Looks pretty cool.. But there's something funky about the proportions.

$80 or less, and an announcement of Subzero, and this is MIIIIIIIIINE!!!!!!

I like the Mezco figures, don't get me wrong, but they aren't the characters I grew up with. Kinda like Movie Optimus Prime is great and all, but for me, the only optimus is a cabover.

side note... Wonder why this is an Asian exclusive? I was always under the impression that Mortal Kombat wasn't particularly popular in asia.

I think his top is just making his shoulders look bigger than they are. Its like the 80s, but anyways. I hope this line lasts. None of these MK lines are lasting past a few characters.

Sub Zero and Goro were already shown at Toy Fair.

Storm Collectibles produces products only for the Asian Market (mainly Hong Kong). Bluefin does distribute a few of their items, licensing permitted.

hmmm... must have missed those. hopefully these sell well, I'd like more MK2-style characters, as I still consider that the best of the MK games.

Finally, Mortal Kombat figures in the style I've always wanted... and they're exclusive to Asia. Will definitely have to import these guys. This Scorpion looks incredible.

I guess Storm Collectibles is not very good at math, they say that this is a 1:12 scale figure but then go on to call it 7" tall. Either way you do the math that's wrong. If he is really in the 1:12 scale then making him 7" tall implies that Scorpion's height is supposed to be around 7 feet so maybe they made an error and meant to say 6". Alternatively, if the figure is 7" tall then what they really mean is closer to 1:10 in scale (though not exact) which would put Scorpion at closer to 6 feet tall which is closer to the implied height of the character.

Actually this figure is closer to MKII Scorpion than the original. The mask in 2 had the vent and was plastic where as the first one had a cloth mask. This looks more like the Klassic skin packs they had in MK9 and MKX.

Still though...this is a great looking figure. it says it has two different masks...wonder if the second is closer to the cloth.

I know. That's what I said... I said I want MORE of the MK2-style. "I want more MK2 style..." Not just the male ninjas, but also a non-tattooed Jonny Cage, blue vest Raiden, etc. Would love the whole gang of MK2... again, depends on price, and release date. I just got whammied in taxes due to an HR screw-up, so it'll be a while.

The wee tiny baby skull looks like it is for a completely different scale of action figures, but it is such a great accessory and essential to the character. It's a shame that it is so small though.

Sorry. I read that wrong. I thought you wanted them be more along the lines of Mortal Kombat 2 style. That's what I get for being on here right after I wake up. I agree with you completely though. MKII is one of my favorites because of the character designs. Be nice to get a decent looking Baraka and some female ninjas.

The skull isn't tiny, the shoulders are massively wide, due to the padded "vest". if you look at the skull, without the muscles, tendons, etc, it's smaller than the masked face, but at the proper scale to realistically be fit that face. also not "helping" is the bunched up hood around the neck area.

Also, remember that the game had a skull that was too large, for body scale, because they needed it to be recognizable as a skull on a dimly-lit arcade screen. Skull-face Scorpion head is the same size as face scorpion. Doesn't happen if you peel off the flesh and muscle.

Is it perfect? nah... but it's pretty damn awesome... this looks soooo much better, imho, than the $300 11" figure with all the bells & whistles.

Oh yeah. These were definitely worth tanking the Mezco line for.

Sorry but I'm still really sour about that.

For a 6" sized figure that is marketed as Asia only with import price it'll probably be around $50 to $60 in the states. Their 1/12 scale Bruce Lee figure is around $55 online and that doesn't even have any articulation so I'd expect these to be at least that much but maybe more since they will have articulation.

My Mezco MK figures fell apart and needed to be superglued back together. I'm ready for a quality company to make MK stuff... Will Storm deliver? Dunno yet.

Really? I haven't heard anything about them falling apart. The MKX Sub-Zero I have is probably one of the sturdiest figures I own.

The Jazwares MK9/Klassic figures on the other hand seemed to have left some bad impressions on people.

Yeah I've got three of the Mezco MKX figures (Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Kitana) and I have had literally zero issues with anything on the QC front.

Jazwares had it right with the Shaolin Monks figures. Those are my favorite ones so far...but how they could've gone from that to the MK9 figures was beyond me. More articulation and less of everything else like paint apps?

The figures made by Palisades and Infinite Concepts are pretty good too. I'd love to get my hands on those World Box ones.

Of those released so far I only have Raiden, but aside from what might be tearing on the clasp inside his hat, he has zero issues. But I'm interested in seeing the quality of Storm's figures.

I hope Storm Collectibles won't treat us like Mezco did. I was hoping for more characters from MKX but they just cancelled the line. For that I still blame Mezco, they could do different characters instead of 3 variations of each character. Actually I'm tired of Scorpion and Sub-Zero toys. Every company is making them like there aren't any other good characters.
I wish for Reptile, Ermac, Smoke, Rain, Cyrax, Sektor figures. I'd get all of them instantly. I just hope these sell well so that Storm Collectibles can make all the other characters.
