In a recent article from Deadline.com about 3D in movies, Micheal bay was interviewed about his thoughts on the new technology and about integrating it into Transformers 3. As he talks about how the studio wants him to convert the film to ultimately be 3D, he talks about how he wants to do the movie right and remains skeptical of the process stating, "...if this isn’t going to be excellent, I don’t want to do it. And it is my choice.”

E-Hobby Shop has put up a preorder page for Transformers Alternity Ultra Magnus. Ultra Magnus will be a white redeco of the existing Alternity Convoy mold, and will use his Alternity powers to not only deal with it right now, but three days ago two dimensions away (from the other side of the universe for good measure). He will be released in September, although preorders will close on April 25th. Alternity Ultra Magnus will also be available at "Transformers China Carnival" (provisional name, subject to change) in addition to E-Hobby.

2005 Boards member Masabon has shared with us some scans from the April 2010 edition of Figure King Magazine. It's another issue heavy with Transformers Animated coverage, including pictures of the upcoming releases in the line, Blitzwing, Lugnut, Soundwave, Arcee and Shockwave. Most important of all to fans is the confirmation of Arcee's colorscheme on her Japanese release:
Transformers Animated Arcee in Japan will be primarily the same as her US release, the only major difference being the addition of full color faction logos, and some lighter paint on her waist (which might be the photograph). Rest easy, those of you who cannot find Arcee in her Toys R Us exclusive glory at US retail, because it looks like you may be able to get her from Japan without her sticking out like a sore thumb on your shelves of US released Animated toys! The coverage in this issue also shows Japan's Animated Blitzwing, who has a metallic finish on some of his tan parts and faces, plus Shockwave, Soundwave and Lugnut who do not look all that different to their US releases apart from full color faction logos. This issue confirms that there will be a VS pack released containing Blitzwing and Prowl. Takara-Tomy's other lines are not forgotten, as there is a page covering the upcoming Alternity releases Skywarp, Starscream and Ultra Magnus, plus Device Label Broadblast (Blaster) and Cheetor, Disney Label Buzz Lightyear, and Masterpiece Ghost Starscream. Check out all the scans by clicking on the title of this story. |

Although an advance copy was not available, TFW2005 has reviewed Last Stand of the Wreckers #3! Last Stand of the Wreckers #3 is out today - Wednesday, March 17th - from IDW Publishing. Check out the review and a few new images from the issue by clicking on the Title Bar or thumbnail to the left.
Although an advance copy was not available, TFW2005 has reviewed Last Stand of the Wreckers #3! Last Stand of the Wreckers #3 is out today - Wednesday, March 17th - from IDW Publishing. Last Stand of the Wreckers #3 Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written by: Nick Roche & James Roberts Pencils: Nick Roche & Guido Guidi Inks : Guido Guidi, John Wycough, & Andrew Griffith Colors by: Josh Burcham & Joana Lafuente Letters by: Neil Uyetake Editor: Andy Schmidt Associate Editor: Denton J. Tipton Covers Cover A – Art by Nick Roche and Colors by Josh Burcham Cover B – Art by Trevor Hutchison Retailer Incentive – Art by Trevor Hutchison Review The sixth and final rule of being a Wrecker is to never, ever show any sign of weakness. In Last Stand of the Wreckers #3, Nick Roche and James Roberts follow that Wreckers motto delivering a story that is full of action and devoid of any weakness. As Issue #2 ended, two teams of Wreckers descend upon the Overlord-controlled Garrus-9 to recover the mysterious Aequitas. The two pods crash on Garrus-9 facing heavy enemy fire, with one of the pods (which included Verity Carlo) landing right in front of Overlord. After starting the issue with a little back story that hints at Overlord’s intentions for Garrus-9 that also features a familiar face, the action picks back up where we left and never stops. No flashbacks, no down time, just pure, straight action….with the death of one Wrecker. While the action continues, Roche and Roberts are able to delve deeper into the background of several characters. Beyond the back story regarding Overlord, we learn more about the tie between Twin Twist and Topspin and delve into Ironfist’s fear. Some personal matters from Spotlight: Kup are brought back up. Fans of Perceptor will see him take the spotlight in this issue, both as the old-time scientist and as his newly-found sharpshooter persona. All this is done by Roche and Roberts while effortlessly incorporating the six rules of being a Wrecker taken from Fisitron’s Unofficial Wreckers’ Training Manual. The fate of Fortress Maximums is revealed and the identity of Aequitas is (somewhat) revealed. Likely due to the workloads, there were many contributors to the art in the issue. Guido Guidi assisted Nick Roche with the pencils, while both Guido and Andrew Griffith helped series-regular John Wycough with the inks in this issue. On the colors end, Joana Lafuente stepped in to help in the coloring duties with Josh Burcham. Regardless of the seven hands involved in art duties, they managed to pull off an issue that contained art that was visually consistent. There are no full-page panel “money-shots” in the issue, but there’s still plenty to look at in almost every panel. Did you like the first two issues of Last Stand of the Wreckers? Do you like a comic packed full of action? It’s all here! The only real concern from this reviewer after reading this issue is….how can Roche and Roberts top this issue? |

TFW2005 will be running a Featured Ebay Auction every so often. We used to do this before, and it always generated a ton of interest, but it was always tough to keep up. With a renewed focus, and hopefully some fun, cool or rare auctions, we can keep this going on a regular basis.
Today we have a Japanese Generation 1 C-311 Grand Maximus mint in sealed box (MISB) from seller ksgj03. Always fun to see the rarer of the "Holy Trinity" (Fortress Maximus, Grand Maximus, Brave Maximus) sealed. You can also check out the other Japanese Transformers as well. If you have or see an Ebay auction that you think would work as a Featured Ebay Auction, why not post it in our Transformers On Ebay Forum. |

Board member GenZhao brings us new images of another upcoming TakaraTomy Animated release. This time we get to see a comparison gallery for Prowl in his vehicle and robot modes. Not much has changed from the Hasbro release except for his Autobot insignia, shiny gold paint alongside the motorcycle flaring and nose piece, and now silver headlights.

Thanks to D-Drive, TFW2005 has acquired an image of the upcoming Diamond Select Powermaster Optimus Prime mini-bust. Diamond's official solicitation is as follows, incorrectly referencing the bust as an homage to the Armada version of Optimus Prime.
A Diamond Select Release! Art Asylum design and sculpt! DST's exciting mini-bust line continues to deliver the most iconic and memorable robots-in-disguise from Transformers history! This latest entry to the line depicts the "Power Master" merged version of the bravest and most noble of all the Autobots, Optimus Prime! As depicted in the Transformers: Armada animated series, Power Master Optimus shed his merged form and went on to sacrifice himself to defeat Unicron and save all of mankind. This super-detailed bust and base takes this line to a whole new level of awesome! |

Transformers Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron will be released on June 22nd. Amazon has updated their pre-order page for the upcoming Transformers Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron novel. The biggest aspect of their update is the addition of a description of the story. The novel also has been downsized, now featuring 288 pages instead of the 352 pages that was first advertised. The full story descrption is below. For twenty-five years the colossal battle between Megatron and Optimus Prime has captivated Transformers fans around the world. Yet the full story of the conflict between the two most famous Transformers—everything that happened before Optimus and Megatron arrived on planet Earth—has always been a mystery . . . until now. Here, for the first time told in its entirety, is the thrilling saga of Optimus and Megatron before they were enemies, before they even knew each other. “Freedom is every Cybertronian’s right!” After Megatron utters these immortal words, the caste-bound planet of Cybertron is rocked to its foundations. Megatron, an undefeated gladiator thug, gives voice to the unspoken longings of the oppressed masses—and opens the mind of an insignificant data clerk to possibilities previously unthinkable. Long before becoming the honorable Optimus Prime, Orion Pax is a mere office underling, an unlikely candidate to answer an outlaw’s call to revolution. But Orion is determined to meet this defiant enemy of all that Cybertron stands for, no matter what he has to do, or how many laws he has to break. What happens between Orion Pax and Megatron forever changes the destiny of all Transformers. This gripping, action-packed novel reveals all the loyalties and treacheries, trust and betrayals, deadly violence and shining ideals, as well as the pivotal roles played by other characters, including Starscream, Sentinel Prime, Omega Supreme, and one of the thirteen original Primes, the last link to Cybertron’s glorious Golden Age. Discover how meek disciple Orion Pax becomes the fearless leader Optimus Prime; follow the tantalizing clues about the lost Matrix of Leadership and the lore surrounding it; find out why the two allies fighting a corrupt regime suddenly turn on each other, and what triggers their epic war. Transformers: Exodus provides everything fans ever wanted to know about one of the fiercest rivalries of all time. About the Author Alexander C. Irvine has written fourteen books, including Buyout, The Narrows, and A Scattering of Jades, which won him the Crawford Award for best new writer. He was a finalist for the Campbell Award for best new writer and a Pushcart Award nominee for his short story “Snapdragons.” Irvine’s short fiction has appeared in the Vestal Review, Fantasy & Science Fiction, Alchemy, and The Year’s Best Science Fiction, among others. He lives in Portland, Maine. Transformers Exodus: The Official History of the War for Cybertron will be released on June 22nd. |
