My Mego STTMP bridge arrived today. It is in excellent condition but will require a few days to be photo ready.

Yep-
owned this as a kid in the 70's: Also had Kirk & Spock... of course the only aliens they had to battle included a Mego Thing, Spiderman & a single Gorilla soldier from Planet of the Apes. My favorite part of that Enterprise bridge setup was the spinning transporter- placing in a figure & then twirling the middle button- pressing the red button to make him 'disappear'- then doing it all again & pressing the green button to make him 're-materialize'... used it for my Batman & Robin dolls... er, I mean, 'figures' too. |

Ho-lee crap that is awesome. Good work! I know that playset is super hard to find unbroken.

lots of complaints about these guys from McFarlane (from bad likeness to Picard being in a TV uniform but having a FC phaser) but they are actually pretty nice figures.Likeness really depends on the angle- sometimes they look spot-on... other times, not so much. they do need to come with more hand options though- the included one extra hand just doesn't cut it.

Custom Borg drone 1 of 4. I have wanted to make a 4" Locutus for some time, so I did some research. Locutus and many of the Borg at that time had brown undersuits. Later, by the time of Hugh and Lore we see some Borg with black undersuits, and by Voyager and 7 of 9, we can see gray undersuits, where they are even visible. I decided to use this to give my drones a little variation. The original figure has a brown undersuit and a red ocular implant. My first variant has a gray undersuit and a green ocular implant.

Custom Borg drone 2 of 4. Used black for this one. Found a slightly darker background too, but those white faces just blow the light back at the camera.

Well, McFarlane needs to start releasing a greater number soon, cause Picard and Kirk aren't a lineup. We at least need something akin to the DST lineup in number.

I think star treks biggest problem has been realeasing toy line that don’t go beyond the captains and a couple others. No ones gotten that Star Trek fans like to collect! The playmates line understood this and we got 1940’s crusher, and anok time kirk! If some one offered that over the top veriaty with a marvel legends duriability and articulation with alternate heads and lots of accessories. And do stuff like include one golden mini ship with each figure to build a TNG ready room display.... a man can dream...

I like the hollow deck idea with interchangeable backgrounds. It would be almost a shoebox diorama, but they could put lights and sounds. I think they should incorporate science themes into trek playsets make a warpcore set that really steams with a chemical reaction and changes color from blue to green with lighting... warp core breach, or killing the borg queen. Astrometric lab with touch screen to map routs through the stars. And it’s technicaly an educational toy. Klingon council chamber, (to display your Klingons) and borg hive( it would be a wall section of the ship where you could display your borg in alcoves). There is so much untapped potential in ST

My idea was 3 picture frame walls and the door in the fourth wall with the obligatory light and sound feature. Cardboard inserts for the backgrounds and items from the program to put in the middle. Put a metal plate underneath and magnets in the items to hold them in place. Have it come with 2 basic 'programs' like phaser target range or anbo jitsu ring. The box would be $50, like the bridge playset was at that time. Additional program packs would come in a ziplock type bag with 4 reversible cardboard plates and floor accessories and cost about $10 each. Special packs would be $15 to $20 and include special characters like the black Data from A Fist Full of Datas. The gimmick here is this is the only way to get the special figure, it does not come carded, so collectors have to buy those packs to get those figures, and might as well get the rest of them and the playset too. For DS9 you just make Holosuite packs that use the same playset and then more program packs for Voyager, all using the same core playset.

From what I understand, I think McFarlane has one or two Discovery figures coming, as a follow up to the Kirk and Picard. Though, I didn’t see any mention of that via NY Toy Fare. The first two were not without their issues though, so I can’t say I’m overly excited.
