I haven't wanted to actually specifically seek out products to see if they're out yet or not since late 2014 when I heard of new Bionicles starting to trickle into stores.

Well, you could set up a portable air cleaner, such as the Oreck ("as seen on TV") or any brand that contains a HEPA filter. Ask about them at any hardware store. They're frequently used by people who suffer from allergies or other respiratory conditions or a weak immune system. One side benefit is dramatic reduction in household dust.
This seems like an extreme solution for ordinary collections. More generally, if you're a good housekeeper, vacuuming regularly with a decent vacuum (and replacing the vacuum filter regularly) and keeping your home clean generally, dust shouldn't be much of a problem, but if it is, one would think that simple manual dusting ought to be sufficient. Obviously, if your collection warrants special consideration in this regard (mine doesn't), then you probably also give some thought to display and storage in some way that involves a closed, clean space with still air. Street dates need not apply. Found the new Star Wars Rogue One Black Series 6 inch K-Mart Exclusive Sergeant Jyn Erso (EADU).
A friend called me and said he saw this on the shelf and I ran to my local K-Mart on my lunch break and there she was. 4 of her on the shelf next to a fresh case of Rey (Starkiller Base). I am guessing the tube she is carrying might be the Death Star plans. |

I think it's still just called Force Friday like they did last year. I haven't seen any official releases from TRU or Star Wars/Hasbro give it a name but every website is still calling it Force Friday. It'll be September 30th but I'm sure some stores will do a Thursday night wait in line countdown to midnight event like last year.

I don't like how that Rey is just the previously released figure but with the additional lightsaber accessory now. It's like a small smack to the face of anybody that bought the previously released versions because it's the exact same toy but with a little bonus. Like at least the Kylo Ren has a completely different head so even though he comes with a different (kinda better) lightsaber than the original version at least it's a different look so it isn't a total repack/upgrade.

I could've seen them doing a scavenger gear version. It would be like the new Kylo Ren where they could reuse pretty much all of the figure but they'd give it new hands and the new head/mask piece. If they were gonna make a Rey with the lightsaber why didn't they make it the end look, the one I've actually seen people wanting in this scale.

So like, does Force Friday even matter now since so much merch has been leaking onto shelves?

My Wal-Mart's actual toy aisle pegs were as usual but then in the electronics section they had this big cardboard setup full of the new stuff minus any Death Troopers which were likely all taken for army building by the first people there.

You know, if I had known that Rey was going to be released A THIRD TIME, only this time with lightsaber, I would have waited, as opposed to going bananas hunting for her with TFA was in full swing. She is EVERYWHERE now...

Yeah, I waited to get the second release when they cleaned up her paint a bit and I was totally happy to have it and then they showed this one which effectively dissed me. I payed my loyalty by buying it back when TFA was new, Hasbro owes me a lightsaber!
