Happy Yub Nub to all!
Somebody had to post the link. Thanks to Dreadnox for the figure reviews. I really like the Rebels character and costume designs. There's a sense that the designers are striving for a return to the classic Star Wars look and feel, and Hasbro seems to be picking up the ball. Kanan's blaster pistol could be taken straight from one of Al Williamson's classic panel illustrations. Love it. Could 'realization' of Rebels characters be interpreted as a hint that they might play cameo roles played by real actors in the upcoming movies? Could that make these action figures more collectible? I ordered the package that includes 'Soft-Goods-White-Tunic-New-Hope Luke,' and while it struck me initially is kind of a spare tire, I look forward to it now. Strange how the Rebels characters seem darker than young Luke in color and appearance, making him seem more cartoony by comparison. |

Highly doubtful. Not impossible but highly improbable. They've "normalified" or made more "real" cartoon design characters in the past through their 3.75" lines and none of those characters in turn saw any screen time out of the cartoons. I think they are just making the 6" figures of the Rebels characters this way so they fit in better with all the movie figures. With a movie like Rogue One it's possible that a shout out or cameo could be made but I have to wonder how much stock they'd put into that actually being appreciated, yeah a good number of people watch the show but way more people who go to see the movies don't give a second thought to a cartoon chiefly aimed at kids.

Still, be cool to see one in a quick background pan shot. They might throw a bone to fans and an odd Easter egg here and there never hurt. Doubt it will happen, but still something to wish for.
Decided today that we are in need of a Rebels 3.75" shelf here at the old homestead of UKMU. Wasn't gonna do it. Staying away from that silliness I said. Force Awakens only. A First Order shelf and a Resistance shelf and that's it. A few Stormtroopers... just ten (if any of you know me, I tend to go overboard with army building, so ten is very conservative) a few vehicles and I'm out. No droids, no aliens, no random quick appearance characters... just the main good guys and main baddies and done. Well today..... thought, "right, need them, want them, might as well get them!" Not at all bothered about being 5 poa as all the rest are as well. Just getting the game now the 5 poa figures don't look out of place. Now if I had an extensive collection I wouldn't want the newer 5 poa like most understandably do not. Since we just got in on TFA seems natural to get a Rebels shelf going now.... I love AND hate that collecting is never truly done. Always more isn't there?

My Star Wars set up so far. That Captain Phasma eluded me for so long.
Have you been to Walgreens? They have exclusive WON figures, I got white Link and B&W Mario. Red link is around somewhere but I haven't found him. |

So I saw some cool new Star Wars Hot Wheels last night. I really like that they did this old school Clone Wars gunship in addition to the boring regular movie version and I didn't know the FO Star Destroyer was getting an individual release so soon.
Then I saw the new-ish 5-POA Captain Rex for Rebels. I don't watch Rebels but I knew he was on it now. What I did not know is that apparently after a clone's done fighting droids they turn their attention to the ice-cream buckets. Rex got himself a gut.

I actually saw Sarco Plank in theaters when I saw this movie the first time. His red attire made him noticeable to me. Constable Zuvio and his deputy on the other hand have remained damn chameleons until this point. Thank the maker for the power of pause and screenshots with home releases. Still not getting Zuvio's Black Series 6" figure.

Found 6" Kanan and Ahsoka at Target, didn't expect to find these figures yet. I passed on the puffy shirt ANH Luke.
