Really cool idea, and the price isn't bad. I don't anticipate any Targets around here getting one of these in, but if they do, it would be kinda tempting to get a Stormtrooper of myself. Even if it won't quite lok like me, as I imagine I'll have to take my glasses off for the reference pictures.
Any idea what company is behind this? Would be kinda cool to see this used for other movies in the future. Most especially for Star Trek Beyond.

Too bad it's on those shampoo bottles bodies.
So basically $60 for a face. I noticed they're not doing hair, the Jedi is in hood-up robe, and the Stormtrooper is in his head-gear. And if you look at that African-American kid's figure, his face looks really small! |

Here's the company website:
3DPlusMe - A PERSONALIZED 3D PRINTING EXPERIENCE FOR CONSUMERS They offered the same thing at Comic-Con I believe, but for Marvel figures.

If this takes off, I wonder if they'll do it for Marvel stuff at some point. *Edit: Oh, they already do.*
Create yourself as an X-Man or Avenger. Unmasked spider-man can be you! All sorts of cool potential here for kids and fans alike. "Wanna be an agent of SHIELD?" and much much more. |

not worth it ! get your head commissioned by a good head sculptor, at what scale needed. The paint apps wont be that good , also it will be a funny texture to the face. with a sculpture as you can see on your figures have a nice smoother texture so 3d printing would make it rough looking rather than smooth
That's why hot toys figures are awesome. time + effort is made into these. rather than someting that takes like maybe 1-hour + maybe of you waiting for printing This is what you'll be getting is it really worth it ? Last edited by warmachine6; 11-11-2015 at 02:52 PM.. |

This is an awesome thing for kids. It's likely they'll find the joy here easier than most of us jaded eldernerds. If there was one here I'd definitely let my daughter get one.

I wonder how good these will look. The 3d printed head Danny Choo had made in Japan looked really good: Human Cloning in Japan

Hope it'll come to my Targets...if not I may be in Cali during xmas and would be cool to get. Does it give it to you right away though or do you have to wait for it.

Yeah. If you're an adult it's probably a waste being miffed about quality, I'm sure there's some other place that does it better. Can't expect Hot Toys quality for sixty bucks.
