the vintage Darth Vader is hands down the best for two reasons, 1.the actors likeness and 2.the 3 peice mask.

Honest answer this time. What I list are my favorite.
Bespin Luke: First VC figure I got and he is amazing. Jedi Knight Luke: Best one yet. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader: Gets on the list for articulation. Almost got cut because of monkey arms. Mace Windu: His lightsaber is amazing. The purple is very strong and it just looks great. Also he is my favorite Jedi. General Grievous: The idea of this figure is awesome. He gets on the list for the fact they tried to make him great. Didn't do it right but at least tried. Darth Maul: Only one you will ever need. Darth Sidious: They are all good!

I ask this question mainly because I'm interested in making a custom...which Star Wars figure, from any Wave, features the most articulation? Excluding droids and aliens, of course. Would that be the VC Maul, or has there been any other figure released that has a high amount of articulation?

So Palpatine has the highest amount of articulation out of all the human characters released up to this point...works for me. And the figure looks absolutely perfect for the custom I plan on making. I guess I'm going to have to buy one more. Thanks a lot.
(I hadn't realized how idiotic that must have sounded...you would think if I had already bought a Sidious then I would know it would be the figure I'm looking for...I meant to say "I guess I'm going to have to buy a second one when I buy the first one". Just wanted to clear that up.) Last edited by timone317; 02-24-2012 at 07:06 AM.. |

think i'm gonna go with:
Darth Vader with 3 piece helmet Jedi Luke Commander Cody with hologram and ball hips Bespin Luke i'd like the vintage Maul if i could bloody find him. also if i had Ponda Baba and Dr Evazan, i'd be super happy. and waiting on that Vader with ball jointed hips so i can merge him with the 3 piece helmet one. |

Question on Vintage Darth Maul's joints - can you safely pull apart his hips, or his "ball" torso joint? I want to take that belt/skirt off, but don't want to do any permanent damage (aka just cutting it off).

Please keep your homosexual innuendos in the DC section, guys. Thanks.
Not the best picture, but here he is with his helmet on. Solid figure that you might still be able to find for $5 at TJ Maxx/Marshalls. The only negative about the removable helmet is that it falls right off (mine does), but that doesn't matter for posing.

That Vader was in the ROTJ pack I picked up. Love the helmet on him even though it does fall off if you look at it wrong. And I too wish he had an unlit lightsaber handle. I just colored up a spare Anakin handle with a sharpie to match his. Not perfect but it will do.

yeah i was posing him around a bunch last night and i forgot just how loose his helmet is. always ends up with this open muppet mouth look that i gotta adjust. also added the gloves from the ep4 vader that came with the obi wan cloak. that one had 2 saber holding hands which i'm surprised hasbro doesn't make use of more often. i hate that awkward open palmed sorta beckoning hand. switched the saber out with a thicker handled version as well. all of this makes a diff in some way.

Well im nowhere near being a SW guy......BUT theres one character i JUST had to represent here..........the designer of the B-wing fighter,Master of the Rebel Fleet,Hero of the Battle of Endor, and my ALLTIME favourite SW character:
The newest Vintage Collection version of the Mon Calamari Admiral is THE definitive Ackbar, loads of articulation,a great sculpt(body+especially that awesome head),and hands that can hold accessories FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!! All together now......IT'S A TRAP!!!!!!!

Which Dooku figure is the best available?
And I'm not sure if this Anakin is the best version of Anakin from Revenge of the Sith but I think this is the version I'm going to go after. Which line is it from? Last edited by timone317; 02-24-2012 at 05:19 PM.. |

i'd say someone modded that one. head is from the evolutions 3 pack, tabbard has been painted black, and body is of the more current anakins with the ball jointed hips. arms might be the original elbow swivels vs the vader anakin ball joints.
dooku i'd say from the sith evolutions pack or the aotc target 2 pack version. i forget who he came with. |

Evolutions Anakin - good headsculpt, no ball jointed hips and elbows with only a pivot waist. Rebelscum.com: Photo Archive Legacy Collection Anakin - decent headsculpt, ball jointed hips, ball jointed torso, but has evolution swivel elbows. Rebelscum.com: Photo Archive Vintage Collection Anakin - ok headsculpt with vader eyes, ball jointed hips, torso, and elbows. but the arms have this semi gorilla look to em if posed just straight down by his sides. Rebelscum.com: The Vintage Collection Photo Archive but VC Vanakin comes with a good robe, articulation is the best there is, and it seems some walmarts have their vintage figures at 4 bucks which is how much i paid for mine sometimes this week. also i swapped out his left hand with a shorter hand from the Legacy Collection anakin. and only TLC and TVC heads can be swapped. the Evo set one would need to be a drilled a bit i think. |

I too swapped the VC Anakin left hand with the Evo pack Anakin and I managed to put the Evo head on the VC figure but I forgot how I did it (it's been a while).
