Squirrel Girl
This mutant teenager has fought alongside the likes of IronMan and the X-Men and has defeated many challenging foes such as Doctor Doom and Deadpool!! She is currently a member of the Great Lakes Avengers and fights crime with her squirrel friends and powers like super jumping and a prehensile bushy tail. |

Bob, Agent of Hydra
An oddball choice, but when the inevitable Deadpool figure gets released, he will need his lackies to cower in terror behind him. Bob should include his Dental Plan card (The reason he joined Hydra) and Deadpool's severed head to help reatttach after Wolverine cut Wade Wilson's head off to shut him up. Hasbro will most likely make some Hydra Figures so this will be an easy mod for them. |

The Beast - (George Perez / Apeman) Gotta go with my favorite character and namesake. I'm no fan of the current feline incarnation though. I've bought the few and collectibles they've done of him that way, and it just doesn't work as well as the classic Avengers incarnation. Especially when drawn by George Perez. He'd go great with Destro's #1 request of Iceman as well. Not to mention the Wonder Man (Safari Jacket) who would be my #2 most wanted figure. Gotta have both. We really haven't seen a good version of Apeman Beast since the 90's X-Men line. The one in Marvel Legends was oversized and doesn't really fit that well scale-wise with the rest of the figures. The Marvel Legends 12" Icons was closer, but the bulky body hurt the articulation. Hopefully they can manage to nail the classic George Perez version of Hank McCoy right off the bat. And they can even do a grey fur variant from when Hank first changed. Last edited by Beast; 12-10-2008 at 03:40 PM.. |

The Showdown one was pretty solid. Unfortunately they gave the more prevalent blue version a stupid-ass screaming head and the hard-to-find gray variant a very nice regular head. Never did find the gray version, so I'd be up for a proper blue version of him without a stupid expression on his face.

I'd adore an 'Evolution Of The Beast' 3-Pack. 05 "Human" Beast, Perez Apeman Beast, and Astonishing X-Men Beast. Note the Whedon/Cassaday Astonishing version. Like the ML figure. |

Not all of them, about 1/3rd of them were pretty decent overall, including Beast. It's pretty obvious that the Showdown line had at least 2 sculptors at the extreme ends of the talent scale. There's no middle ground with those figs; they either completely sucked monkey taint or were pretty damned nice. That Goblin fig is one of the best figs ever in 18th scale.

i thought I would bring back this thread, we can have some more fun with it...
Anyhow, how about G.W. Bridge? A pretty major character back in the original x-Force series and recently a part of the Cable and Deadpool series leading the new Six Pack. He had a figure back in the day, so why not an update. Plus who doesn't like a character with a clever name like that?

Original X-Men Boxset
I love the look with them all dressed in matching uniforms, it's classic. And you gotta love "Snowman" Bobby Drake. Gotta make sure that Angel includes his Rocket Launcher too.

Then, pretty much reusing those molds (Which we know Hasbro loves to do) A few months later we can get the reunion.
X-Factor! I always wanted an Iceman with his WWF Championship

Tiger Shark
Todd Arliss was an Olympian swimmer, and damaged his spinal cord when he rescued a drowning man. Desperate to regain his swimming ability, Arliss willingly participates in an experiment by the scientist Doctor Dorcas, who "cures" him by blending his DNA with that of Namor the Sub-Mariner and a tiger shark. Although successful, the process changed Arliss both physically and mentally: he now had razor-sharp teeth and gills and had become savage and predatory. Becoming a supervillain and calling himself Tiger Shark, he finds and threatens the Lady Dorma and is then crowned Lord of Atlantis. The Sub-Mariner, however, soon deposes Tiger Shark and the two become implacable foes. Tiger Shark returns to fight Namor time and again, often with allies such as Warlord Krang, Llyra, and Attuma, although the battles come at great cost: Tiger Shark is buried for months, Namor's father Leonard McKenzie is killed and Dr. Dorcas is crushed to death. Tiger Shark goes to fight other superheroes such as the Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, and later as a member of the Masters of Evil, the Avengers and the Thunderbolts. For a time Tiger Shark renounces crime, and renaming himself Arlys Tigershark marries a woman from an undersea tribe of nomads. Tiger Shark, however, reverts back to his old ways when his pregnant wife and her tribe are slaughtered by savage undersea creatures called the Faceless Ones. Tiger Shark has also mutated into a more shark-like being (complete with grey skin and a natural fin as opposed to a costume ornament) and then inexplicably back into human form. No explanation is given regarding this metamorphosis. Tiger Shark's next appearance involves the theft of an artifact called the "Horn of Gabriel", which he uses to summon huge sea monsters and then direct them against the surface world. Tiger Shark, however, is defeated by the Sub-Mariner and the Mighty Avengers. When Al Kraven, the son of Kraven the Hunter, began collecting a zoo of animal-themed superhumans, Tiger Shark is seen as one of his captives in a water tank. Tiger Shark is later hired by the crimelord the Hood to take advantage of the split in the superhero community caused by the Superhuman Registration Act. Before gaining his powers, Todd Arliss was a record-breaking Olympic swimmer but otherwise an ordinary human. After Dr. Dorcas' experiment, he becomes an amphibious humanoid with the traits of a human, an Atlantean (Homo mermanus), and a tiger shark. As Tiger Shark, he possesses the same superhuman strength and durability as Namor, although he weakens if not submerged in water. Tiger Shark also possesses an innate hunting instinct inherited from his shark genes, as once he locks onto prey he cannot stop tracking it until it has been captured or he has been forcibly repulsed. |

I gotta go with Rick Jones and Captain Marvel. Toss in a Moondragon, Marlo and you've got PAD's series ready to reenact.

Sorry, didn't see this, Beastie. The MU fig looks to be a good solid fig; but I don't think it's quite as good as the SS one. The SS one is ganglier, doesn't have bug-eyes, and has overall more articulation. Plus the colors are darker. I wouldn't be ashamed to have the MU fig in my collection, but I'm glad I've got the option to not take it.
I don't expect to be able to say this about many more other characters that get figs in both lines, tho. I'll go with my gut and say the MU fig will generally be better than the SS version. |

I think it's time to revive this thread, now that we've all see what Hasbro has in store for the Marvel Universe line this year. After NYCC this past weekend we've already seen a number of characters, some of which people on this board suggested, turned into MU figures. Plus the possibility of 5 more selected from a pool of 70, again, some of which various Toyark members would like to see.
Characters we asked for and are getting: Iceman Maverick Deadpool Firestar Wolverine (Brown and Tan Costume) Characters we asked for and 'might' get: Mystique The Beyonder Dazzler Firelord Beast Tiger Shark Either Hasbro is paying serious attention to our (the fans) suggestions or they've got a few psychics of their own working for them. Personally I hope Hasbro and Marvel plan on selecting more then 5 characters from that list of 70 for the Marvel Universe line, since there's so many great choices. But in the mean time I thought we should start listing more heroes and villains we'd like to see in 4" scale maybe neither Marvel or Hasbro has thought of. |

Darkhawk
One of my all time favorite, and underrated, Marvel superheroes Darkhawk. His suit of alien armor came with a host of weapons and abilities, including a grappling claw, glider wings, and his signature power amulet which could fire energy blasts and create a force shield. |

Psylocke One of the signature members of the X-Men, and one of the choices in the upcoming Marvel 70 character figure choice poll, Psylocke is the ultimate ninja babe. She's played the role of both hero and villain in her sordid past and even come back from death. Her psionic skills allow her to make weapons crafted from her own mind's energy. |

Bounty
One probably very few of you have heard of, Bounty made her debut in the pages of the Fantastic Four. An alien bounty hunter, hired to track down and destroy Marvel's First Family, she instead wound up joining forces with them. She later made appearances in the pages of Spider-Man and a few other title series. In addition to her superhuman strength she has an arsenal of weapons at her disposal which would rival the Punisher's. Last edited by Nemesis*Prime; 02-08-2009 at 01:48 PM.. |
