Here is something new we decided to do once a week at ToyArk.com, our very own Top 5 Toys of the week. Now there are many of these floating around on the web, but not like ours. With scientific backing and the ability to be 100% accurate every time we post it, debate is not even necessary. However if you feel the need to post your own list along with ours, me and the rest of the internet will have no problems breaking down the plastic facts. Now onto our list!
[*]1. Masters of the Universe Mer-Man - Not only did a recent auction demand over $200.00 for his early release from the clutches of a Mattel Warehouse, low print runs and instant sell outs over at MattyCollector.com have caused He-Man to heat up the market, leaving even hardcore fans without key figures from the line. [*]2. Marvel Universe Fury Files Captain America - Ultimate Captain America is in high demand along with the rest of this outstanding line. Waves 1 & 2 sold out at break neck speed forcing Wave 3 to show its face at US retail this week. For those of you who are missing early wave figures and are looking to complete the line, do not sleep on the Wave 1 Punisher before the eVIL-Bay prices catch up to the demand. [*]3. G.I. Joe Hall Of Heroes Cobra B.A.T - The Hall of Heroes was released this week with one of the most requested figures from the Modern Era G.I. Joe Line finally making it's way to retail......the Battle Damaged Cobra B.A.T.! Again do not sleep on picking one of these up because the demand is way high and so will be the mark-up after these are sold out. The Packaging these 10 figures come in is the best we have seen yet for the line, check'em out if your into MISB. [*]4. X-Men Origins Wolverine Deadpool - Even tho Hollywood managed to destroy yet another iconic character(*See G.I. Joe Cobra Commander), Hasbro was very smart to release a classic 3 3/4 version that just about everybody I know has purchased. Must have figure for any Marvel collector. [*]5. Exclusive Transformers Henkei Classics Dirge & Thrust - With the average starting price of $150.00+ for the set that was released this week you can bet Transformers fan boys (like me) will have a cow when Hasbro decides to make a version of these available to US retail for just over $10 each. IMO they are a huge pass for that kind of cash. Our runner up this week was G.I. Joe Movie Rise of Cobra: Cobra Commander. My only questions is why did somebody almost pay $200.00 on eVIL-BAY for the worst designed Cobra Commander in the history of G.I. Joe? Let the debate begin.....................

As for the others, I don't own Mer-Man, but if I could afford him, I probably would. Cappy and DP are must-buys for any fan of Marvel toys. Also, I'm quite content to wait on Hasbro for Dirge and Thrust to come out (someday).

A few of those wouldn't rate up there in my own list, but that would just be for monetary reasons. Transformers....yeah, way too much $ for me I'm not a fan of the HOH figures. Well, I like the figures, but not the prices, especially when I've already gotten most of them with slightly different colors (or better molds) for half the price. The Bat is cool and I'll wait to get the exact same one in the 7 pack for cheaper. I just wish one of the two would have the "dirty" black and silver paint job so that it doesn't look like a cheap pewter figure.
Deadpool is awesomeness as is Cappy. I'm warming up to the hip ball joints on the Origins figures than the MU figures. The plastic T-Bar on the MU figures feels like it's gonna break at any moment to me while the Origins hip balls feel solid |

Good! I like the hip ball joints a lot on Deadpool and such, but I have this fixation on kneeling figures so it's a plus for me. The t-bar does frighten me on a couple of mine too, but I'm not hard enough on my figures to have to worry too much. I liked the list, but I don't think Cobra is worth the top 5, unless it's because of buzz. Deadpool should remain on the top 5 for weeks to come. Deadpool didn't just set the bar for the Marvel figures, he is the bar. |

How did I forget to mention Deadpool??? He is unbelievably cool! Best fig of the year so far in that scale, IMO

Cool, I like this top 5 list. Hopefully, I can get Mer-man from MattyCollector.com on Wednesday. I still have yet to see a wave 2 MU Cap at retail but I'm hoping wave 2 will be refreshed in at the stores in my area in the next month or two. I got the Hall of Heroes figures in this past week and I have the Botcon 2007 Dirge and Thrust as well as Deadpool. So I pretty much have/will have all those figures listed in the top 5.

On average I probably play with Deadpool everyday, and the hype surrounding the movie only makes me happier to have him. When I started getting into Marvel Legends I wanted the Deadpool fig so bad, but by that time I got to ebay it was going for like $60(I'm a late bloomer to ML).
Anyway, you could imagine how overjoyed I was when they made the Deadpool in my favorite scale. |

Mer-Man is the top because his leaked eBay figure went for a high price?
That is flawed logic. While I do like those MOTUC figures the mere annoyance that they don't make enough for demand bothers me. I'll just continue to wait until Mattel gives in to let the regular retail outlets sell them. I also don't see how the worst Cobra Commander ever imagined got to be runner-up. |

The Mer-Man might be the second best figure in the line.

That mer-mann definitely belongs on the list. He looks fantastic. Even his counterpart from the 02 line was great.

I hope Thrust and Dirge can be brought over here next year, they are far superior to the Botcon versions which had stubby wings.

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but the new CC is sorta......growing on me. When I first saw the new pic a few weeks ago on here, my immediate reaction was........WTF? But now......I dunno. Especially seeing the figure, I think it is.....so/so. Not my favorite by any stretch (that would be the armored version) but I might be inclined to pick it up. Not for $200, though.

Mer-Man will be mine tomorrow.
I found an AFA graded set of the Hall Of Heroes on ebay. The others look great, but I don't collect those toy lines.

I guess it's regional, or on a store by store basis then. Because my store has plenty of Marvel Universe. Then I got to a walmart and they're out. *shrugs*

I still haven't seen the Green Goblin yet (Who I want) And I'm waiting for a non-Ultimate cap, which seems to be the version in the defenders box set.
Origins are Flooding, with the exception of Deadpool. i recently moved to Florida, and it is the same thing, I haven't seen a Marvel Figure yet.

Plenty of Deadpools & the rest of the movie/comic line. The animated line seems to be warming the pegs too. |
