Escape From New York is one of my all-time favorite movies and Snake Plissken, played by Kurt Russell, is one of my all-time favorite movie characters. Sadly, there is almost no EFNY products available for purchase. I have the figure made by McFarlane but that's about all they have ever made. There are a few other collectibles out there, including a board game, but I want me some action figures!!!!! I could totally imagine Snake existing in the same world as GI Joe so I made myself this fairly simple custom. Aside from simple head swaps, this is my first custom figure EVER.
I had fun making him. It took me one night to do. The hardest part was finding the right pieces. And I was a little nervous about cracking the torso open, since I had never done that before. I tried it on some ROC duke figure that came in a set. Not really as hard as I imagined it would be. I still have a few things I want to add to him, like a belt with gun holster, shin guards and the tracking device he wears on his wrist. Anyway, let me know what you all think. Comments/critiques are welcome. I have a couple of other characters I am thinking about doing so any feedback on this guy will be greatly appreciated. The Matt Tracker head works surprisingly well! Nice job!
Now that I think of it, with some work Tracker's head would also make a great Big Boss head... Then again, Kurt Russell = Naked Snake. Last edited by scarecrow; 09-05-2010 at 05:52 PM.. |

Thanks! Yeah, Kurt is for sure Naked Snake. Solid Snake might be based on Snake Plissken, but Naked Snake looks just like Kurt. That Matt Tracker head is surprisingly versatile.

Wouldn't mind owning that....but then again anything having to do with metal gear has always been a plus.
