I fully expect these molds to be re-used for another set of exclusives. They're attending NYCC for the first time in a while and will have exclusives for that event.

Great photos, figures look great. Wish I had them, sometimes it sucks being from the UK.

I really want these for this deco (and awesome packaging). I know I'm going to get the SH Figuarts Turtles, so I'll have them for the cartoon deco.

Wow! Thank you for such brilliant shots of the new NECA set Joe! I am patiently waiting in South Africa for mine to arrive next month! So this is keeping me satisfied indeed!
What is the reflective surface you used for the base of the photos? I'f really like to display these figures in a way that you have... Thanks! |

Thanks for the kind words and welcome aboard. I use a large pane of glass for the shoots.

Amazing photos, even more amazing figures. I need to own any and all NECA TMNT. I still can't believe they have the license back.
I surprised that people sweat over the SH figures so much. Just because they are more expensive doesn't make them great. Look at the Dark Knight Joker they showed at SDCC. It's a far cry from the NECA one. Not to mention the Alien and Predators they made😝 |

I had not seen that Joker before and yeah NECA's looks wayyy better. From what I've gathered online SH does make some good (or great) quality products but when it comes to looks (on their humanoid figures) NECA comes ahead. Of course I'm also biased against the price of SH figures.

NECA's Joker definitely looks better than what SH showed at the convention. Obviously the SH figure has more articulation but it lacks details compared to the NECA version. SH doesn't put out that many figures that could be said to have an actual likeness for comparison since cartoon characters are much easier to pull off. Their Bruce Lee and farmer Luke have great faces and most that have actual faces capture them well but their bodies' sculpting is too easily broken by the articulation and so some characters (like the Joker) who are much less physically active kinda suffer as a result. I guess since NECA does a lot more figures based on actors' likenesses they've done and nailed more faces simply due to the variety of their licenses. I mean it's not even based on an actual face but the likeness on the upcoming Nathan Drake figure is pretty amazing. SH is great, I've already said that, but they focus more on masked or cartoon characters so I don't think of them as a company that does faces because they don't do them as often, they do them well when the make them but it's just not frequent enough.

Anyway, the SH Figuarts figures IMO represent the heavily marketed T-Shirts and other advertising for the TMNT in the 80s. IMO they don't look as much like the actual cartoon than the NECA ones. Not to say they are bad, but to me it looks like they based on the Marketing. |

And as expected, the Chinese KOs of these are starting get to show up on eBay...and in record time no less. They're selling them seperately for army builders, and even selling just the boxes.
Of course, CVG Shredder is sold out on nearly all of them...lol |

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but what's up with Shredder's cape?
Why did they decide to make it tattered unlike the game appearance? Is it just a reuse from another NECA figure? If it's the only cape they had and it fit, sure, but otherwise why choose such a different look from the game when they tried so hard to replicate the game in the first place? |

I wanna say that I remember reading somewhere that it was between three and five thousand, but that feels a little off.
It's been bootlegged though for quite a while now, so who knows how many are floating around out there. |
