I realise I missed the deadline but as someone who's only recently started collecting Marvel universe 3.75" figures as an adjunt to previous 3.75" Hasbro lines.
There's a few things that accure to me from an outside perspective. 1) Why on earth have an Iron Man figure line and pump out a lot of different Iron Man figures in Marvel Universe as well ?... even after the Movie sequel line Debued. Also, Iron Man himself has a lot of potential with redecos. Redecos are how Hasbro pays for the R&D and manufacturing of the molds, (since redecos don't cost them nearly as much as the original release). It also helps fund the R&D for new molds (i.e. new characters), which is a good thing. Quote:
2) Why not hold off on X-Men characters to a small extent in the line and instead release them in the next 'X-Men Origins' figure line. there's plenty of figures from X-Men 1 to 3 and Wolverine and so on still that could be made.
Quote:
3) There's a Spider-Man line they seem semi-comicish like the Marvel Legends so surely a lot of the Spider-Man items should be in that line.
Quote:
4) Therefore it seems to me that the logical thing to do is not release any more X-Men, Spider-Man, or Iron Man figures (or indeed Thor) under the Legends line and instead bulk the line out with characters from other teams and with Individuals... and if possible make movie version of characters like the Punisher and Blade if licenses permit.
Since it's a little unlikely that there will be another Fanatasic Four movie imminently then they are something to use, as is the Mighty Avengers, Captain America, Hulk, Other X-team characters and villans... perhaps there's a legitimate reason to add some characters to the general line that otherwise might fit in the Movie lines - comic related subwaves if they are to obscure to warrant being in a movie toy line things like Emma Frost with Ice-Powers for example. I'd like to see things like The Red Skull, or Skrulls or Firestar, Cloak & Daggger, Dazzler, or Ms Marvel in the Marvel Legends line.. things that otherwise don't really fit. If you did mean Marvel Legends, there isn't much product coming out anymore, besides 2-packs. For better or worse, Hasbro's main focus is on the 3.75" scale and using smaller sub-lines/exclusives for 6" figures. Quote:
But Comic Deadpool and Gambit and Ice Man seemed popular choices in the wolverine line and I'd like to see Movie X-men figures dumped enmass into the next X-Men Origins figure line... all the staff that was previously made and more only now in 3.75" line.
But there's no reason why characters like The Beetle or the Absorbing Man or Sand Man various Symbiotes, The Scarlet Spider, Spider-Armour Spider-Man etc... shouldn't be in the Spider-Man line and only in the Spider-Man line. Quote:
5) Lastly I'd wonder about the legality and general likelyhood of Circuit Breaker and Deaths Head being made since they cross the border between Marvel Comics and Transformers they are both legitimate characters to put in the Marvel Legends line - heck Deaths Head II would make and Ideal 3.75" figure and Deaths Head 1 and ideal 6" figure for reasons of scale.
You can't honestly tell me that more people want members the obscurer members of Alpha Flight before hand than want Deaths Head as I'd not believe you as he's of more interest as he's relevent to The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Doctor Who and Transformers. Sure Marvel Managed to screw him up a bit later on but that does not mean he's more deserving that some of the more obscure Iron Man armours or characters that have Already been made. I'd put him well up the food chain from a character like Iron Fist or Wonder man, Cannonball, Thunderhawk or Hawkeye or the Falcon or indeed every miniscule costume change Wolverine's ever had. Sure some of them are good if you want to complete a team and people will always have obscure favorites (I've always liked Moon Knight & the Black Panther for example). But if Hasbro don't make Deaths head and continue to plunge into the ever more obscure that will only serve to annoy me. I wish someone could collar them at a convention and specifically pester them about Death's Head. I would love MU versions of Circuit Breaker and Death's Head (I or II), but I just don't see this happening any time soon.

Is there a level of management across Habro's products that is responsible for trying to cross-promote the various lines? For example, if the Transformers Crossovers team is making a Ghost Rider Transformer and the MU team is making a Ghost Rider, is there anyone that sees this and says, "You TC guys try to make that transformer bike fit this MU figure"? Or someone who says, "IM2 figures are going to drive sales this year. Let's stick a small MU logo on the IM2 packaging somewhere so buyers can associate this line with the other"? Or someone to say, "If we make one figure in a business suit, the Joe team and the MU team could reuse it with different heads." Or, "The Marvel Legends fans are going nuts for product, so let's re-release YellowJacket or Fin Fang Foom or Galactus to satisfy both crowds"? Oh, wait...

As far as I'm aware, there is no such person or department. It's up to each project or division leader to think of things like that. But half the time, these toys are designed and/or manufactured at the same time. So one division may not even know what the other one is working on until a trade show or internal announcement. By that point, it's too late to do anything with the current products (but could lay the seeds for something else in the future).
Besides, making the Ghost Rider TF fit 3.75" scale would make him smaller than the rest of the Crossovers and I believe the designers are attempting to make the robot modes in-scale with one another (or at least similar in height). I'm going to try to buy 2 GR TF's so I can have him ride himself ala Wreck-Gar and the Junkions.

With regard to the Iron Man 2 Movie and Comic figure lines there seems to be major issues with these figures reaching stores. Can this be resolved because I myself have yet to see the comic series hulkbuster, titanium man and others of that wave here in Florida. this isn't just referring to one store chain but all the major players.
Can this be figured out and resolved? |

3) Is the Iron Man 2 Comic Series limited to armored characters/villains? For example, would non-armored characters like Mandarin or Whiplash be off limits for that series?
A) Neither are off limits for collection 2 of the comic series. You should definitely check them out and see if Mandarin or Whiplash make an appearance. You might even be lucky enough to find BOTH villains in one collection! |

At the end of last year, you stated that the Daredevil mold was going to be retired. Yet we see that the Black Panther "Target Two Pack" is sporting this mold. Why is this?
All figures sporting rifles, have the same accessory (M16 with grenade launcher). Can we please see a new rifle accessory to complement other figures. Last edited by Tarquinius; 05-30-2010 at 09:55 AM.. Reason: Another Question |

Besides the upcoming Marvel Legends 2-packs, are there any more 6 inch figures planned for the near future?

One of the biggest criticisms of the Marvel Universe line is the size in proportion to other MU figures. For example, Nightcrawler towering over his other fellow Xmen. Black Spiderman being taller then others as well. Captain America/Punisher/etc being dwarfed.
Can you explain how this decision is made and if this is something you are looking to remedy over time with the retiring and introduction of body styles? |

Also, why was Black Spiderman body chosen for Nightcrawler instead of the more height-appropriate Bucky body? There's always: Is MU bringing in more XMO bodies? Will MU see IM2 bodies? Will MU stick with MU established articulation (the best!)? |

The Marvel Universe figures have amazing sculpts and articulation, especially extraordinary when considering the smaller scale they are in. Does the technology available to the designers dictate what characters, sculpts and paint applications they can execute or do the designer's vision push the technology for production?

I Want An Answer
Is the Marvel legends Ares wave completely extinct or could we see them again later, because i couldn't find guardian or crossbones more than 1 time? Or Have you considered selling BAF parts individually on hasbrotoyshop for a small fee for those who couldn't get the figures? i emphasize on individually because someone might have been able to get every part except 1,so they could go to HTS for that last part |

Dear Hasbro,
I've been trolling stores for months in search of wave 6 Vision and Sunfire to no avail. Since so many other figures have stuck around for months, is there any chance we'll see these in greater numbers/better availability? |

Not sure if this has been asked yet but
Are we likely to see any more characters from the Ultimate universe? We have Cap but what about Iron Man or Haweye? Maybe the Liberators Colonel with Darth Maul style weapon?

-Distribution of Marvel Univerese is atroucious. Fix this please?
-Who are the people behind the sculpts and planning of Hasbro's Marvel Universe figure series? I really enjoy their work on a TON of your guy's figures. -I love what we are recieving in the lou of 2010, what will be the theme that you will introduce for 2011? Will it be more Modern? or Classic? -Get a Nova out there before the Marvel Universe line dies. (Which I don't see happening soon.) Maybe in 2011? COME ON!

The Marvel Universe toy line is supplemented obviously by some movie counterparts (Iron man 2, Xmen Origins.) However, those line use different articulation then the MU line, which is arguably worse then the MU standard. In some recent images, we've seen some figures utilizing this the movie articulation (SDCC WW2 Cap, speculated X men giant 6 pack Wolfie and X Strike Force Wolfie).
Can you please inform us if these figures have this articulation and/or do you plan to use this articluation in the MU. IF SO, I think I speak on behalf of the MU collector community by saying PLEASE DON'T |

^ Yes! I know that using the ball-joint (movie style) articulation is a decision made by the design team but the Marvel Universe-style articulation works so much better, ESPECIALLY within the 3.75" scale.

I agree. Why do they dig the Movie Figure's grave in the way they do? IF they were to give us better articulation on the hips then maybe MORE people would purchase those characters and include them in their "universe".

Any chance we'll see an MU wave dedicated to the more memorable recent story lines? I.e. Planet Hulk - Hulk; Siege - Sentry & Ares; Old Man Logan - Logan & Hawkeye; Secret Invasion - Skrulls in Hero disguise...
