Since this is not part of the 239 and I thought it was a good read I thought I would review it to share.
First off it is from March 1966 so it is a pretty old one. Not sure who drew the cover but it is pretty nice and the book itself is in fine condition. Right now I am not doing many Tales but the Hulk story in it is pretty important I picked it up. Right when you open the cover there is an ad for a 7 foot long Polaris Sub for $6.98. I thought COOL!! But it is made from fiber board so you can't take it down to the river but would have been cool to have when I was ten. Another interesting note is it advertises Sgt Fury #27 which is the story of how Nick lost his eye. Not an earthshaking thing but I find it funny because that book is in my box at Four Color and is coming home with me on Friday. I will of course read it this weekend (I run a game Friday night and can't do it then) so we all wil know the story. Well I digress into the book Sub Mariner "To Walk Amongst Men" Writer Stan Lee, Penciller Adam Austin, Inker Vince Colletta, Letterer Sam Rosen Namor walks among his people proud but aloof and alone. Earthquakes have rocked his kingdom and he feels he needs to go to the surface world to stop whatever they are doing. His advisers think he should stay but he is Imperius Rex. Lady Dorma wants to go also be he needs her to stay and watch out for the Behemoth. It was made when the kingdom was almost destroyed to safeguard it but they were unsure if it would help or hinder so they imprisoned it because it was more powerful than Namor himself. Namor leaves thinking that it must be weapons test but is surprised when he sees a drill burrowing it's way into the ground. He coming is noted by Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Namor comes up to the drill, stops it and turns it backwards to destroy it's motor. He then heads up to the surface but frogmen assault him. He easily avoids them and surfaces. The soldiers above shoots at him and he dives under going to a hatch he saw below. He enters and confronts those inside with Pym telling Namor that he needs to leave so the surface dwellers can work "or I wont be responsible" Meanwhile the behemoth breaks free. Hulk "Bruce Banner is the Hulk" Scripts Stan Lee, Layout Jack Kirby, Pencilling and Inking John Romita, Lettering Sam Rosen The Hulk fights the Executioner in the future. he is trying to take over a city but wants to destroy the Hulk. They are both surprise at how powerful each other is. Meanwhile Thunderbolt Ross bitches out Rick Jones saying Banner is a traitor and he thinks Rick is helping him. Rick insists that Banner and the Hulk is dead but Ross doubts him. They fired Banner's T-Gun at the Hulk (wonder if it is like t-shirts) and was vaporized. Unknown to them the Hulk was sent to the future. Ross wants to know what it was for and Jones says he doesn't know. Finally Ross lets him go but has Talbot follow the teen. In the future the battles goes on and the Executioner is surprised at how the Hulk is holding out. He commands his troops to attack the Green Skinned Goliath. They also attack the city. In the past Rick goes back to the cave where the Hulk hid and is wracked by memories. He feels haunted when Talbot finds him. Talbot can tell Jones needs to get something off his chest but doesn't know what. He tells Rick he can wait. The Hulk makes headway and drives off the invading army and Executioner who is angry. The forces from the city come out and tell the Hulk to surrender. They are afraid the Hulk wants to conquer the city. He growls but fades away. In the past Rick breaks down and tells Talbot that Banner is the Hulk. he figures it doesn't matter as he is dead. They walk off. But just then a whirlwind appears behind them as they leave. Yes it is key to me just for that. Now the Cover. |

It was Skurge, I just couldn't figure out where Amora was or where he got the tech from.
