So MU fever is in full-swing. By the looks of it, there are more great figures to come in 2011. I'm curious on everyone's opinion with the MU line so far; which figure do you think is the best one so far? I'm talking design, execution, level of detail, articulation, accessories... I have so many favorites that take the prime spot on my display cases. I'll save my opinion for later though....

Wave 1: Spider Man
Wave 2: Captain America Wave 3: Ms Marvel (modern) Wave 4: Moon Knight, Hate the torso but overall great figure. Wave 5: Guardian Wave 6: Warpath Wave 7: Thor, Hate his face he looks like something from Avatar. Wave 8: Juggernaut Comic Pack Wave 1: Captain America, Wish they used a darker blue. Comic Pack Wave 2: On the fence with this one, I want to go with Magneto but I hate that he's so short. Comic Pack Wave 3: Hawkeye Comic Pack Wave 4: Dr. Doom Gigantic Battles: Still mib SDCC Exclusive's: Still mib/card MDC Exclusive: Still mib ToysRus Exclusive's Still mib Overall IMO Juggernaut along with wave 8 is the best figure/wave to date. The only thing I dislike about him is the fact that his helmet dosen't come off. Last edited by LUCKYDUBE; 06-04-2010 at 07:33 PM.. |

Right now it's a toss up between Juggernaut and Colossus.

Thor (modern), Juggernaut, Colossus, Archangel, Extremis, Hawkeye, Ultron are my tops so far. Its hard to pick a winner. Juggernaut's new and amazing, but I like the face on Thor. I'll have to go with him.
The Ghost Rider head look phenomenal. I looking forward to him knocking all the others down a notch. |

I have to admit though, I really liked all the older ones, Wave 1 and wave 2. I have nothing against them at all, but it seems like Hasbro is stepping up their game. The figures also seem to be getting bigger....the three short molds Daredevil, punisher and spiderman have all been phased out pretty much leaving only the new stuff and the new stand by, Black SM body |

Hard to pick a favorite right now, the 1st waves had a lot of steam that later waves lost until a few months back. Here are some notable figures:

I'm gonna have to go with Extremis Iron Man too.
The looking up body is a nice touch, and his core body and arms can be used for tons of kitbashes or figures. Iron Patriot, Nova (new legs, new head, IM2020 like chest for full nova prime effect), Dark Hawk (new legs, tweaked head, and wraith gauntlets to add wings with), and more. Otherwise I gotta go with ultimate cap, 2010 wave 3 colossus, or Thor. Thor's cape especially I thought was an awesome way to add it in. It's hard to just pick one. Especially as each wave progressively gets better and closer to one upping my Motion Revive Kamen Riders in articulation. (Only double elbow joints different now it seems, besides the double shoulders that make it hard for limbs to stay on.) |

Gotta go with:
1. Modern Thor 2. Extremis Iron Man 3. WW2 Capt. America{but that is because I swapped gloves/boots with SW one and repainted him to a darker more accurate classic Cap} 4.AIM soldier 5. Bulldozer[don't know, just have always really liked him since I picked that SW pack up} course this is all based on having not found any more of the AIM soldier wave yet so since I really want Juggy and hear he's really great, this could change based on him. |

Many MU characters are great, but as many people have noted, sometimes the similar body molds get in the way of distinguishing which figures are heads above the rest. I think that 3 factors help separate the good from the great: accesories, costume design detail, and package art.
Having said that, Blade could have been the best figure for me. The variety of accessories are the best of any MU figure so far, the package art is solid, but the costume design leaves more to be desired. The cape is awesome but he looks like he's wearing a plain body suit. A bullet-proof vest and more attention to the arms/legs would have made this my favorite figure. However, I agree with others who feel Thor is probably the best all around MU figure so far. The package art is top-notch, the costume design has great detail from head to toe, and the hammer is exactly how it should look. He's porportioned correctly and has that "right out of the comics" look. The waist articulation is a nice touch as well. |

I do like that figure a lot but I think there is some room for improvement. |
