The cutting of the upper legs, why is it that it seems only japanese or asian toy companies have figured out that putting a large cut on the legs looks really bad, especially when you will have big chunks showing as soon as u move the legs out of it's original pose. that stupid tummy joint, they are and always will be ugly. and finally that size problem. OMG WHY CAN'T USA toy lines agree on a scale! Ab Crunch. Agreed again, I HATE it. Completely destroys most sculpts. But, it's getting more and more difficult to avoid it when buying action figures, so I've learned to just accept it. Same with most POA. I could do without 90% of it and be happier than a fly in poo. But, I am in the minority… Size. There we disagree. The companies I collect and care about are all about the same, scale-wise. NECA, McFarlane, and DCC. None of them work with the mass retail stuff from the bigger companies and that's just fine with me, since I don't buy it anyway. It's all my opinion, of course. |

Amazon has Batman for a little over $18 which seems like a pretty good deal. May go for it but I haven't decided yet.

That’s a great deal. I’d go for it. These are actually great dc figures. Only thing that’s a little iffy on them Is their ankles. Weird as hell articulation down there. Other then that they’re great imo.

Agreed, I hate thigh cuts. I don't care about articulation, but if there has to be some, it should be anatomically correct, at least. I've never seen a real human with thigh cuts. Except for maybe Lieutenant Dan.

Haha! Don't do that. I don't need the figure itself to look like a real human, but I'd rather it not look like some alien insectoid that can auto-fellate while doing a backbend. My main reason for this is what I've stated before, that too much articulation kills the sculpt. That's why I buy figures, for the character and the sculpt. I don't care if the tops of it's feet can hit the back of it's calves.

Ugly articulation is a deal killer for me, especially the dreaded 'ab crunch.' @Tony: The Stark figure in THIS PHOTO is Figuarts, yes? Great sculpt, imo. Last edited by Skoob; 08-18-2018 at 04:45 PM.. |

Not alone at all! That’s still my favorite toy line to date. That’s including Marvel legends. Dc Universe were simplistic yet amazing sculpts. I’ve bought more Dc universe classics this year then Multiverse or any other dc line. Their Aquaman,Ares,Bane baf, And Wave 16 riddler still hold up today. Bought a fair amount of DCUC myself lately including the Kalibak baf (so good) and Despero and definitely want a bunch more. Articulation isn’t always that great or consistent but they have a better success rate of translating the characters straight out of the comics than ML, which doesn’t always do it for me. Lots of great sculpts.

Really? I think Hasbro puts out vastly superior female figures. Mattel's women looked like twigs, which is not how Barda should look.

I was mainly talking about Dc Universe male figures. Their head sculpts in particular. I don’t count Dc Universe women haha. They’re on the same level as Early Hasbro/toybiz female figures but done Slightly better. Most are bad. Only dc Universe female figures that are acceptable in my opinion are Stargirl, Platinum, and Wonder Woman.

I agree with everything here, and I'm busting a gut laughing, especially at the Lt. Dan reference.

Awesome Review/Pics as always Tony. I’ve only got Flash and Reverse as of yet. They’re great figures but like you said the Overlong Arms are a Problem. But I can look past that the only true problem I have with this line right now is the damn Ankle joint makes it near impossible to stand them

I'm thinking that while the arms are slightly long, the other problem is that the torso isn't wide enough, to borrow the terms, the torso is closer to idealistic (or even fashion), while the limbs are heroic proportioned.
It doesn't really matter though, I don't think I've been happy with a DC figure since the Supervillians Superwoman and I've bought one figure since then. |

I was showing a friend these pics this weekend. He noticed this and I think it's the perfect way to explain what bothers me:
Yes, Batman's legs are a little further out. Yes Black Panthers arms are not full straight. And his shoulders begin farther down the body. But even with all that, it shouldn't be that drastic. |

Have to agree a little. I wish my DCUC Power Girl was just a smidge more beefy. She's NOT a Featherweight.

Shows the start point on the head, shoulders for each, and then the fact their fists are parallel with each other.

This is why I'll probably never buy a DC figure. They do this weird scale nonsense that doesn't scale with other figures. Doesn't scale with their own figures. Super aggravating.
