Is he any good or should I wait for another version? I noticed he doesn't even have ball hips >_> Are his robot arms fairly short too?

Based on reviews and forum chat, I got Rhino the other day and left Ock due to lack of info. Rhino is a pretty solid piece of plastic for sure. You don't even notice the lack of leg articulation on him.

Wow that does look nice. Do the Legends Showdown series match well with the current 3.75 lines? (MU, Spidey, etc)

Here is what he looks like out of the package, and sorry about the dusty shelf.... I'm a busy guy.

Yes they match very nicely. Venom & Green Goblin in that pic are also Showdown figures.

Definitely get the Showdown version. It's the Doc Ock that we all know. The one from the new Spidey line looks like he's some techno reject or something, with washboard abs.

And I have yet to get a hold of that Rhino. It's hard to find in my area.

I've passed on Rhino, but I'll end up adding him to my collection. Any loose stuff I usually give to cool kids, but lately I've been hanging on to some carded figures. I'll upload a picture of what the newer Carnage and Venom look like.

I have the gambit, and I have venom but mine is the 1st series release that's all black with the tongue out.. I prefer IMO the solid black on venom as compaired to the blue or blue and black.. and I don't have the carnage figure, looks pretty cool. I dig the showdown figures by the way, seen them years ago long before MU came around but never jumped on them, some of them are better then MU figures, and some MU hasn't made yet ie toad and doc ops, they finally just made the jim lee cyclops, I would love for someone to do a comparrison vid on the showdown jim lee cyclops vs the MU version when released.

I got the horrible spiderman doc ock and modified it and I think it came out amazing, here is a link if you are interested.

http://www.toyark.com/mu-scale-doc-ock-upgraded-35415/

I picked up another of the base figure a few weeks ago and have been thinking about doing another one.

Thanks for the pics and Marvel Legends Showdown recommendation. Never even heard of that line. Just ordered the Doc Ock. One thing I noticed with this line is that the paint looks a little iffy. Guess I'll judge when I have one in hand.

Nice custom there Dom. The longer tentacles look pretty seamless.

Since we are on the subject of spiderman characters, does anyone know if the stretch strike venom, lizard, or scorpion figures are out yet?

@domshen
Definitely cool custom there, bro! The figure looked 10000000x better with your mod.

@dogfashiondisco
Carnage is definitely great. I was really surprised when I got it at stores and SRP. I was told that it used to be rare. As for Gambit, the mold is okay. I just wished that it was just a little bit taller. I hope they release an MU Gambit someday... or maybe a 2-pack with Rogue.. that would rock! And for Venom, I love that mold. It would've been perfect if there was knee articulation. But I think the new Stretch Strike Venom is superior. I just wished that they've stuck with the Eddie Brock version and painted the figure in full black instead of the wussy purple/pinkish tint. Oh, Hasbro.

@itMFtis
The paint is actually okay in the Showdown line. The main problem that people have with it is that the arms and legs easily fall off (though you can attach them again). So, be careful when handling them. Some of the figures in this line are actually superior than some of the MU versions. I actually liked the Showdown Thor , Spidey, and Green Goblin better than their MU versions. Also, Beast and Mole Man are great figures as well.. they fit right in with the MU figs.

@Symbiote
They were already released about a couple of months ago, at least here in my country (Philippines). But I also read about collectors in the US saying they've also acquired it, though I don't know if they got it from the local stores, hobby shops, or from the net.

I would say that Carnage is still pretty rare, I've only ever seen him three times, and I bought him each time (one to open, one for a buddy of mine, and one to keep in the package). I live in Missouri, and I've only ever found them in K Mart... in case any of you guys are curious. As for Gambit, I had to buy him loose from someone on eBay, but I wish I could get my hands on a sealed one too.

Very nice find. They even have carnage on there and a plus with the discount. Thanks for the heads up on this. I just got lizard and scorpion. Now the only one to find is stretch strike venom.
