Glad the warriors 3 made it in. They I'm a bit disappointed with no valkyrie.
Destroyer will be worth picking up. |

Marvelousnews has confirmed: No comic series for Thor. Supposedly they have plans for comic-based figures later in the line, but we'll see if it even makes it that far.

Eh, I'm content with my Marvel Universe Modern Thor. Marvel Universe versions of Thor comic characters will probably be better anyways.

Also, by my count there's only two more figures to come out in the Thor line this year (I believe the presentation said 20 figures and there are pictures of 18 at Marvelousnews, unless I miscounted). |

I'm really enjoying this line so far. They had A LOT of great characters, and the few renditions of Thor are actually pretty decent so we aren't too innudated with lots and lots and lots of Thor repaints.
The movie versions of these toys don't seem too bad when compared to the comic versions. They are obvious differences but they aren't totally deviations. I also like that they gave the Warriors Three, Sif and some of the other characters real weapons on top of the gimicky ones. Some of them aren't shown in these official photos but they were shown on display. |

While I'm disappointed in no comic line, I'm really stoked over this line{yes I'm a big Thor fan}. Afterall we're getting pretty much every important Asgardian even if it is their "movie" likenesses. I really was expecting like IM2 with huge numbers of Thors{yes they are there} but with very few other characters. Most of the movie likenesses are pretty close to the comic versions in fact I think I like the horned movie Loki better than the MU one we're getting. Oh and Jmacq, one of the figures you're missing in the 20 Thor figures could be the Frost Giant as he's not been shown at Toyfair or I missed it. And the King Laufye{sp?} figure.

I feel underwhelmed by this line for some reason. Destroyer looks good. I hope they refer to the hammer as Mjolnir and not just Thor's hammer in the movie.

You're really gonna buy the figures?

Is it wrong for me to have hoped for it being more...Nordic? I don't see Futhark runes anywhere on them, and I am upset that Odin isn't being packaged with his spear, Gugnir.
Please tell me we'll be getting more gods like Baldr or Tyr. |

As for Balder and Tyr...probably not, as it doesn't look like they're in the movie, though if the line takes off there's a chance we could get a comic-based Balder, however as it stands now we've seen everything they're making for this line minus the Frost Giant figures. |

I don't know about "wrong" but it's based on the comic-book Thor, which has rarely been particularly "Nordic" in its' design and aesthetic. Though Gugnir would have been appropriate as from what I can recall Odin's used it in the comics.

I don't think anything in the first assortment(s) is going to be particularly hard to find. There's a slight possibility of "troop building" Frost Giants, but I think some folks are disappointed that they're not much bigger than the regular figs.

Actually, have people been spotting them in stores yet? I saw Wave 1 in a Target ONCE and I'm afraid it may've been a fluke.

The "official" release date for the Thor figures is March 1st. A few stores have leaked them early (mostly Targets from what I've heard). I've seen bits and pieces (Helmets, 8" figures, SHS packs) here and there but no 3.75" figures. TRU has a sizeable section already set aside on their shelves for them, but the pegs are (for the moment) empty. Come March 1st though, we're probably going to get flooded with product. Much like the Iron Man 2 line, I'm betting nothing in these first couple of waves is going to be genuinely difficult to find after the initial "collector rush" wears off in a couple weeks. |

Haven't seen them yet. I don't think I will pick any up, I've heard people say the new trailers look good but I'm just not very excited for the movie.
