I do not believe he was ever working alone, but as the Manager it will all fall to him. Thats the nature of Corporate America. My company (the one I work for) has changed managers 15 times in 5 years

Well, if we know that, we can't really bust his chops about it! A captain always goes down with the ship, but it isn't always his fault that it sank.

Captain Smith Titanic. Not his fault. He was in his quarters when the ship hit the Iceburg sleeping

I got to say, nothing surprises me more than the amount of people who go to great lengths to defend Scott and try to shine him in a positive light. When it is a FACT, and not an opinion that everything about the man is fake. The only thing real about the man is his overwhelming arrogance and flare for pathological lying. Personality faults aside, it has been proven way too many times that he has blatantly lied to the customers. He passed the buck on every negative issue the line has had, but claimed full responsibility when a product is praised by the fans. Unprofessional behavior like that shouldn't be rewarded or commended, but instead we see hundreds of revisionist historians posting about how Scott was an essential element to the success of MOTUC and/or other matty brands.

@KITT
I definitely hear where you are coming form, but the recent trend in corporate America has been to reward upper management ineptitude with a plush severance, stock options, and a higher paying job at their next position (where they will inevitably stink it up also). "Golden parachute" anyone? It's for this very reason that "informed" members of the working-class are up in arms at the current state of affairs regarding income inequality and the general lack of accountability enjoyed by the plutocratic-class. However, as it pertains to Scott, I don't know enough of the inner workings of Mattel to determine how much of the blame he owns (I'm sure he is complicit, at the very least). I didn't like the insensitivity he sometimes showed to DCUC fans, but I can't imagine that he was the only "spoiled apple" making decisions on that line and ultimately ushering in its demise... |

Neitlich definitely wasn't the only "bad apple" at Mattel, but in the case of mattycollector, which is an offshoot of Mattel and more or less a separate entity... Neitlich was the main man running things. He even admitted it... and even though he lies, I doubt he would lie when it comes to pointing out that he is the big shot at mattycollector. It's bizarre... He will admit to being the big boss at matty, but then in another conversation he will say that he has absolutely no control over most of what goes on at matty... it can't be both. LOL! People that don't know the facts and think we are just jealous haters need to do some digging, find videos of him and watch them, listen to some podcasts that he is in, then read his online posts and compare... you will see many inconsistencies and contradictions which can only lead to one outcome... and that outcome is that Neitlich was not any real benefit to the MOTU property. Smoke and mirrors people... smoke and mirrors. Don't get me wrong, I will give credit where credit is due. This isn't me hating the guy... just telling it the way it is.
At any rate... he is gone, and that's great. Unfortunately too little too late... and the damage is done. |

Jakks is a joke. Nobody makes a conscious decision to leave Mattel and go to a LESSER toy company unless they absolutely have to. I think he found out his days were numbered at Mattel, so he sent his resume to EVERYONE in the greater Los Angeles area. I don't buy that he was reduced to a contractor and lost his benefits, but it might be part of the story. I think he stepped on WAY too many toes at Mattel and the higher ups just has enough of his BS. Jakks was probably the best he could get in such short notice. At any rate, I'm sure he's not happy there. He's not getting the attention he's used to over at Jakks. I mean... we're talking about a man who LOVES being the center of attention, whether it's exclusive interviews, VIP on forums, having his own splash page on a company website, Vanity projects, immortalizing his likeness in plastic, etc. etc. Jakks doesn't seem to be an outlet for him to do such things. This is why we are still seeing AFI interviews with Scott Neitlich, talking about everything BUT Jakks. I'm glad though... I see it as a form of karma. What goes around comes around and this is payback for all the swindling and lies MOTUC fans had to endure for the past 8 years.
