"This is the first new Thundercats product since the loss of the Thundercats Classics toy line, which Mattel dropped when MattyCollector was closed down."
I'm not sure of the exact time frame from when the Matty stuff stopped but didn't the Loyal Subjects figures and some Funko Pops come out since then? |

It is an amazing statue. I'm currently struggling in my mind to figure out where to even put it.

The Mumm-Ra statue is amazing. The Lion-O, not so much. Those biker shorts are just...No. They've been on a roll with so many good 80's re-imaginings, they were bound to have one look off.

Yeah, this Lion-O falls short of the standard set by the Mumm-Ra statue. I have to admit I don't like anything about it actually...the stiff pose and the updated aesthetics. Also full leggings would've been less distracting than bicycle shorts.
It just occurred to me, with those shorts and that pose, it looks like he's doing his morning calisthenics routine lol. Last edited by deecee4; 02-23-2018 at 09:05 AM.. |

I think the extra-detailed 'realistic' face spoils the appeal. The character was always cartoony; keep him cartoony -- hence recognizable.

Agree with all the above. That Mumm-Ra set the bar petty damned high, but that Lion-O is bordering on downright terrible.

I'm not sure the sculptor(s) thought about what they're supposed to be doing while they struck that pose.
Mumm-Ra looks he's winding up for an invisible pitch. Lion-o looks like he's singing in an opera. There's only ONE kind of person that should be wearing bike-shorts, and that's someone that's actually riding a bike. And ONLY WHEN that person is riding a bike. I used to have this dude at the office that'd wear his bike-short for 1/2 a day at the office whenever he biked in to work, because he wanted to make sure everyone at the office know that he biked into work that day. Sad part is, he's still fat! Put some pants on! No one care to see the contour of your fat butt! |

That Lion-O reminds me of the...let's go with odd look Simon had in Castlevania Judgement.

I haven't seen much good said about that Lion-O anywhere. Is Sideshow the type of company that would acknowledge complaints and hold off on a piece in order to get it right?

Not something this far along, no. Few companies would make major changes at this point in production.
