Now that we've seen the TIE Bomber, TIE Fighter, and TIE Interceptor with the newer redesigned cockpits, one TIE I'd like to see is the TIE DEFENDER. I mean look at it, it looks beast, and big. Seeing that the wings would have to be all new and this has potential to be the biggest TIE release, I would not mind paying $50+ for this thing.
The TIE Defender not only surpasses previous TIE's but just looks so sinister. Do you guys want to see Hasbro make one?

Actually that would be pretty cool. I don't see why they wouldn't either.

I'd love it, I'd also love the TIE Predator from the "Legacy" Comic series (which would be much easier for Hasbro to do), but sadly doubt we'll ever see either. The TIE Defender is from a video game that's veering towards 20 years old, and Legacy has already concluded its' comic run save for a few issues of a miniseries.
There's a ton of EU stuff I'd like to see, but with Hasbro back on the "We're all about the movies and very little of anything else" kick and likely to be so for the next eight years (as the 3D versions of the films come out), I think we won't likely ever get much in the way of EU vehicles, as the license will expire before Hasbro gets to them. Still, a TIE Defender would be awesome. |

I love to see one on shelves, but I doubt I'll be able to get one if it came to pass.

Screw fighters. I want capital ships. A Victory, Imperial, and Super Star Destroyer. Home One and Mon Cal Cruisers. 16"+ long please.

Personally I'd be happy with the return of an "Action Fleet" style series that was properly in-scale with each other. Probably couldn't get down to the "starfighter" level, but you could do everything from Corvettes (Titanium sized) to Star Destroyers/Mon Cal Cruisers (Starfighter Assortment sized) all the way up to the Super Star Destroyer (Current "Large Vehicle" size). Alas, it's probably a pipe dream, but it'd be awesome to see. |

I'm always worried that we'll get a Destroyer like we did in the early 80's. Personally, I thought that one was crap as a kid because I wanted the whole ship, just like my Falcon, X-Wing, Cloud Car and AT-AT. Granted, it would have been the size of the USS Flagg, but I was cool with that. Quote:

Likewise, a "die cast" Star Destroyer was fairly close to in-scale with the "Collector Fleet" Super Star Destroyer (and the Die-Cast or Micro Machine Corvette in-scale with the Star Destroyer from that same line, etc...) But yeah, it'd be sweet to have a consistent "starship" line that could give us the capships at a feasible size while remaining in-scale with each other. It's just probably such a limited market that Hasbro would never do it. Last edited by Jmacq1; 01-12-2011 at 11:35 AM.. |

If Hasbro can make the Droid Tri-Fighter, then they could possibly make the Tie Phantom or Tie Defender.
and i'd love to have both. could see paying $50 for the TIE-D, but not more than $30 for the Phantom. |

I remember a few years back there was briefly a rumor that EU vehicles were on the way: The E-Wing Fighter, TIE Predator, and...a couple others that I can't recall. Of course, it never materialized and now Hasbro's pendulum has swung back towards "movie-focused" with very little EU making it out (especially outside exclusives). The loss of the comic-pack line really killed the EU stuff for Star Wars. Anyway, like I said originally, I'd love a TIE Defender, but I just don't see Hasbro doing it with their current retail philosophy, and in all honesty, it's questionable as to whether they're going to continue to pursue the license beyond the 3D releases of the movies, as I think it expires just a year or two after the last film will have been released. Unless the live-action series actually comes into existence between now and then, because I'm pretty sure even Clone Wars will have ended by then. |

Amazon.com: Tie Defender Featuring Imperial Pilot & Moff Jerjerrod (Micro Machines Star Wars Action Fleet): Toys & Games I often wonder WTH is going on with some of those Amazon listings. There seems to be a lot of "used" items with ludicrously-high prices (like...no way they're realistically expecting to sell at that level high prices). Some kind of money laundering operation going on there or something? :P |

A TIE Defender would be bow ties. But I'd kill for an Imperial Missile Boat.

I just wish they would finally re-release the Action Fleet line. At least the main fighters. All the TIE's and A,B,X,Y-Wing fighters were in good scale to each other. And they go nicely with the Star Wars miniatures line.
But that's just me. I just prefer to have smaller starfighters. The ones for the 3.75" line take up too much space. Last edited by Iceman; 02-17-2012 at 05:26 PM.. |
