ThreeA Metal Gear Rex Update - Estimated Price
Estimated price revealed in this week's newsletter. About $490 which is pretty spot on with what we were all thinking. Glad to hear that they aren't thinking of much higher than that. But wondering how much that price could change... ThreeA Production Blog » MGS _ REX ONSALE 2ND MARCH- The World's Coolest Toy Company |

More Rex updates, he goes on sale March 2nd (2012) and they have pics of the final painted product...
ThreeA Production Blog » MGS _ REX ONSALE 2ND MARCH- The World's Coolest Toy Company Guess I hit up the wrong one... Anyway, I pretty much have enough to purchase Rex, so I'd really like to get some advice from any of you ThreeA vets on how to go about buying him off Bambaland. This will be my first 3A toy, so I've never bought anything from the site before. I've been reading stuff about cartjacking, quick sell-outs and all that, so I'm pretty nervous - I really wanna bag this amazing toy!! On the other hand, I hear the Rexes are made to order - if that's actually true then I'd need not fret over a sellout right? Anything would be greatly appreciated!!! |

Merged the Rex threads so we can keep all of the posts in one spot.
Will work on frontpage story when the Rex specific newsletter goes out this week. Last edited by Deefuzz; 02-28-2012 at 09:10 AM.. |

It's kinda lame actually. Definitely not one of the better mech designs out there. I'm obsessed with robots & mechs but this one is really lame.

Not that I actually had the money, but I'm late to the game as always. lol Seeing that one pic of someone holding it, it definitely looks large enough for 1:18 scale.

Definitely want this but I don't think I'll ever be able to justify the spending.

Very cool that they are offering at the same price as Bambaland.
I'm frightened to know what they will be charging to ship the thing though. |

This looks really cool. Can it sit up at all? Or does it just sit back all the time? The pictures don't indicate it can sit up...

I wouldn't expect it to be anything astronomical. Sideshow is probably one of the best dealers of statues that I've seen with fair shipping prices.

Personally i'm looking forward to see it on the shelf with my 1/48 Macross valkyries. They need more ground support since there are no destroids in that scale.... Hobby Link Japan just put up their preorders. Still waiting to see what's going on with Sideshow. |

Well, that's the weird thing. Usually new pre-orders go up on Thursday to coincide with the newsletter. But according to the newsletter, they're putting these up today. So, I can't really give an estimate as to when they'll go up. I guess it's one of those keep hitting F5 all day. lol I'd guess it would be in the late afternoon-evening time.

I was looking forward to being able to stick Joes in there as well, but they list Rex as a 1/48 scale figure and LEGO minifigures (if I'm not mistaken) are also in 1/48 scale, so I'm doubtful that I'll be able do the former. And that's gonna be one tiny Snake if that's the case....
*SIGH* I'm not metal gear fan, but im a big military mecha fan so this is a must have. |
