I imagine just like Series 2 Wave 1, aka Series 6 [Vision, Warpath, etc.], all stores will get the exact same case layout. No variants.

I'm afraid that since it's the right after Christmas season, we may be waiting longer on SW 3 than previous waves since stores are notoriously slow on restocking especially toys at least for a couple of months til they inventory.
Oh and if anyone else is interested, the Fury Files Program has apparently ended according to the website{ or they're preparing for the HAMMER files} Last edited by decepticon_mark; 01-02-2010 at 08:00 PM.. |

This is true, although a few people have been finding the new Spidey 3 3/4" line this week at Walmarts.

Yeah, been looking since my finance's mom gave me a Walmart gift card for Xmas but really not liking the non articulation with this line. It's a shame cause last year I loved the fact of having 3 lines of Marvel figures that were in scale together so that if you couldn't find one then maybe you could find some of the others. On the articulation thing I gotta chime in to, as a kid{targeted market for toy makers} I hated "gimmick" figures I always prefered more poseable ie GI JOE, the old Mego dolls/figures, even some of my old Buck Rogers figures over gimmicky figures like the Super Powers or Thundercats. Not to say I didn't buy/collect them but I really liked being able to pose them over having the gimmicks.

IIRC, that's supposed to be the new Extremis Iron Man.

Really... I think this new one looks better than any IM so far. I agree with you on his wrist articulation though. Hasbro said there was a new articulation point added to this IM fig so hopefully it is the wrist.

But I sure hope that articulation point is the wrist. Might it be those swivel thighs like Thor?

I just can't get over the head personally. It doesn't look as good as the regular helmets. The figure still looks good though.

I have to say I really like this one. Growing up in the 70's and 80's the classic version and the Ditko version have special places in my heart but this is the first new armor style I really like.

While this is a solid looking figure, I'm not into Iron Man enough to get really pumped. I will say the MU line is looking better and better and this figure shows as much. I'll get it but I'm unsure why Iron Man in general needs multiple lines right now. Between MU, the Iron Man cartoon, the 6' Iron Man line, and now the Iron Man 2 line...that's a lot of Iron Man stuff.

MU = comic books. AA = cartoon. Iron Man 2 = movie (and ball jointed). I mean, they're not going to not do a cartoon line because of the movie. The 6" line is pretty much done anyway. |

In retrospect.....its just a lot of Iron man products. Despite him being one of the most popular Marvel characters, the second movie is bound to drive eager chldren to buy any Iron man swag. Incoporating the Iron Man name into multiple lines and venues ensures that a child could find an Iron Man toy if they wanted it. In short....they are making it so they can't not spend their money.

I like this whole wave with Black Widow and Thor being must-haves.

Thor is a MUST for me. After that, I may pick up black widow, luke and Iron Man. But the others I won't mind passing on

I completely understand that in order to see lower-tier characters like Bucky and Luke Cage, Hasbro needs to constantly crank out the top tier figures. All types of collectors need to be happy. I'm just saying that Iron Man figures already seem to have multiple outlets for the "child" collector already. I've always considered the MU line to be more slanted for the mature collector, increasingly so as each line delves deeper in the Marvel universe.

Actually there have always been complaints from people regarding the tiny torso the past few IM's have sported. Personally, I don't mind it, considering the Extremis Armor is supposed to be fused to Stark's body and stored in the hollows of his bones. I took this from wikipedia:
Quote:
His new armor is no longer a bulky unit which houses its own AI "response server" and miscellaneous interfaces for neural control. Instead, it is more lightweight (constructed of a pliable crystalline material with a molecular structure that can collimate into super-hard planes upon the application of an electrical field) and less complex (as it interfaces directly to Stark's brain via the Extremis-modified cybernetic connections), and has much faster response time since it effectively functions like Stark's second skin.
