Man that looks neat. I keep on feeling like I want a Gipsy Danger v2 since mine is the one from the Leatherback two pack which is not as nice. The thing is I want it to be a notably different Gipsy Danger, so not just Hong Kong Brawl, and I also don't want it to be missing-limbs-level battle damaged like Anchorage Attack or Reactor Blast. I have my eyes possibly set on the later release Battle at the Docks Gipsy since she's still whole but also covered in Kaiju blood to be different. Regardless of which one I may get they're all pretty cool and now that they've shown Striker Eureka v2 maybe they'll also do an upgrade for Crimson Typhoon.

I recently snapped some photos of the Pacific Rim figures and they are amazing. I have liked them since day one as I was a big fan of the movie, but the new versions are WAAAAAYYYY better than the originals. I went crazy and now have them all, and I am really glad I did. They all complement each other so well. I am really looking forward to the new Kaiju they showed at SDCC too.
Any idea on a release date for this one? I see it is listed on TRUs website, but I haven't found it in any of my local stores yet. |

In my recommendations Otachi is the best Kaiju figure, though also the most expensive. I prefer land Otachi but winged is great too. Knifehead (battle-damaged or TRU exclusive) is really good. Leatherback is okay, he's the right size and he looks good but his articulation isn't on par due to his gorilla-body.
As for Jaegers, Cherno Alpha is my most highly recommended. It looks great, it has very usable articulation, and it's solid. Next would be Horizon Brave, similar to Cherno but also has a missile launcher gimmick. I personally really like having Tacit Ronin but as a figure I would barely recommend it unless you also really like the look of it. Coyote Tango is one of the best looking in my opinion but it can be a bitch to stand and much of the articulation is limited by its design.

Yeah you are absolutely right about the limited movement, but Leatherback is so screen accurate that he is easily my favorite Kaiju. I like Otachi just as much, but the cost brings him down the list to me. There is just no reason for his cost to be nearly 3 times that of others and I really feel like the are similarly sized other than Otachi's tail which is cool, but again a bit too much. I am going to eventually have the flying version, but I really don't want to pay full retail for it...

I scored big on my LB two pack thanks to Thinkgeek having that thing in stock for awhile even when the prices for the single carded one jumped up. They eventually discounted it to 30 and I scooped it up. I just checked them out again today and they have a handful of PR stuff under retail. |
