SMAUG! Needs more clarification though. I do hate that they keep packaging the same characters from their previous release with the new ones together.

The new 6" figures are looking good so far. The 6" figures in this line have been surprisingly good, yet sadly underappreciated. Radagast and Azog were two of my favorite purchases of 2013.

Hope that Yazneg gets released here in the US. That may be why their showing it. Even that 6" Bolg would be great even though that's not how he looked in the movie, I still like how it looks. And I hope they make Bard in 6" scale as well.

Thanks BD for showing your new product. Please, please, please get these out on the shelves or make it available online!!! I like your attempt at packing the orcs together, but we just need a new orc in that troop builder set.

Thanks for the Smaug box too. Hopefully, that thing will be huge when put together.

All in all, thanks for the new product. Can't wait to see your troop builder sets for the 3rd movie. Hopefully, you will have troop builder sets with multiple figures of dwarf soldiers, Wood elf soldiers, Laketown men soldiers, Dol Goldur Orc soldiers, and eagles. I think that covers the battle of the 5 armies.

Edit: Just had an idea for an SDCC figure. Maybe they will make a 2 pack with Beorn in his human form shown, and in Bear form!!! Just an idea BD if your looking for any ideas!!!

I'm all for the 3.75-inch scale figures! I have everything from Unexpected Journey and have the space set aside on the shelves for plenty of new 3.75-inch product.

This is a figure of Bolg from the flashback in the first movie.

Yeah I know, I meant from the Desolation of Smaug. So yes it is accurate to the first movie. Which is all the more reason to release it. And it is a great, big looking figure.

In the 9 hours of "Making of" footage in the extended DVD, this Bolg figure was initially going to be slotted as Azog. I think BD was given this figure image, and later in the making, PJ decided to do a CG Azog. Thus, they changed this figure to Bolg. It seems that this version of Bolg was changed again for DOS. So now we have a huge awesome looking orc that was seen for about 2 seconds during the flashback scene. In that scene, Dwalin strikes him with a sword, so now this random orc is presumed to be dead. In AUJ, this figure was never given a name, but the credits do list Bolg and the actor that played him (some dude name Conan).

It's unfortunate for us and BD that we lost this figure for the next 2 movies. I like this Bolg a lot more than DOS Bolg, and now BD is not going to make a DOS Bolg as the naming would be confusing.

I don't think that anything official has been announced yet, but if I remember correctly, the previous waves each arrived in stores around late October / early November.

Unfortunately, they weren't in attendance at the show.

Wish we could be at San Diego Comic-Con International this year, but make sure to checkout our friends at Weta Workshop and their booth for The Hobbit #3613 to get your Hobbit fix. Be sure to also keep posted for our upcoming announcement on our Smaug figure set to be launched later this fall!

So smaug is still on tap. I wish this line had done better. I really want not only the rest of the dwarves but all the figures shown. I at least had hopes for the six inch line. They fit in perfect with all the toy biz items.

Any word on them releasing items online only maybe?

Thanks for any news you guys can get.
