So, the thread is somewhat self explanatory. There's been plenty of Spider-Man figures throughout the MU line, as we all definitely know by now. But is there a perfect one? I know they're getting close, but I'm surprised they're not there yet. First we had the Wave 1 Spider-Man, which wasn't that bad. It just felt very fragile to me. Then we got the new mold for Spidey, the House Of M/Secret Wars one. Which was good, but not very poseable.
Now we're getting 3 new Spider-Man figures (that I know of at least). The Spider-Man from the Captain Britain & Spider-Man comic pack. The FF Spider-Man. And the Ultimate Spider-Man. But are any of those the best? I think they're close... but not quite there. The Spider-Man from the pack looks good. Same looking mold as the House of M one but, at least according to pics I saw from SDCC, has a thigh swivel. Which I LOVE. I think if you could only give one figure a thigh swivel, it should be Spider-Man. What's the problem though? That damn open hand he has. I don't know about everyone else, but to me, it's just stupid. It looks like he's trying to grip something but his arthritis is getting in the way. FF Spider-Man looks good too. Nice articulation. Nice looking costume. But it looks too bulky. What we saw was a prototype (I think) so hopefully they'll realize that and change it. I personally think it looks like the worst out of the 3 new Spider-Man figures, but I'll get it for sure just for the FF costume. The Ultimate Spider-Man has what I want. It has what I like to call "web slinging hand". I love the web slinging hand. Sets him up for cool poses and everything. But by the looks of the SDCC pic, they got rid of his thigh swivel. Very disappointing... so close to a perfect Spider-Man! Of course that may be a prototype picture, so maybe they'll give the thigh swivel to Ultimate Spidey. And the end, they're ALMOST there. Combine comic pack Spider-Man with Ultimate Spider-Man then I'm sure it'll be the perfect Spider-Man figure. That's what I believe at least. But what do you think? Do you agree? Has the perfect Spider-Man already been made? Or will the perfect Spider-Man never be made? Anyways, this was my rant. Please enjoy. |

Honestly, I gotta say that this Spidey is the best (so far)
San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Hasbro Exclusive Marvel Universe Movie Spider-Man | ActionFigurePics.com Having just ordered him off ebay, I have yet to actually try and pose the figure. But with the exception of "rocker ankles" he seems to hit every other mark in terms of articulation, and he looks super-sexy to boot (no paint slop that I can see in the pics, I hope mine looks just as good)

Well I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I would REALLY hate to see the one perfect Spider-Man to ever exist to end up being a SDCC exclusive.

Planet X has em for $9.99, but with shipping to the US it cmes to $22. Yuck. That's a nice spidey though. I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

I am still happy to wait to get the Amazing Spider-Man. Don't care if he has runners, it looks great.

The SDCC one is still reasonably priced on eBay. I was tempted to pick up one a while back, but the poor guy wouldn't get the shelf space he deserves.

My local comic shop guy has 2-3, asking $30, but they were shipped from sdcc so cost em more, plus his markup, all in all not bad, I will probably get the sdcc cap figure off him before spidey as he's around $20 on ebay but shipping is near 10+ neways.

I was thinking about buying one of these but I think I'll wait to see what the Spider-Man movie line produces.

Hell yeah, SDCC Spider-man is awesome and comes with a nice slip cover packaging just like SDCC Ultimate Cap and SDCC Ages of Thunder Thor. I own all 3.

I have actually been holding out for a decent MU Spidey too. My fave is black suit Spidey, but I don't like the Secret Wars one and I don't like the look of the ball leg articulation of the Spidey 3.75" line one.
And I am not really a Spidey fan; I just want to buy one version of all the main (meaning they made a movie about them, lol) Marvel guys to display. So far I got World War Hulk, Ghost Rider, Bucky Cap, Modern Thor, Target 2 pack Tiger Stripe Wolvie & Bleeding Edge Iron Man. Still need to get FF 3 pack and upcoming CP Daredevil... but I also still need a Spidey. I don't really care if the costume is actually worn by a different character (like Bucky Cap), so I am thinking I should just buy Scarlett Spider and be done with it since that one looks pretty cool. LOL. |

The best so far looks like future foundation spidey, and the amazing spider-man's line that'll have the super articulated spidey. But otherwise I agree. If a figure can't do their own iconic poses... You've done something horribly wrong.

I like the super poseable one from the Spider-Man line. I think that wins so far
