I wish I had kept my first release of this ship because the aztec pattern is much better looking than this one, but no matter. PAUL is gonna do this thing right. I had the lights replaced on my first one, but didn't take any pictures of it. This time, I'll take before and after pictures to show what was, and how it should be.

I just remembered something that really pissed me off about the first release. There was no secondary battery cover! You can damn well bet that it is not going to be present again, even though DST admitted back then that it was an oversight.

The latest is that this will be released in November. Anyone gonna bite? I'm only buying it because I know that I will have it upgraded. If it wasn't able to be upgraded, it would be a pass, and that's hard to say because I love the Sovereign-class design!

The "All Good Things" version was on preorder forever and the dates kept changing. I'll believe it when we get a hard date.

I'd sure like to have an update on this ship, what has changed, and what the release date is.

The latest news from DSTChuck states that the secondary battery cover, which was absent from the first release, WILL BE INCLUDED this time. Upon reading that, I placed my preorder at NewForce immediately!

Had a Question. With the USS-Enterprise-NCC-1701-D Refit with the extra Warp Nacelle. Is the captains yacht able to be used in this Refit?

Did the Captains Yacht come off on the normal version of the toy?

Supossedly yes. But given that a honkin' huge phaser cannon goes over it, I don't buy it.

Since the feature was built into ship designs since TNG was in pre-production it's odd it never got used in any series. I don't think it was the costs. I like Voyager should have been using that thing all the time given how desperate their situation was.

Yeah, that would be my guess. It was never used in the show and the D version was just a big flying saucer but I feel practically the thing would get used at least a few times a year. The question would be what do they do with the yacht in the refit? Either turn it into the Captains swinging lounge for some extra privacy or shift it to the side of the cannon (which they didn't).

I like Voyager should have been using that thing all the time given how desperate their situation was. But I agree. I had that nitpick ever sence Voyager began and they lost their third shuttle (By then it was starting to push it given how small she was), that Janeway should have had them start to use the yacht, instead. And I do believe Voyager was supossed to have one, even though she was small. Though, I think the E-E's yacht was used in Insurrection just to prove the concept exists. Otherwise, reusing a Runabout would have worked just as well for the plot. A Sovereign is large enough that she could have one. Maybe even have explained it as DS9's, that Worf used to get to the Enterprise. Heck... trek nerds... they wouldn't have had to explain it, if it was the Rio Grande. (I still wonder where Dax was. He was already married by then. She would have made an interesting addition to the plot. And it needed all the help it could get) BTW, new fact about me... I am an absolutely HUGE starship nerd. I am obcessive over Trek Ships. Even used to have memorized stats, the way some kids memorize military jet stats.

Yeah, but with voyager... it was hard enough to buy the seemingly endless supply of shuttles they seemed to have. Now add a seemingly endless supply of Captain's yachts?

I am obcessive over Trek Ships. Even used to have memorized stats, the way some kids memorize military jet stats. It was certainly designed with one. They just never used it and it made no sense whatsoever. I think used the Yacht in the movie to show the fans it exists but it also made sense for Picard to try and sneak away on it. It's his own private ship and there wouldn't be anyone around, unlike the shuttle bays. I know that a Galaxy class could fit multiple Runabouts since the Enterprise is the one that dropped them off to DS9 at the start of the series so I assume the E could have one. I'm not big into Star Trek but I really enjoy the ships, and spaceships in general (especially space battle). Maybe that's why I enjoyed DS9 more than most because they actually went to war and we got to see a lot stuff blow up.

Then you would love this site: Daystrom Institute Technical Library
It's got a huge database filled with canon, backstage, and speculative facts about trek ships (Some I agree, some I don't). Neatest thing is he has a size calculator, that allows you to select different ships and stations and compair together.

That site is pretty intense. They have certainly done their research. That size comparison tool is nice.
Also, I picked this guy up today. I already have the old version of the E but I hear the new one has a secondary battery cover plate and the top struts are properly painted.

But anyway, I have had to return the AGT Enterprise-D twice now, so I hope the third time is the charm. It would be nice if Enterprise-E could arrive with no problems. Someone reported to me that DST screwed up the Enterprise-B, which is now arriving on doorsteps. He stated that the engineering hull has the name "Excelsior" instead of "Enterprise." I am still waiting to get confirmation. If it is the case, that is a BIG oops on DST's part. It'll be nice to have the big E back in my collection. I hope. |

Information is starting to come in now that Entertainment Earth has fulfilled some orders. The secondary battery cover is confirmed. The lights in the blue nacelle strips are confirmed. The shuttle bay observation window is clear, not red. And, it contains LED's, not incandescent bulbs. Here's a two-part video review:

Gotta say...the ship looks great, love the blue lights in the nacelles...but no "hold button to turn on just lights" feature? Was it really that hard to do?

No, it's not hard at all. DST didn't want to spend the time and money to "add" a feature. Cheap bastards. I'm going to have my friend check it out and add an "always on" feature.

I received the Enterprise-E today, and DST STILL just cannot get a good product out to us. Mine was previously opened, the markings are crooked, and I can't believe they STILL used incandescent bulbs! They only added 6 LED's to the nacelle strips, and kept the other lights the same as the first disastrous release. Plus, the light bleed is almost as bad as their TWOK Refit. This one's getting returned. Too bad it doesn't look like the prototype image.
