Just as the title says, who was the first Transformer you got?
Mine was g1 Ironhide. I remember it was around September of 84 and the commercials for the toys were running wild and I had just seen the first mini series, More than Meets the Eye. Needless to say I was hooked and I deperately wanted one. So my dad went out to get something and he came back with a plastic pumpkin used for Trick or treating(Halloween was just around the corner). I wasn't expecting anything when he handed it to me, but there was an early Halloween treat inside, Ironhide! What a suprise. I knew he didn't look like the toon, but he was fun to play with. That was just the beginning, that Christmas I recieved Optimus, Starscream and Megatron from "Santa" and my grandparents got me Soundwave. Ahh Memories...

My first Transformer was Bumblebee, & I got him from a CHildren's Palace. Not sure why I got him, I don't think it was my birthday or anything, I was just there with my mom & I guilted her into getting it for me! & I happened to get a Megatron for that first Xmas after as well. It wasn't until the next Xmas that "Santa" brought me Optimus, the Constructicons, & a whole lot more. It seemed like I didn't get many Transformers in the old toy box until a year or two after they came out, my parents were getting me more He-Man/Star Wars/Gi Joe than Transformers because they were so expensive it seems.

G1 Jetfire Christmas in 84. It was a Matsushiro Jetfire also, (I never knew what that was untill a few years ago)
At first, I was kinda bummed, I had wanted Prime the most and my dad could not find him anywhere. It was all good though, because a few of my friends had Prime, so I got to use him often, and ended up falling in love with Jetfire

My first tranformer was the Bumblebee that I guess was called Bumble? And was from Transformers Victory from what I gather. I don't know what that's all about, I had to look it up but I know which one I had.
Since then, Bumblebee has always been a favorite Autobot of mine. He's always been a really neat character to me. I always liked how human he was compared to a lot of the transformers. I've loved him in all of his incarnations with the exception of the movie version. To me he'll always be the yellow bug. I've been searching for him lately in my boxes of stuff, but I can't find him. Oh well. Soon. |

I'm pretty sure (read - not sure at all) that the first Transformer I got way back in 1984 was Skywarp, closely followed by Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. All three have been repaired since but still exist in the collection. Yay! |

You know what, I dont remember which one I got first as a kid. I remember having a couple of dinobots, constructicons, and 1 headmaster, but I dont know which one was first.
I remember the first transformer I got when I started collecting as an adult. It was TM Primal. A friend of mine got me into it and I went on a hunt with him to TRU and saw Primal. It was awesome. I got him, then a few more BW, and then ebay came out and that started my G1 collection. |

Although I did receive a Soundwave as a hand-me-down, his head broke off, I lost the head, and I got depressed and never looked at it again(seriously. when toys broke there was pretty much no saving them in my book). As further salt in my wound, the guys who gave me my Blaster felt compelled to play with him in the sand, so his tape deck wouldn't open properly. Yay! The Blaster tape deck is an issue. Mine never worked when I first got it, I had to open him up and play around with the insides to repair the mechanism. I'd love to advise on a fix but to be honest I was poking around without the faintest clue of what I was doing. I don't recommend it!

The Constructicon, Bonecrusher, when I was 10. I was in the hospital with a disease that nearly killed me, and one of my best friends brought me the Transformer as a gift. I still have it, 100% complete.

I noticed a couple other posters talking about the Constructicons.. I quickly got all of the G2 versions(probably the first ones I can remember opening out of a package). I remember I got Bonecrusher last of all my Constucticons, and I broke him literally the moment I opened him(his leg broke off, defective). My dad took me back to the mall and bought me a new one. It was things like that that showed me the kind of guy my dad is. Man, I have to say I really love this thread. It's bringing back a lot of memories I kind of forget about sometimes. |

I had Go-bots before any TF's....they were cheaper, and I was a "poor kid" (still love Go-bots til this day)
But my first Transformer was a G1 Tracks....got him from a store called "S.S. Kresge" although I can't remember what happened to him I'd have to say that Tracks was a very cool TF to be my first.

My first was Soundwave/Buzzsaw in 1984 from some little toy store in Cambridge, England. A few months later, I got Optimus Prime for my birthday as a counterpart (1 good guy, 1 bad guy). Of course, all I had to go on at the time was the toy catalogues and the first ones I saw never mentioned Megatron, so I thought Soundwave was the leader of the Decepticons. Needless to say, later catalogues and the cartoon soon corrected me.
But to this day, Soundwave is my favorite character and Optimus second. Later on, I added the combiner teams (the gimmick, as a whole) to my top ten, as well.

My first TF was Trailbreaker. I actually found him while looking for Go-Bots one day way back in 1984. It was all downhill for my parents' wallets after that.

G1 Thundercracker was my first. I still remember the day. Everything really captivated me about Transformers, and that's where I am still today.
