By any chance, does anyone know if Playmates is carrying the comic-based turtles forward in the upcoming waves ?
I've spotted many of these newly released characters, along with re-releases of a lot of the older figures, ALL on that same new card back. However, I haven't seen any sign of the comic turtles being restocked. No sign of them on their old unique card or on the new one. I kept passing on these guys, because finding them without paint issues was nearly impossible. Honestly, if it turns out that I missed out on them, I'm not sure if I'll feel irritated or relieved, lol ! Of all the TMNT comics, I've only read the Image stuff and some of the new IDW stuff, and I've never had much interest in the Mirage era (original or re-launch) or Archie stuff (well, besides a few old dog-eared Archie TMNT comics when I was a kid), so I'm not even sure if I really need figures based on the original designs. But anyways...

Looks like you can get the Mystic turtles on Amazon for $12 each. I'm not in a hurry to get them because of the lack of paint, but for those that need them, that is an option

So I finally saw my first Mystic Turtle. Just the one. It's weird how Mikey is supposed to be the most popular but whenever a wave of all of the Turtles comes out he's always the only one left at first around here (LARP Elf Mikey, Battle Shell, Mirage, and Mutations were the other times for me).
But egads! The unpainted apparel on his feet make it worse than I expected! It just looks like someone fell asleep at QC. It physically hurts to think that this is actually the norm for them

I have seen the comic turtles packaged with comics at Toys R Us but beyond that I have no clue if they will be re releasing them.

I haven't seen the comic-based figures in any of the recent restocks. Just the mutations, re-releases of older figures and the Mystic Turtles.
Ironically, I'm still hunting for Comic-based Raph myself.

I saw the remains of a case at Target today, shredder, Bebop, robo foot soldier, original Raf and Donnie, and Dog pound. all on the new larger cards. the list on the back has Baxter fly, and turflytle listed. I thought it was a little weird that they re-packed Dog pound since he's kind of gone forever, but what the hell. has anyone seen Baxter yet?

Yeah I saw Dogpound, Shredder 2, Casey, and Robotic Foot Soldier on the new cards. I just assumed they came with the Mystics or a relaunch wave.

On Rangerboard.com I saw someone with a Stockman Fly from WalMart. Need to go by there for groceries today and will definitely keep an eye out.

Really can't get my mind off the Revoltech figures. But I can't justify paying $240 for the set. Do Revoltech figures hold their value or do prices drop after awhile. If I can find them somewhere cheaper in a few months I'll wait.

it'd be so nice if these things were released domestically for like a $50 price tag. with how popular TMNT figures are these days, it's a shame that they don't. |

Picked up Mikey Turflytle and Stockman-Fly late last week. Still haven't seen Karai yet, but she's the only one I'm really hunting for at this point. Still have zero interest in the Head-Poppin' or Mutations figures.
On the other hand, those Mystic ones are still on my radar.

Was Karai due out at the same time as Turflytle and Stockman-Fly? I never know when they are coming out until other people start finding them :P I thought it was weird that they put out 2 of the head poppin turtles but not all 4...

I saw a karai a few days ago. Just a single one. Would have bought it but a kid beat me to her and I'm not at the point where I'm gonna die without her. That's the one thing I like about the turtles line no figure has been hard to obtain at retail.

I just happened to pick up comic Raph today He'll most likely be the sole figure that I pick up from the comic line, because, quite honestly, those figures didn't really impress me either.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm surprised that they are releasing more detailed figures considering how much Playmate Toys like to cut costs. But, check out the variations on this Mikey figure. They had new paints of all of the turtles at my local Target.
Still no sign of Karai.. I'm surprised that one person on the board said they saw her.. I have been following her on eBay and she' only been listed in the United Kingdom, Australia and oddly New Jersey. But, Australia is the only listing now. People are asking waaaaay too much for her. And if they're asking for a reasonable price the shipping from Australia pushes it out of reason. I hope she isn't the first hard figure to find in the States. Only time will tell I guess. But, has anyone else seen or heard of these detailed repaints? Wondering if I should snatch mine up while the getting is good. |

Does anyone know if the Turtles 3A is doing have elbow joints? All the pictures of Leo and Mikey make it look like the either don't have them at all, or that they have joints underneath a ruber skin.

It's nice that they've added more paint, but the eye paint just looks awful. I would love it if they used the battle shell molds, only, I'd like them to disable the gimmick and just give them a normal shell to improve arm articulation, then paint those figures nicely. That would be ideal. I think the battle shell versions are the most accurate molds we've seen thus far, but the hinge on those shells just disrupts the natural 'arms to the side' pose. |
