I don't get why when they keep rebooting Spider-Man into a HS kid. For pete's sake (no pun intended) why they don't just "adult" him up and go from there?

Couldn't agree more. It's only the 3rd time he's a highschool kid again.
Keaton as Vulture looks awesome though. |

I posted the Spider-Man:Homecoming trailer here, and posted my one issue on it
http://www.toyark.com/spider-man-hom...75/#post688445 Not sure who the friend was, but I'm okay with that. Vulture looks spectacular. The web wings look amazing. I loved the scene with the bank robbery and the masks. The stuff with Tony was hilarious. They didn't give too much away, yet, they gave enough to wet your appetite. OH HELL YEAH!!! THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE SUPERIOR TO EVERY OTHER SPIDER-MAN MOVIE EVER!!!!! It's going to be the ultimate Spider-Man movie!!! I've been caught in this web of Spider-Man.

Because they are doing the high school version right his time. Plus, the Tobey version was a high schooler for like 40 minutes despite him not even looking anything like a high schooler. Andrew was way too cool to be a high school kid. Tom looks AND acts like a high schooler.

I thought the trailer was really weak. Less high school hijinks (most of which wasn't particularly fun or funny,) and more Spider-Man please. I would like to watch a Spider-Man film when this finally hits, not a PG version of Super Bad.
Vulture did look great though, as was the cameo of an unmasked Shocker. Spidey holding the ship together looked a little too much like the train scene from Spidey 2 though, and I ended up checking out from there. It's a teaser...I get it...but there have been better teasers from other films as of late that actually had me excited. This one did nothing for me, but I'll hold judgement for when the film hits. After all, ASM2 looked absolutely amazing when the first teaser hit, and it was an absolute trainwreck. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 12-09-2016 at 12:07 AM.. |

spider-man homecoming ...
well the high school thing i hope is short Iron man and Spider-man relationship development, awesome! Though im going to say it now, The Iron man team-up can be good or bad i.e iron man should Fail , giving spidey the chance to succeed and prove himself... I nearly forgot about star wars till that kid destroyed the deathstar... serious Disney we get the message you own two major franchises... -.- Vulture your look better be temporary , not a fan of the mask, be nice to see him in the day rather than darkened areas.. Other than those few gripes i am looking forward to it, will it be the best marvel film ? Erm GOTG Vol.2 is something i am more excited for, than homecoming... Everything MCU related falls behind Ant-Man and the Wasp for me.

I think the kid with peter is supposed to be Ganke from the Ultimate Spiderman comics. He was the best friend of Miles Morales and it seems like he got transferred to Peter now. As for Vulture, I feel like the helmet will be worn until they reveal that it is Batman, I mean Keaton. I like the outfit for Vulture. I figured it would be tech based. When they were going to build to the Sinister 6 in ASM2, Vulture was going to be that way.

...are you just not familiar with how Spidey got his start in the comics? Because the whole high school thing is, well, kind of a HUGE part of his character and story. Like, a defining part.

Just saw the international trailer for Homecoming. It is way better than the one that debuted stateside, as it showcases a bit more Spidey and less awkward high school-ness (and still a bit too much RDJ.) Still not completely sold though.
I guess Bokeem Woodbine really is the Shocker. I know that it was the rumor for months now, but then I saw a white dude with a beard wearing the Shocker's jacket in the trailer and ended up assuming Woodbine was actually playing another role. |

Or better yet make a spideman 2099 movie with his original costume...not that gaudy wreck that hes sporting now.

No i am but its time to move past that. Its like everytime theres a new spider series its always him being a kid or something. I say use that in an opening sequence and brief narration then get in to him being an adult...or at least 22 in college. Move away from the tween kid spider and into him being spider MAN.

Being totally honest with you, though, I still wish they'd just gone for Miles in the first place. I'm glad for all the changes here, but I am so friggin' done with Peter as a character. He bores the crap out of me. I find pretty much every other Spider to be more interesting than him. Throwing Miles in as the lead Spidey in the MCU would have been a risky gamble, but I think he would have made a better impression, and have a wider appeal - after all, even with the changes made to update him, Peter's still a product of the 1960s, when academically-inclined, glasses-wearing "nerds" were called "Poindexter" and stuffed into lockers by football players.

Some of Peter's best stories come from his high school years, but many of them (along with his villians) also come out of his adult life as well. For example, one of the characters that I have always wanted to see interact with Spidey on the big screen has been Black Cat, due to the sexual tension between the two as well as the strain it puts on Peter's relationship with Mary Jane, but we will never see that if we keep going back to high school. We have already had 5 Spider-Man films so far, with two of them (3 if you count the brief amount of time they were in school in Amazing Spider-Man 2) and it would be nice to see Peter get on with his adult life already. High school was cool, but the best is still yet to come. |

Id like to see a spiderman movie where hes ACTUALLY a man.......not spider tween. I mean whats with this bs about him always being a kid ( i get they wanna capture kiddies but thats what toon are for ). At least raimis 2nd and 3rd ( despite the third sufferimg from trilogy over stuffing syndrome and the goofy strut walk and sky ninja not goblin ) had him growing up not perpetually stuck in high school, nor race/gender swapping characters. S2 will reign besides deadpool and cap2 as my fave superhero movie, at least until grifter or maybe the darkness get a movie.

The other problem with HS Spidey/Peter is that it doesn't really mesh well with the Avengers because he's too young...A college Spidey would have been ok. This film better have plenty of Marisa Tomei.
Im ok with the reboot as it ties in with the MCU. Im more than ready for FOX to release their stranglehold on F4 and X-men. Viktor Von has not been done justice in my opinion. |
