According to The Wall Street Journal, General Motors will be ceasing production of the GMC Topkick by the end of July. Unable to find a buyer for their medium-duty trucks, General Motors decided to end production on the GMC Topkick and Chevrolet Kodiak in its effort to streamline its operations. The end of the GMC Topkick presents an issue for future Transformers movies beyond Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, as Ironhide's vehicle mode is the Topkick. Will Ironhide simply choose another vehicle mode or will the people responsible for the movie just elect to keep him out of future movies? With the second movie only about to hit theatres, we may not know the answer to that for quite awhile.

Seems like Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is causing a stir amongst Harry Potter fans.
The IMAX version of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is being delayed 2 weeks from it's regular 35mm opening due to a scheduling conflict. Paramount locked in the date for Transformers 2 a while ago, and signed a deal with IMAX to have it shown exclusively for 4 weeks on their screens if Michael Bay and company shot scenes with the IMAX technology. They did, and all was well. That is, until Warner Brothers pushed back the date for Harry Potter from a 2008 release date to Summer 2009, opening July 15th. That conflicts with the exclusive window for IMAX that Paramount had set in stone for ages (4 weeks from opening), and therefore Harry Potter will not begin IMAX showings until July 29th now. Potterbots are up in arms ranting on ROTF and Paramount. From our perspective sounds more like a Warner Brothers issue. Maybe they shouldn't release their flicks when conflicts like this are present. Or rather yet - just don't try and compete with Transformers. I think Paramount was in the right, and Im glad they didn't budge. Either way, get ready for your ROTF on IMAX, they start at 12:01 AM Tuesday night/Wednesday morning opening week (June 24th). |

Autoblog has recently posted Aprilia's press release for their new V4-powered 2010 RSV 4 superbike, which was presented at the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike at Road America last weekend. The bike was present with it's full Revenge of the Fallen livery.
Aprilia's press release: Aprilia USA Brought Hollywood to Road Racing with Blockbuster Debut Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen inspired Aprilia race bike unveiled during action-packed Road America weekend NEW YORK, NY – June 6, 2009 – Aprilia USA added a special dose of Hollywood blockbuster excitement to the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike series when it unveiled a one-of-a-kind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen inspired race bike today. This special stealth edition of an Aprilia RSV 1000 Factory competition machine made its debut during Round 6 of the road racing series at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. The aggressively styled Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Aprilia bike revved up excitement for the June 24 opening of one of this year's most anticipated movies among an estimated audience of over 70,000 race fans. Enthusiasts had plenty of chances to see the bike up close, on the track, online and will be able to watch it during a future segment of AMA Pro Prime Time on SpeedTV. Following its Paddock debut, KWS Factory Aprilia Millenium Technologies rider Ben Thompson (97) took the bike to the starting grid twice. Race 1 of the Daytona SportBike was at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 6 and Race 2 begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7. In addition to his exclusive ride, Thompson waged an equally ferocious helmet, whose design matches the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen theme. In addition, Aprilia hosted an exclusive Midwest unveiling of the revolutionary 2010 RSV 4 Factory streetbike. Expected to transform the production superbike category with its unique blend of brutal power, Italian style and technical innovation, this was the very first Midwest appearance of the Aprilia RSV 4. It is the only RSV 4 currently on U.S. soil. Aprilia and superbike fans also had the chance to test the latest motorcycles from the Italian manufacturer by partaking in the Aprilia Adventure: Road America. For riders who want to experience the adrenaline rush of Aprilia motorcycles, the Aprilia Adventure is the antidote to the traditional short demo ride. Instead of a few minutes riding through traffic, enthusiasts had plenty of time to fully appreciate the real capabilities of the bikes. Along the way, participants also enjoyed hospitality, refreshments and an Aprilia gift bag. The Aprilia Adventure was open to licensed riders with proper riding gear for $20.00 per person. Click on the title for more images and to join the ongoing discussion. |

2005 boards member S250 has posted images of the upcoming Arcee figure. Arcee made an appearance in the last movie line, but this time around, she has an all new figure in the Revenge of The Fallen toyline.
Arcee can combine with Chromia and a third motorcycle fembot, which is a repaint of one of the two. As of yet, the combined form is still a mystery. It isn't seen in the film but the toys are able to combine nonetheless. Click on the title bar to see more! |

TF08.net has posted a 20 image gallery of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Ice Cream Truck two pack. This Deluxe class set contains Autobot Skids and Mudflap in their initial forms, where they transform and combine to form an ice cream truck, the first time this alternate mode has ever been used in Transformers! Check out all the images by clicking on the link above or the title of this story.
Also shown in one of the images is a darker, more metallic version of the Deluxe class Autobot Sideswipe. It is not yet confirmed what this item is although the smart money suggests that it is a custom piece rather than an upcoming release. |

Good news for the UK fans tonight - 2005 Boards member ninety has spotted the Wal-Mart Exclusive Decepticon jets, Skywarp and Ramjet, at the Brig O' Dee Asda in Aberdeen. As Asda is the UK branch of Wal-Mart, this should not come as too much of a surprise, but given the sometimes hit-or-miss nature of Transformers exclusives in the UK this is very welcome news.
US fans fear not - this duo is due to hit US Wal-Mart stores on June 21st (thanks to lordelohim for this information), and they can be had right now on Wal-Mart's online store. Be sure to keep up with what is being found in your area in our Transformers Sightings board! |

Two special promotions are currently taking place in the UK to celebrate the impending launch of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. The first, by high street retailer Marks & Spencer offers a family holiday to Costa Dorada in Spain as a part of their promotion for the various Transformers clothing that Marks & Spencer are carrying. All that is required is online registration at the contest page where you can also find out about the contest terms and conditions.
The second chance to win a holiday in a Revenge of the Fallen tie-in contest comes from Maxell, who offer a holiday to Egypt where several sequences from Revenge of the Fallen were filmed! For this one you have to buy the promotional packs of Maxell DVD-R or DVD+Rs and enter the promotional code on their website. These contests unfortunately are not open to any of our readers outside of Europe (in the case of the Maxell contest) or the UK (for the Marks & Spencer contest). But for everyone in Europe and the UK, good luck and hopefully you might win something! |
