Good bye Convoy! Our sponsors TFSource have put up a listing for MP-1L Masterpiece Convoy "Final" Edition. Details are sketchy but it sounds like this is going to be the release that will see the retirement of the awesome Masterpiece Convoy / 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime design which has been seeing roughly a new release every year since 2004. No word on what accessories the release might include or what paint variations might be thrown in, with the exception that the sound stage - a mail in in the 2010 celebration in Japan - will be included with new voicebites by Genda Tessho (voice of Convoy in the original Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers cartoon in Japan, the Japanese dub of the original 1984 cartoon). One of these new voicebites will apparently reveal the identity of the next Masterpiece toy to be released after Rodimus Convoy.

TFClub (registration required) have shared some more images of the upcoming FansProject Protector. This time though we get a look at Protector hooked up to Henkei Hot Rodimus rather than Hasbro's Classics Rodimus. The main differences are the chromed spoiler wing extensions to go with the Henkei chromed spoiler. Check out this trio of images after the jump and decide if you like your Rodimus chromed or vanilla.

As if one last go-around for Masterpiece Convoy was not enough, preorders at TFSource and Big Bad Toy Store suggest that his final release will be accompanied by a re-release of his arch enemy, Megatron! Listings so far suggest this will be a straight out re-release, no changes in deco, parts or anything else, but as and when we get more definitive information, we will update you. Until then keep it TFW2005 for all your Transformers News, Resources and Photo Gallery needs!

Toynova have posted pictures of an add-on "complimentary parts set" to go with the Crazy Devy Predaking Wings set. As you might remember, the Predaking wings that Crazy Devy released were prone to causing damage to the vintage Divebomb wings they attached to. This set aims to alleviate that, by providing smaller thinner wings to replace the vintage ones, and also providing a brace to support the wings when attached to Predaking's back.
Might want to wait for some more feedback before pulling the trigger on this one though. Not only are the wings expensive and carry the risk of damaging your Predaking, they are not officially licensed by Hasbro or Takara-Tomy, so they are only unofficial custom items, purely for mature collectors. |

Million Publishing has updated their website with the cover of the previously announced Transformers: Generations 2010 book.
The site also reveals what we might find inside the book: Transformers: Generations 2010 book is set to release This November 19th, 2010 and will contain information about every Transformers item released in Japan during the year of 2010. Also, the book will cover future Japanese releases. It is said that Transformers: Generations 2010 will contain articles on 2011 Movie Toys (Transformers: Revenge) and another article on Dark Of The Moon (Unsure what it might contain). There will also be a special anniversary celebration called “Transformers 2010”, including interviews with director Shōzō Tajima and voices actors Seizō Katō (Megatron/Galvatron) and Hiroya Ishimaru (Hot Rod/Rodimus Convoy). Naoto Tsushima’s comic titled "A New Battle!" will also be included along with a look at Masterpiece Rodimus and the latest Transformers: Animated (Japan) toys. MSN has posted plot details from the upcoming Transformers: Prime 5-Part Mini Series; Darkness Rising.
The details are teeny-tiny, yet you might find them Spoiler-ish. But they clearly stand by the earlier heard statement of “We're going to be introducing [characters] on an episode-by-episode basis". Read the details after the jump. |

Good golly gosh, as if we collectors did not have enough to worry about with knock offs and replicas of vintage Generation 1 toys, now it seems that some industrious KO maker has started replicating Takara-Tomy Transformers Henkei and Hasbro Botcon exclusive toys. Word is that the exclusive Henkei Seeker pairing - Thundercracker and Skywarp - as well as the Million Publishing Generations 2009 exclusives Electro-Disruptor Mirage and Ghost Starscream and even the Botcon 2007 exclusive Stealth Mirage are among these new Classics and Henkei knock offs. The Henkei knock offs even replicate the packaging of the originals, right down to the Takara-Tomy logos.
Unfortunately there is currently no easy identification for the Henkei knock-offs. The Botcon 2007 Mirage knock-off is a little easier to figure out, as it lacks a rubsign and the clear plastic seems to be a different tone (though that might be down to the photographer). The word is these are currently retailing around the $30 mark, so if you see one of these toys at a suspiciously low price on Ebay, Taobao or another online source, you might want to exercise some caution. While those who've had them in hand claim the quality is comparable to the real thing, quality control varies greatly with knock-offs, not to mention that the pieces will not have been fully safety tested to the same degree as an official Transformers release. As always, "caveat emptor". |

The TFW TF3 Insider has supplied us with an interesting little image. What you are looking at is a possible poster for Transformers Dark of the Moon. Like the initial Transformers poster (which featured a mechanical eye gazing out over the Earth) and Revenge of the Fallen (which featured a shadowed out version of The Fallen's face) this poster keeps up the trend of slightly surreal designs by showing the Autobot symbol with the same graphical style of showing the moon as the previously shown official film logo.
Keep it TFW2005 for more news and information on Transformers Dark of the Moon as it becomes available! |

Today's Featured Ebay Auction is for a pretty rare Generation 1 find. It's for a Generation 1 Mail Away Movie Megatron. The figure comes with the original brown mailer box. This was a slightly recolored version of the original G1 Megatron that was available as a mail away. It came with a certificate of authenticity as well.

KOToys have shared a gallery of in-hand images of the upcoming Transformers Reveal the Shield Perceptor. The Autobot scientist Perceptor is no longer a microscope but a tough looking halftrack vehicle, with an optional flip out weapon concealed within his lightbar. In robot mode, though, Perceptor still resembles his classic Generation 1 design, complete with chrome silver dials on his forearms, silver panel on his chest, and shoulder mounted scope. Check out the images after the jump.

Reprolabels have sent out their November update, and there's some real cool stuff in store. If you cast you mind back to their last update, Reprolabels presented an upgrade set for the FansProject Crossfire set. But what about the other three members of the team? This month's update gives some love to Onslaught, Brawl and Vortex. And what to do with the two members who were left over when the Munitioner and Explorer took their position on the team? How about sticker conversion kits to turn them into a Classics Quake and Spinister?
Also on this month's update is a Generations Red Alert upgrade set - give your Generations Red Alert that Generation 1 touch! - as well as an upgrade set for Trypticon's little buddy Full Tilt and an awesome customization set for Animated Starscream that includes his forehead scar with Allspark fragment and a few other details - plus a whole lot of different faces (a few of which are attached to this article). For all this and more, check out Reprolabels today! |

This may cause an "but of course" reaction from some of you, but Automaton Toys has recently confirmed on our sister site Cybertron.CA that the soon to be released 2010 reissue of Generation 1 Predaking will have the same level of die cast metal content as the original first run Generation 1 Predacons. This means guys like Rampage will have metal thighs, while Tantrum will have that big ol' piece of die cast metal in his back.

This news just came in. Actor Tyrese Gibson just updated his Twitter account with…
“I'm up. On set with what we all hope to be on the last day of filming of Transformers 3.. I will keep you updated!! I feel sick today yuck!” If this is so, then we won’t meet any actors on the New York Filming of Transformers 3. It could just very well be a second unit filming. Still, if you are going to the NYC Transformers: Dark Of The Moon filming, check out what's going on. And we wish Mr. Gibson will feel better as well. |
