Malaysian chocolate drink Vico (it's a little like Milo or Ovaltine, apparently, for those who are wondering) is currently including free Transformers Animated gifts! These freebies are much like the Transformers-related items stuck on the front of the short-lived Titan UK comic (although the story now continues in Titan UK's Movie Transformers comic, Issue #23 on sale now). Among the items available, are a set of carsigns, a tricolor highlighter pen, and torches in the shape of both faction logos.

Some news has come down to us on the Live Action Movie Blog via Twitter - Travis Barker, drummer for Blink-182, is working with Busta Rhymes on a song for the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack. It is not clear if this song is actually going to be played in the movie, or just on the soundtrack.

The official Botcon homepage has now updated with images of the fifth and final Botcon 2009 Exclusive toy. This is the one and only Elite Guard Commander, Thunderclash! As previously reported, Thunderclash is based on the Transformers Energon Rodimus mold and is heavily inspired by his 1992 predecessor, right down to the eagle symbol on his chest.
The reveal of Thunderclash means that all five pieces in the pre-registration boxed set have now been revealed! If this latest news has still left you on the fence about pre-registering, then you may wish to consider the following update, sent out by way of email earlier tonight: As of today, we have sold 87% of the BotCon 2009 Wings of Honor sets. We have also cleared all of the people on the waiting list for the non-attending Iacon packages. Everyone who was on the wait list is now getting a set. We will be allocating to the Iacon wait list each week (provided that there is any quantity left) as we get closer but, we must maintain sets for people who decide to come to BotCon at the last minute. If you want to be on the Iacon wait list, please use the registration form and write wait list on the top. If you are coming and have not registered yet, you need to do so very soon as when we run out, we will have to use a substitute package from the 2005 convention, and even those are now in short supply. The short version - act NOW to avoid disappointment because the convention is likely to sell out within a matter of days! |

Simon Furman has posted three news updates on his blog today.
First up is Maximum Dinobots Issue #4, out this week. Simon talks through the various plot developments of this issue which builds to the grand finale in issue #5. Be warned, there may be some spoilers in this post! Second is an update on Simon Furman's future Transformers projects. In addition to a pair of mystery IDW Spotlight issues which are currently under wraps, he is penning an Ironhide / Optimus Prime story for the All Hail Megatron Coda. Furman is also working on Transformers: The Art of the Movies for Titan and Transformers: The Movie Universe for DK, as well as volume 2 of Titan’s Transformers UK. On the subject of Transformers UK, Simon Furman has put up a post about the recently released issue #23. Those UK fans who picked up the issue doubtless noticed the presence of the Transformers Animated back-up strip - this will run through issues 24 and 25 as well, and carry on the original material that began with the short lived Titan UK Transformers Animated comic. Simon Furman also confirms that the alternate Movie continuity, which began a little over a year ago with "Twilight's Last Gleaming" is coming to its close with the three part Revolution storyline - this also wraps in issue 25. |

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman recently took time out of their busy schedules to speak to Sci-Fi Wire. In the interview they talk about the challenge of making the first movie, and the possibility of getting Leonard Nimoy and Frank Welker on board for the Movie (Regarding Frank Welker's involvement, Roberto Orci states that "I think they're in the middle of hashing that out. We'll see who we get.")
Villains also get discussed in the interview, with the reason for The Fallen's inclusion being that Orci and Kurtzman went back to the comics and the cartoon to come up with bad guys for inclusion in the sequel, and The Fallen was "the most elemental bad guy that kind of jumped off the material". As regards the other Transformers, Orci mentions that "you won't get to know them all", citing the Stormtroopers of Star Wars. Check out the full interview on Sci Fi Wire by clicking here. |

Variety has posted an article discussing the immense work that the visual effects companies are putting in fror Transformers Revenge of The Fallen under Michael Bay's direction:
Michael took the production value up many, many notches," he says. "Just the backgrounds alone are huge. It's a combination of 'Apocalypse Now' and 'Ben-Hur,' in regards to fantastic backgrounds and the unbelievable sets we worked at around the world. Also posted today was another article that has a breakdown of the creative crew working on the upcoming movie: Defense Dept. film liaison Phil Strub has been Bay's direct connection to the Pentagon since "Armageddon," supplying script approvals and expert military advice. "You're doing a crazy robot movie ... and the Pentagon says, 'If we were ever called to fight aliens, this is how we'd do it,'" says Bay, whose films have been big recruitment boosters for the armed forces. |

Action-Figure.com has reveiled that Diamond Select will be offering an exclusive Megatron bust at San Diego Comic-Con 2009. The bust will be a slightly altered version of Diamond Select's previously released Megatron bust. At last year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Optimus Prime bust was repainted into a Generation One animation accurate color scheme. Action-Figure.com has been given a spec image for the exclusive and it does indeed seem like Megatron will receive a Generation One animation accurate color scheme as well. San Diego Comic-Con 2009 takes place from July 23-July 26, 2009.

Canadian Dairy company Sealtest has begun releasing cartons of milk with the Autobot symbol and the Revenge of the Fallen logo. On these packages is a promotional contest offering a free trip from Paramount to the Revenge of the Fallen Premiere in Hollywood! Participants simply text one of the code words (such as "Command" or "Cinema") to a number on the side of the carton. Apparently the more codewords you find, the better your odds!
