I'm very impressed with Ahsokas face paint applications, the tattoos and markings are all perfect. Given some other recent Hasbro releases, I thought it would be a chore to find a good one.

I can never find any of the desired Black Series figures where I live. All they ever have is Zuvio and maybe Finn. I haven't ever seen Phasma nor Jango in store. I got my Phasma from Amazon and I stop by Target ever week after I gas up my car

They're pretty much quickest off the mark here in the UK when getting new waves of figures.

Are there any plans for 6" old Obi-Wan or Lando figures? I'm surprised they haven't been covered yet.

I watched the first trailer for Rogue One and was left a little "meh" about it. I'm just not that terribly excited about the idea right now of seeing how a group of rebels stole the Death Star plans since we already know they get them. It just doesn't feel great enough to me to warrant an entire movie.

I've completed my collection of alien Jedi, I've only ever watched the films and original clone wars cartoon (the non cgi one) so have only got characters that appeared in those media.

As is just about the only things I'm hoping to look forward to in Rogue One is the idea that Darth Vader could be a/the bad guy. I wouldn't want a solo Vader movie. He was already a very well done villain in the originals and then the whole PT just ruined his past, I think he should just be reserved as the bad guy from now on. If anyone could actually benefit from a solo movie it's Boba Fett. If handled like a Clint Eastwood western they could maintain Fett's cool mystique while adding more notches to his belt. He was freaking cool in ESB because he looked cool, barely talked, and was the only one to successfully track the Millennium Falcon. Also it was pretty cool when he knew Luke was following him and he scared Luke off and Vader clearly had some level of respect for the guy. In RotJ however Boba Fett still looks cool but he acts like a drunk during the fight, matters are made worse in the special edition as he is shown flirting with the entertainment for no reason. Maybe he was just drunk throughout that entire movie after all.

Does anyone know Hasbro's plans for Rogue One? I read they're doing like 8 black series figures just for characters based off that movie. I recall seeing an article on like Rebelscum or something but I can't remember. I think Jyn and young Vader or whoever that villain force user is only seem appealing and i'm hoping Jyn is also Rey's mother. I don't particularly like the idea that Disney is going back in the SW's timeline in it's movies, I just get the feeling that these characters are all insignificant or will eventually die before Episode 6 or 7.

Plus don't we already know that they all die at the end! |

I don't know why but the idea of Rey's parent not being somebody from the original films would bother me. Like it'd be disappointing to me if her parent was just some new character they invented after her. Or maybe Rey's parent should go unnamed and she should be defined by herself and not just as (insert character name)'s daughter. Quote:
They don't necessarily have to die but it would be a little weird if they didn't. Like if they don't die then why wouldn't the Rebellion introduce them to Han and Luke after they blow up the Death Star and be like "okay you guys are our A-team, go save the universe!" Or why wouldn't they also get medals after the Death Star gets blown up? Stealing the plans that let you destroy something to begin with warrants a medal I think. Or if they don't die then why wouldn't they show up in ESB or RotJ to help out? Holy shit are we gonna get a movie about the Bothans who died to steal the Death Star II plans next?! Seriously though it's kind of the same reason I feel like Ahsoka has to die eventually in Rebels for sure because otherwise why the hell wouldn't she do something during the movie's time, like why would she not be involved with Leia in the Rebellion? This is why creators have to be careful when going back in their worlds because if they leave something loose then it becomes a plot-hole for everything else that came before. Hell Ahsoka's existence still bothers me a little since never once in RotS does anybody remark that time where Anakin was a master to a padawan, seems like something they'd remember/talk about.

I find this trailer more tantalizing than Force Awakens!
Re-telling a famous story in an engaging fashion is no small challenge. Call it the Art of the Re-Hash. 'Force Awakens' was successful because it essentially re-hashed 'New Hope,' giving us a fresh glimpse of old favorites and laying groundwork for some new, unresolved plot threads. Which is going to be more profitable going forward - continued indulgence of fan demand for nostalgia, or something completely new? 'Rogue One' looks like a brilliant way to balance the demand for another re-hash while adding new spin and hopefully some surprises. I suspect that it will succeed where the Abrams Star Trek reboot failed, because it avoids the worst decision, which was to throw canon and continuity out the window. Let's post the link here for fellow Ark members and friends: |

Let's post the link here for fellow Ark members and friends: The AT-ATs and seeing classic Stormtroopers did score this trailer points for me and I hope it is genuinely good because as the first non-episode SW movie it has to show that Disney wants to expand the story and not just cash in. Maybe Rogue One will finally be the movie where the on-screen Stormtroopers are "precise" and deadly.

Rogue One does look good. That said, when I saw the trailer for TFA I actually wept. When I saw this Rogue One trailer, not even a goosebump. But that's just me.
It won't be long now until toy fans and Hasbro haters will be complaining about the new toys. Cheaper plastic, smaller than original toys, lowered articulation. That should cover the "big three" gripes about 3.75".... Too small of character selection, sloppy paint applications and limited distribution....that pretty much sums up the 6" whines as well. I for one, am happy with Hasbro s offerings for TFA. I can see them putting toys out for this film and having aisles clogged up like Avengers and Marvel figures. They shot themselves in the foot with that. Curious as to where this path will lead us? Perhaps we won't get a "large" selection with Rogue One, maybe we will?
