I'm with the people who don't really like the Anime look of the females. I think they look awful but I despise Anime with passion so I'm biased. I feel like Storm Collectibes... if they make female Street Fighter figures will look much better than this.

Not really. Cammy is meant to be British while Chun is Chinese. Meanwhile, a side-to-side comparison of both female figures reveals that they are pretty much the same aside from the color of the eyes (** see attached image**) .....
For reference, I will link you to an older Toyark thread of the RAH Cammy and Chun, where they actually look like the characters in-game. Best Photos Yet of RAH Chun-Li and Cammy - The Toyark - News |

I really don’t feel that Cammy. The face is rather weird. I have no idea why they opted to go with generic anime eyes on this one, and they also seem to be printed. Which looks a bit odd since they printed the eye, with eyelashes and all, inside the eye socket... without any real depth to it.
And the gap between the pelvis piece and the legs is just plain ugly. Rashid is okay I guess, but I don’t care about that character, and they also gave him a really creepy rape face here. Wtf Bandai. WTF. It's not like they can't sculpt faces. They literally have the in-game models to work off of. And Rashid and Ryu's faces turn out pretty accurate. Do they just have a mandate placed on them by marketing that says "make the women's faces flat, 2D, generic anime faces! People won't buy them if they're not 'cute'"? Edit: Same deal with Revoltech Spider-Gwen. The unmasked face looks 1) anime and 2) too small for the body. And it turns out they literally got a different sculptor to do the unmasked face, because.... Yamaguchi Katsuhisa isn't a good enough sculptor? Were they afraid he was going to make the Gwen face too... oh, I don't know... American? They had to hire an anime-face-specialist sculptor, who probably had poor communication with Yamaguchi, to do the face, and end up with one that's too small? Just wtf, Japan.... Ken looks pretty good, but Sakura's face is so over the top anime stylized that it's jarring to look at in comparison.
Hoping for a Juri and Sagat announcement from Storm Collectibles at Toy Fair, now that it's official that Sagat will be returning to SF5. |

Feels like Ken's missing a few inches of hair here.

It's based on his Classic or Story Costume from Street Fighter V. He has short hair in that.

What the heck is SHF doing ? I thought they were going for SF5 likeness but now that Sakura has been revealed it seems that they are just releasing everyone with their classis costumes/faces.
I actually think that Ken looks annoying (and seems to share a similar, if not the same, sculpt as Ryu). Sakura (while retaining the anime features) seems to be closer to the typical Sakura as we know her. Based on these preview images, both are a pass for me. What a letdown.... |

Ken looks a lot like SF4 Ken, which I thought to be interesting, but in the case of Sakura, it would have been nice to have received the modern, young adult design that SFV has now. Of course, even if it was the modern design, with that overly anime face she's sporting, it would have been ruined. Cammy and Chun sported similar faces, but they weren't game breaking. The eyes on Sakura are so large that they are really jarring. That's why I'm hoping we get a Juri from Storm Collectibles, and not Figuarts. Storm's version would look more likely to have stepped off of the TV screen, while Figuarts looks like it stepped out of a poorly illustrated manga. It's amazing how many years have passed, and try as many a company has, no one has been able to top SOTA's original Sakura figure. If you're a fan of the character, that thing is perfection! As for Ken looking annoying, as someone who has mained non-shoto characters with no proper fireballs over the years, Ken and all of his shoto-bretheren bear equal amounts of annoyance from me. Are people seriously complaining about Sakura's anime face?
I mean... where was all the complaint when we were pointing out Chun-li and Cammy's faces were too anime and look nothing like their in-game model? At least with Sakura, it fits slightly better. She's literally an anime girl. If they ever do Juri, it'll be a complete disaster. Imagine your standard anime doll-face with some eyeshadow. Completely devoid of Juri's crazy personality. |

In general I like Ken; 3rd Strike Ken onwards, I d say that he is not really a shoto anymore, adopting a somewhat more agressive style of play. His SF5 look isnt that bad (in-game) but since they were going for likeness across all the SF titles, friggin choose Alpha Ken or Third Strike ! He looked so cool there... its just unreal how stupid this decision was. Agreed on Chun, but I felt Cammy had a big deviation. Her 3D design actually looks British-American, and SHF just ruined it. Agreed on your SOTA point as well, but I will actually take it a step further and declare that both SOTA's Ryu and Ken were (imho) closer to classic Ryu and Ken. Bottom line, given the age and means available, SHF should have produced a significantly better line of figures for such an iconic franchise. |

I keep hoping they're do some alt colors, like a dark blue Ryu, but the new figures look good. Sakura is tempting

Pretty much what I was thinking, Ken cut his hair after the Alpha series, but it's never been that short like the figuart's. Maybe I'll like it better once more pictures come out?

I'll wait for Storm Collectibles to do an Alpha style Ken. SF2-4 looks too much like Barry Manilow or Rod Stewart for my tastes.
Sagat, however, I'm good with ANY version, as long as he's 8"+ tall at the 1/12 scale.

As for Storm Collectibles, their ChunLi looks very anime-ish too. As do ALL their game toys, including Mortal Kombat ninjas (they have an exaggerated, anime-like gradient tone to their paint jobs, anime-style generic ninja eyes, etc).
