I have no problem with the other 3 ninjas. They actually look incredibly close to their first appearance whereas Noob has clear differences. I'll probably get reptile tbh. What I do have a problem with is someone trying to correct me when they are wrong.

The shapes going down the tunic sure looks similar enough to me. Here's a comparison pick of Mortal Kombat II next to Noob. He looks accurate enough from Mortal Kombat II for me to buy him. I couldn't give less shits about 100 percent accuracy when it comes to a toy, so I'm good either way. He looks accurate enough to me and that's all that matters. Though, if we want to get technical, he did look like a complete shadow with no detail in game lol. All I know is, My Mortal Kombat shelf is about to get a whole lot bigger. The costume you described with the vented masks and rectangular shapes on the tabbards never existed in any MK game outside of the Playstation Vita version. They were meant to represent the looks of the characters in UMK3, but were not carbon copied and borrowed elements from other MK games. The vented "motocross" masks were a worn by the ninjas in part 2 (in UMK3, the masks were smooth and sculpted, not vented,) while the rectangular patterned tunic was the standard costume for the ninjas in part 3, with the quilt of course being the standard garb in MK 1 and 2. Storm Collectibles ninja figures are largely based off the artwork for the "Klassic" ninja DLC skins for the console versions of MK9 with a few tweaks here and there. They were costumes that were stylized interpretations based on those character's appearances in the original Mortal Kombat games. The figures feature a hooded dogi to replicate the first game's look, but also come with vented mask accessories so they can be swapped out to replicate the looks of the ninjas in MK2. Here is a photo of Noob's "klassic" look, along with Smoke's, which was a free downloadable skin for MK9 during one of the game's numerous patches. Going off of that artwork, along with the gif of the figure, the figure does indeed represent Noob's "klassic" look...one of them at least, with this one being from the console version of MK9. "Klassic" looks are otherwise "klassic" in the eyes of the beholders...unless they are a true first appearance straight from the game from which they debuted. Man alive.... I can't believe there is a Mortal Kombat line that is so damn good, that we're all debating over accuracy like this!!
YES!

Yeah you're right I actually went back and looked at his original appearances and forgot he was hidden fighter in MK2. But the ninja look I'm referring to is in UMK3, where he first appeared as playable fighter. My bad

While the costume you described sounds like the one from the Vita version of MK9, if it's not, I would be curious to know which costume you actually are talking about. Photos and links help. EDIT: Just saw the previous post. No worries man. UMK3...I got ya...so your description is pretty close to the Vita's "klassic" interpretation of that costume. Makes sense. I was pissed that those UMK3 looks weren't included on the console versions. I wanted my UMK3 Rain...I wasn't a big fan of his harem girl look... Quote:
It's nice that someone is finally giving this license some proper love isn't? The wait for Reptile is AGONIZING for me... Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 06-21-2017 at 06:38 PM.. |

As great as these figures are, I wish WB or whoever is charge of distributing the IP would just have gentle giant do the figures like DC collectibles has with the DCTV and Arkham Knight figures. We could probably get bigger waves of characters with a smaller price tag.
Do we have a release window for reptile and price? Last edited by BobaFlex; 06-21-2017 at 06:49 PM.. |

My goodness people, I am more upset that I cannot tell who the pixelated characters are. Are you guys just going by the colors? The blue seems like Kitana because she is the only one I remember as having blue, but how on earth do you guys know the others? I feel completely left behind unable to solve the pixelated puzzle image

As for how we can tell...just showing our age I guess. I remember being in the arcade the night they rolled out the tester unit at my local Fun Factory. The demo at the time only had 6 playable characters and only one fatality for each of them, and only two or three stages. The buzz in the air was amazing, and the line to play it wrapped around the arcade. It was madness. That said...this version of Baraka was far and away my favorite. I hope if and when SC gets to him, this is the version we get. No yellow cat eyes, no goofy underbite and fangs. As a 13 year old at the time, who loved horror films growing up, this version of the character, with his silver gumless teeth and deep, black, soulless eyes legitimately scared me, a fact made more scary when we finally learned the truth about Mileena. It was a look that I felt the designers played with and softened a bit too much over the years as he got more and more cartoony, which went along with his almost joke character/whipping boy persona that was fleshed out in later games. All four of the pixel images come from the vignettes for the characters that were displayed if the game demo was allowed to loop......

I only started with MK 4, and then loved it so much (I know people hate it, but it has a fond place in my memory) that I played a bit of MK3 Ultimate. So I missed out on the first two. |

At the moment, unfortunately, no. Looks like it's a full on Bluefin booth exclusive at SDCC.

I wonder if they'll have a ton of them or not. I live in SD so there might be some local people I can bug to grab one, or my buddy said I might be able to use his ticket and go for the latter half of Sunday.

This is perfect as an SDCC exclusive. I LOVE the Scorpion and Sub-Zero figures, but I'm ready to get on with other characters.

Is it just me, or does Noob's head look a bit small on his body? I know that the head for Scorpion in the foreground of the fatality shot, but Noob's head looks relatively tiny compared to that one.

I love the look of every one of these figures and Im going all in, including the blood variant ones! I just wish they would pump up their production. I have had them on PO on BBTS for months now, and every month they just get bumped back to the next month. Im going to be kinda pissed if I get Noob Sabot before the other 2 ninjas. I bought a Noob from a friend of mine that goes to SDCC every year for 80, and I also bought a KO Noob Sabot for 34.99 off ebay to possibly costumize if the quality is good.
