I recently got my first Hot Toys figure from a fellow 'arker who warned me that I was getting into something really addictive...in the span of about a week I dropped 8 bills on these things, lol. I won't name who got me into this new habit (rhymes with Log-Smashing-Crisco) but he was right.
Anywhoo, does anyone have any tips for how to clean the figures and clothing, remove wrinkles from clothing, and overall general upkeep? My first prized figure is sitting in a detolf case facing away from the sun. I'm sure there are some HT collectors out there with some tips. Thanks in advance. This is my first problem with them. I refuse to shit money on something and have it get destroyed.
I was really considering having an air tight sealed glass case just big enough for the figure and the stand built for that purpose. Arizona is BAD on dust. like hard core bad. Just be gentle. It sounds gay, but get a mini vacuum for the clothes. And if theyre just clothes. try an iron on a low setting. |

Sounds good. My cousin also suggested the mini-vac. He also said cello-tape works well on the rubber suits (e.g. Batman) for removing dust.
I agree with you. These things cost A LOT and I want to keep them pristine. I used to live in the Bay Area (fog-land) and I hear collectors there have major issues with moisture. |

I've never had any issues with mine, but if wrinkles are an issue just use a steamer. Treat them like real clothes and be careful, and everything should be fine.
