Was wanting to start collecting Japan imports but can't decide between the two. Which do you feel has the better quality figures and paint apps?

"TAMASHII NATIONS" is an umbrella label that houses multiple toy lines. "Tamashii Nations" is not a specific toy line itself.

What kind of figures are you looking for? High possibility? Specific characters and themes? That can help us out a bit.

Well, I want to get SW import figures, i'm not big on the Movie Realization ones. I noticed Bandai and Mafex both have characters I like also the Dragon Ball with Bandai however i'm still unsure. I've been trying to find a figure list for each line but didn't have much success finding any.

Check out the S.H. Figuarts line from Bandai. They make some of the best figures out there, IMO.

I think that S.H. Figuarts is easier to get than mafex unless im being impatient with mafex, been trying to hunt the BVS line and some figures are either delayed or i just cant find, i want to avoid ebay if i can with these. I also see more S.H. Figuarts than mafex just so you know.

I'm not sure of MAFEX's availability, but the S.H. Figuarts line seems to be much more obtainable in most cases. Also, from what I have read from other's the S.H. Figuarts line is better quality/higher possibility than the MAFEX line.

I collect both and I prefer the quality of the S.H. Figuarts over the Mafex but I do really like both lines. The Mafex Vader is a much better scale than the Figuarts.

I noticed Mafex uses cloth on some of there designs while S.H. doesn't. I deff would want to pick up the Figuarts Maul but the Mafex Vader and Ren look much better and more accurate.

I personally don't care much for real cloth on figures of that scale but I can understand the appeal.

The MAFEX Boba Fett does look really good, however.

Go for Bandai - they are more reliable in terms of QC.

Mafez is ok - but alot of their figures have received complaints due to joints issues, dont get me wrong they have ambition however they lack that QC that you can rely on buying one figure instead of two incase one goes faulty.

I got my first Figuarts figure last week, SSGSS Goku and love it. I noticed though that Bandai has some scaling issues with some of their figures like Phasma, Hulk which steers me away from those 2.
