First of all thanks to Shin Densetsu for another great review.
I actually was lucky enough to find this figure today (already own the comic version as well). I think I may have found that this figure has a variant! There are apparently two versions of movie War Machine - blue eye and red eye! Check the pics below out... I bought both. Both were labeled as figure #12. |

I dig the red eyes, like the one of the teaser poster.
Also, will movie WM be in the first wave? It would be a waste of time to get the comic version if the real one comes out 2 weeks later. |

He is in wave 2, and I've only seen him at Kmart, though a fellow member here got his at Walmart.

I think it's available at any store, there aren't any stickers denoting that it's an exclusive and Hasbro never mentioned anything about it at Toy Fair.

Damn, that's two more to buy, instead of one.
Well, at least the wife will be happy that I've limited my IM2 purchases to War Machine only.

Just opened the War Machine variant...and after messing with it for a few minutes, I felt like it was lighter in color. A quick comparison later revealed I was right.
There's actually an extra light wash of silver paint over the darker armor bits and weapons. This wash is missing from the red reactor armor. The pics don't really show it off too well. |

I'm thinking that the variant blue figure has something to do with the movie since there's allot of paint differences and even the black parts have almost a worn look on the blue variant.

a big thing I noticed on the blue version was that the red triangles that are on the head of the red clean version aren't on the blue either...I haven't opened my variant blue yet cause I want to get another one.

i noticed that too,i wonder if we'll see both in the movie.like if tony wheres the armor first with the blue and then gives it to rhodey and he changes it to red.

That's basically what I was thinking: that Tony wears one and Rhodey wears the other (regardless of whether or not it's the same suit in the movie).

Hey guys does anyone know what days kmarts usually get their shipments in? I assume like toysrus they all have a fairly standard set of delivery days....might help us find these figures.

I've seen both red and blue at Wal-Mart (red was more abundant). If they have them in at all, there's a decent display 4 pegs wide by 3 pegs tall of the basic figs, along with a few pegs for the deluxe versions.
