I think he means he prefers the Marvel Showdown Surfer better than the MU Surfer.

I got mine today. Anyone know if there is a store version that has blue light up instead of red?

Uk buyer here, picked mine up after Star Action Figures sent it within a day of receiving it!
Dragging it home was fun, all packaged up it's an enormous thing. If you don't get this retail expect to pay through the nose on postage. I got the regular version with the actually silver Silver Surfer, which is a marked improvement over the standard MU. The paint is crisper and there's a shadow wash around the eyes, very impressive stuff. But not nearly as impressive as the overall package. Great box, hilarious super-huge file card and interesting purple string ties rather than plastic. Of course I de-boxed Galactus and it is now the centrepiece of my MU collection. The thing that doesn't really come across in box pics is how fantastic it is to have a figure that is consistent in terms of style but outrageously huge in scale. You get a genuine sense of how threatening a character like Galactus would be when even Giant Man, The Hulk and Juggernaut are utterly dwarfed! The articulation, detailing and functions are superb and if you're at all into this line you simply must make the effort to get one. |

The only place I've seen him is Forbidden Planet's website and two in store, but at £70 I'm feeling it's a bit too much... would anyone know of a cheaper place to get him to and in the UK? Thanks! Hey AlienWeirdo, i've just had a look myself and it looks like they've all gone from Star. I definitely reccomend shooting an email to them to check if they're getting more in. The guy that answers is always quick and friendly. I got mine for £60, postage included. It turned up well boxed and in mint condition. I can't see you getting it cheaper unless you stumble upon it in a retail store and that's highly unlikely. If you get it online look for inclusive post prices as it weighs a ton and that's where you might end up forking out the most. To be fair i'd happily pay £70 for it. One ebay sale went for 80 so I think that's going to be the standard.

I found one at my local TRU in NW Indiana, it was pretty nice but I took a pass on it. I'm saving my pennies for the NEW DCUC. If Mattel hasn't changed their patterns which I don't they have 2 or 3 waves will be hitting at once.

Found Galactus this morning at TRU. Great figure for $50! I opened him as soon as I got home (I was DYING to open the SDCC version but held out). He's pretty awesome.

I saw four of them at my local TRU today. $49.99 is a little steep. I might buy one this week.
