With GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra Wave 2 figures already released in stores, the vehicles won't be far behind! Considering the Ice Cutter With Snow Serpent Officer? Well if you're on the fence, townshend of ACTOYS has posted images of the new alpha vehicle, out of box! The Snow Serpent Officer retains the weapons and accessories from the 25th Anniversary Snow Serpent. Meanwhile, the Ice Cutter is one of the all "new" molds made for Pursuit Of Cobra, albeit pushed back from its original launch date(supposed to be much earlier this year). |

HissTank.com member Wry1 delivers with another great work of art. Lady Jaye was sketched and hardlined with #3 (H) graphite pencil on 11"x17" bristol paper and then digitally colored with Corel Painter. Not only was he able to capture her beauty but was also able to blend the classic A Real American Hero look with the more modern Resolute style. If that isn't enough to impress you keep in mind, Wry1 is colorblind. Click discuss to comment on this work and check out what else is going on in the Fan Art Forum.

GIJOE Pursuit of Cobra Recondo Review Recondo is an all new sculpt. This is a new look for Recondo with a few details reminiscent of his classic look. His hat appears to be a slightly retooled mold from the Attack of Cobra Island set Recondo. The details are a little softer on this one. The hat really only fits on his head when it’s pushed back a little, it won’t rest on his eyebrows. Recondo’s removable vest has a lot of sculpted detail, a glued on satellite phone and two holes on either side near the belt to allow you to store both of his axes. The backpack has two rotating solar panels, a retractable string and a big red button. The string plug attaches to the peg on the side of the bear trap so that when the bear trap gets someone you can press the button and it’ll yank them towards you. Here's what they had to say: However, during a phone conversation between newspaper company OSEN and an associate of Lee Byung Hun’s entertainment company, they stated, “We have never received a casting offer from the production company Taewon Entertainment, nor have we even read the synopsis of the drama. In reality, we are not in a situation for Lee Byung Hun to be cast for this spinoff(IRIS 2). The filming for ‘G.I Joe 2′ will start at the end of this year. Due to ‘G.I Joe 2′, there will not be any plans for him to star in other dramas or movies for a while.” Previously, the film was said to possibly start filming early next spring. |

Apocalypse Comics sent us a line letting us know about exclusive comic covers that will be available thru them at New York Comic Con. Included will be covers for Transformers #12 and G.I. Joe # 23 from IDW.
We will be bringing two exclusive variants to this years New York Comic Con. The first is for Transformers #12, and is a homage to the classic Jack Kirby cover of X-Men #1. The second is for GI Joe #23 and is a homage to the unforgettable Apocalypse Now! movie poster. The TF cover features Sideswipe, Prowl, Swoop, First Aid, Brainstorm, Bombshell and Scrapper and the GI Joe cover features Baron Bludd and Duke. The reason we have chosen these specific characters to grace the covers is because they were all voiced by legendary voice actor Michael Bell who will be joining us at the convention, signing comics, figures, DVDs etc... |

Max Brooks returns with artists Howard Chaykin and Antonio Fuso for GI Joe Hearts And Minds #4! This issue focuses on opposite ends of the spectrum! Both are doctors. Both are motivated. One for knowledge, the other with morals. How did Dr. Mindbender and Doc's stories turn out? GI Joe Hearts And Minds #4 Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written By: Max Brooks "Dr. Mindbender" Art by: Howard Chaykin Colors by: Arbutov "Doc" Art by: Antonio Fuso Colors by: Flippo Flores Letters by: Neil Uyetake Editor: Andy Schmidt Assistant Editor: Carlos Guzman Covers Cover A - Art by Howard Chaykin colors by Edgar Delgado Cover B - Art by Antonio Fuso Cover RI - Front cover Art by Howard Chaykin colors by Edgar Delgado Back cover art by Antonio Fuso Barnes n Nobles Retailer Exclusive Cover - Art by Howard Chaykin colors by Edgar Delgado Review Max Brooks returns with Howard Chaykin and Antonio Fuso to tell the stories of Dr. Mindbender and Doc respectively. This is a good match up because they share one thing in common; their profession, but how they go about their business is completely different. It is fitting that they belong to their respective organizations, and this issue shows why. This issue of Hearts and Minds has the same characteristic of previous issues; being ideal not just for followers of IDW GI Joe fans, but new and casual readers alike. The title serves as a great introduction to IDW's GI Joe lore. The 1st half of this issue tells Mindbender's story. In it we learn more about his background, and his reason for pushing the limits of scientific research. The panel design is very easy to follow and complements the script rather well. I'd like to see a reduction in color-holds by Arbutov, but that's about it. Some of you may not be used to Chaykin's style but his work on this issue shows that he is ideal for this title. The 2nd half of this issue focuses on Doc, whom we haven't seen much of. Fuso's art seems simpler. For example, look at his previous GI Joe Cobra/Hearts and Minds issues. The colorist(Flippo Flores) for this issue is not the usual colorist paired with Fuso. The colors take some time to get used to. Fuso's work lends more to subtle colors. This issue features cel shading and in some panels, it looks out of place. Not bad, but definitely noticeable. Overall the story in this issue flowed seamlessly and is worth picking up. I hope IDW has Brooks onboard for other GI Joe titles as well. |

Larry Hama and Agustin Padilla return for another issue of the series revitalized series that started it all, GI Joe A Real American Hero! GI Joe A Real American Hero #158 sees the Joe team infiltrating the Silent Castle. Meanwhile the influence of a certain doctor can be felt via the brainwave scanner! The sword brothers clash! Cobra Commander gets some new equipment to play with! GI Joe A Real American Hero #158 Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written By: Larry Hama Art by: Agustin Padilla Colors by: J. Brown Letters by: Neil Uyetake Editor: Carlos Guzman Consulting Editor: Andy Schmidt Covers Cover A - Art by Agustin Padilla colors by J. Brown Cover B - Art by Rod Whigham colors by Andrew Crossley Cover RI - Art by Larry Hama Review The creative team of Larry Hama and Agustin Padilla bring you another action packed issue of GI Joe A Real American Hero! The issue opens up with an eye-opening splash page by Padilla. His work continues to be a good fit for this series. It lends itself well to Hama's action-filled script. It looks more dynamic than his work on OPERATION HISS. The only thing I wonder about is the random specks of ink, seen in almost every panel. In this issue, we find the Joes trying to infiltrate the Silent Castle. What ensues in this castle makes for some explosive action. Some comics tend to just have an awesome splash page, and that's it. This issue isn't like that, the art work gets more dynamic as you read on. Remember, the Joes are at a disadvantage, they are fighting on Cobra's turf. It's not just that, Hawk is on the run on his own, facing danger at every corner too! Snake Eyes is awesome in this issue, but this issue also proves that IDW is writing him as a invincible super ninja. He isn't a dues ex machina, and he certainly isn't saving the day. So those of you worried about him being in here and Hama writing this issue, have nothing to worry about. This issue, if anything, focuses on teamwork amongst the Joe team members; a gestalt of you will. Meanwhile Destro may have something worry about, as Billy and The Baroness are quite close, and the Brainwave scanner's influence(as well as a certain Doctor's) is great...Also, Cobra Commander receives some "new toys" to play with, that we will probably see in the next issue, and may bring back some memories. Overall this issue, was pretty enjoyable. It does not disappoint and is worth picking up. |

An unfortunate byproduct of changing plans is the cancellation of product(s). For example, JoeCon 2009 saw the debut of many Pursuit Of Cobra items, most of which were delayed from their intended release dates. Some were changed, retooled, repainted and what have you, others outright canceled. Arctic Assault Snake Eyes was one of them.
Nonetheless it's always interesting to check out "what could have been", and that's just what we have for you. Hit the title bar to check out Steel Brigade's review of Snake Eyes(Arctic Assault)! |
