Two of the upcoming LEGO Power Miner sets have photos. As of yet, these sets appear to have no name....
This includes LEGO set #8957- a machine-type like robot. And the drill machine- #8690. These sets include a rock monster and the ability to combine with another set! Credit to these images goes to "alldark" on a lego-specific photo sharing site, the gallery can be found here http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=354344

Liking the rock monsters, and the other mini figures...... But I'm not so sure on the actual vehicles.
Might get them for the mini figures and sell of the vehicles. My dwarve mine could use the monsters as guards |

This set seems cool enough. However, I just passed it at Wal Mart!

Not sold on the orange or green. One or the other would've been great, but together it's not very attractive. The drill and little mech look great, otherwise.
The mini rock dudes look awesome. |

They remind me of the Rockraiders from the 90's when I was little. I wonder why Lego keeps re-using general ideas for themes. If they should redo anything though, we should get some new Throwbots. That'd be sick. The little rock dudes are cool, weren't they in the last Brickmaster? I think I've seen them before.

That link's not working for me, for some reason. This one does though.
LEGO.com Powerminers : Home Personally, I wasn't big on the Rock Raiders or these Power Miners, but they look cool and the little monsters are a drastic improvement over the creatures from Rock Raiders. |

I found all the new power miners at my local TRU in WI today.
I honestly wasn't very impressed after seeing them in person. Iwill probably only get the rock monsters from ebay sellers. Or buy the sets my self and seller of the sets and keep only the minifgures and monsters. |

I love those new lego dynamite pieces in the Power Miner sets. The little bars of dynamite all tied together with a string for igniting it, I just love and need that piece. I went to Wal-Mart today in search, but a snowstorm is coming in, so Toys R'Us and Target, where I knew they had them, I couldn't head out there.

I bought the granite grinder today ( the one with the little sled)
It is actually really nice, the gas tanks are a nice touch, the little rock monster "rocks" the green is NOT as bright and nastly as I thought it would be either. Also some of the stickers have texture to them, so you can actually feel the "mud" on them. I think I might bet the drill machine latter this weekend, if i get back to TRU. |

The rock monsters are some of the best minifigures in the history of anything. Seriously! I dare you to pick one up and not fall in love at first sight.
As for me, I picked up the tiny robot to experiment with the line (and get Boulderax). I was annoyed by the inclusion of stickers instead of preapplied decals, but the machine number and the black/white muddy stripes were worth the effort to apply. The dumb circles, not so much. The set itself isn't as intricate or armed to the teeth as, say, Exo-Force, but it does the job. Nothing wrong with the nerdy pilot either. It's been a long time since I've both a regular Lego set, last one being the Robo Raptor from 6+ years ago, but I think Power Miners "does it" just enough for me to come back for more. |

I was looking at the crystal sweeper closely and noticed it has a deployable motorcycle that comes out of the back.
I hope we get a base type set and maybe a rock monster "cave" |

It's a limited-edition TRU exclusive set, it seems. It also happens to look quite awesome and is getting rave reviews.

I was checking TRU today, it seems they have an ad (finally, after weeks since Christmas) for 25% on Power Miners, including their new exclusive Power Miner set, so maybe that will help your crying wallet.
