I'm not really impressed, I've to admit. I expect more from a $200+ figure/doll. When I look at Hot Toys (admitted, they are more expensive), but also some of the excellent 12-inch figures released by various Chinese manufacturers for half the price or even the average Marvel Legends or Neca figure, this Red Skull simply doesn't look very impressive nor menacing. I'll pass.

I love the alternate 'What 'chu talking 'bout Willis' face. As a comic version though he kind of fits that classic model. No Hugo Weaving though.

My biggest concern is not the look of the figure...it looks good enough....but rather if Sideshow has done anything to improve that POS 1/6 body that they use for most of their deluxe figures. Most of my experiences with them have been really poor, with the body being extremely fragile, showing signs of stress the the first time you pose them, or being broken inside the box before you ever even handle them.

does the eye socket depth look weird? or maybe it's the placement of the eyes? or maybe the eyes are too big? Maybe the brow is featured too much and obscuring the eyes.
either way, look like something is off with the eyes. |

He needs the pronounced temples and cheekbones. Should be really angular. The uniform is decent, I just am not really caring for the head sculpts. There's a definite pronounced realism to them, but they don't look that cool or intimidating to me without the exaggerated features..

In my opinion, they've just not nailed any on their attempts at a Marvel 1/6. They always look a little..cheap, maybe. Especially considering the price.
Wolverine looked ok, as did Thor but definitely not great. That said, I still want them to get to Dr Doom. |

Can we possibly get a Marvel Legends Red Skull in that Nazi looking costume?

Why do they insist on making his pants look like he’s historically a Nazi officer.. instead of historically like he is Red Skull in his green (non puffy nazi pants) suit from Hydra of Marvel comics...... Hydra people. NOT Hitler. It looks way off from the comic. I hope Sideshow Collectibles will fix it for that $225 price tag before it comes out.

The pleated pants (also known as Jodhpurs) that the figure is wearing has been a staple look for military dress for dozens of the world's military forces outside of Nazi Germany, including France, Italy, Great Britain, Japan, the Soviet Union, China, and even the United States. The look stemmed way before Hitler and the birth of modern facism, and is one that still endures today with many nations. |

SSC has never been great at 1/6 figures. It really comes down to their price point. If this was something like $150-180 it would be more appealing.
