I am loving that Sub-Zero but I wish they all had the same damn accessories. The iceball and daggers are sorely missed.

Scorpion is missing his swords because this represents his Inferno style which trades the swords for the skull, Ninjitsu features the swords.

I get what they're going for. Kotal Kahn has the potential to be especially cool with his variants. I was really looking forward to the Blood God version. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be going past series 2, so I'm not sure if I'm going to invest in the next wave.

Great set. I really dug these figures, sad they are timing out. They weren't super duper articulated like some Legends figs, but they weren't mini statues like the SoA and BB figures. It was a good middle ground. Sculpts and paint were tops on all of them.
Personally, I was into these because they were like upgraded versions of the classic guys. Game 1/2. I wasn't as into the second wave because of that. I know they were doing MKX, but I think a focus on the retro angle without saying so would of helped it a bit. Hopefully they can apply this method of figure creation to other licenses down the road. |

I just want a skull faced Scorpion to be made. I refuse to buy this one with it's loose face mask. They should've made that mask part of the head sculpt like they did with SubZero. |

That said...at least we will be getting Quan Chi, which other than Reptile (who was passed over yet again...) was all I could really ask for. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 10-14-2015 at 04:25 PM.. |

I'm pretty happy they're making Kitana. I was bummed none of the ladies got figures in the MK9 line so she's a nice addition. I hope they don't skip out on the 4 inch figures of wave 2. I was going to get all three of those and Raiden from wave 1.

Hey!
I heard somewhere that the Mezco Figures are pretty bad, is that true??? I have pre ordered Scorpion and he will arrive soon It is really strange, because from what i saw on Youtube Video Previews, they all say positive things about Figures. How can there be bad Sales, when everyone on Youtube says (Comments) that the Figures are pretty awesome???? I also heard, that Mezco said on Twitter that they will not produce any more Mortal Kombat Figures in the Future? Is that true? Can someone tell us more Informations about this? What is going on here??? Many say the Figures are bad, but also many people say the Figures are pretty awesome and that they sold damn good. Last edited by Ventus; 03-03-2016 at 12:21 AM.. |

Unfortunately yes, Mezco's run of 6" MKX figures ended with series 2 and the license has moved to some other company now who is making figures based on the original game designs.

I only have the 6 inch Sub-Zero but it is indeed an awesome figure. I'm so bummed there won't be any more. Especially the 4 inch figures. Only getting Sub-Zero, Raiden, and Scorpion there. Seriously couldn't at least shrink down series 2 before dropping the license? I really wanted a 4 inch Kitana, Quan Chi, and Kotal Kahn.

That is really sad!!!
I know, Storm Collectibles is now doing the 6" Figures. But iam not interested in MK 1 or MK 2 Figures. It is so sad, i was really happy to maybe see an MK 10 Takeda, Shinnok or other Characters like Jaquie Bricks some Day. Damn Mezco Aaaallllll i want is an 1/12 Scale or an 1/6 Hanzo Hasashi Figure Why is every Company so stupid and does not make these Unique Characters. Always Scorpion and Sub Zero with their Standard Outfit. Not one needs that, but iam glad that Mezco made the best Versions of them, and that i have pre ordered Quan Chi, Scorpion and Sub Zero even Scorpion has no beard under the Mask, that is not much of a Problem. So i can create a least that Unique Battle Display, Scorpion + Sub Zero VS Quan Chi I will post this, when i got all 3 Figures. Last edited by Ventus; 03-03-2016 at 04:07 PM.. |

I have been a Mortal Kombat Fan since the first Day. Have played them all from MK1 - MK10 But this is so sad, that these Companies throw away their License instead of producing good Characters in their alternate Outfit. Also i do not like the Old Liu Kang in MK10, i really was hoping to the last that Mezco would make a good Liu Kang in his alternate young Outfit. I hope maybe somedays there will be a good Dragon King, Shinnok, or Liu Kang Figure so i can display them all for an Armageddon like Showdown. |

People want to get mad at Mezco, but the main problem is that sales for these were soft. Mortal Kombat figures have always has weak-ish sales. The 6" series 1 figures are still on shelves at most toy stores I've visited. I have yet to see Series 2 outside of 1 comic shop and those weren't moving either. Outside of the few hardcore fans, there's really no general interest in MK figures.

The only problem I have with Mezco is how they handled the 4 inch figures. It took forever for series 1 to get released and they aren't even going to make series 2 in the 4 inch scale. Not cool man.

If sales for these were indeed soft, I don't think it had anything to do with a lack of interest in MK figures. I think it was because of a few other things we might be overlooking.
1. These things were hard to find in stores. You can't buy product if you cannot find it. At least in my experiences, I never saw these in person more than once on the shelf (as in one case) and once they were gone, that was it. None of my stores around me bothered to restock. 2. Lackluster character selection/character burn out. Faces of the franchise...sure...but we once again, we got Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Raiden (who from discussing with others, has never been a particular favorite character wise among most people I know, just in the games, due to him consistently being one of the most powerful in-game characters to play.) How many different versions of these same three characters must fans of the series endure. The Street Fighter series suffers from the same thing, as there is only so many Ryu, Ken, and Chun Li figures one can endure before a fan says enough is enough. Series 2 had a better variety, giving us three characters never done before in any iteration (and long overdue in the case of Quan Chi and Kitana.) 3. Speaking of character burn out, did we really need 3 versions of each character, with two versions with wave 2? With the amount of variants put out, they could have very easily have released AT LEAST one more brand new wave. I would have preferred to have that, over a bloody Scorpion or a glow in the dark Raiden. I also think the focus of the license was off. Mezco was pushing plush dolls, novelty Funko-Pop type stuff, 12" inch figures, 6" inch figures, 3.75" figures...not to mention all of those variants. If they would have chosen to focus on one or two things (let's say 6" and 3.75" figures,) they could have had more money to spend on creating more waves of product. 4. Quality of the figures was honestly TOO good. A weird complaint I know, but an honest one. Much like ToyBiz back in the day, there was no way that Mezco was making any sort of profit on these, as the paints, accessories, and sculpts had an insane amount of detail. I've seen MAFEX and Figurearts figures released with less in terms of paints, accessories, and details, for nearly two or three times the price. 5. Most importantly of all these things, Mezco was late getting these out of the gate. They might have been able to create more hype by releasing figures with the special editions of the game, or the Kombat Pack DLC, but the fact of the matter was that Mezco took their sweet time getting these out, and like the hot girl who waits till the last minute, they looked amazing when they showed up, but unfortunately the party was already over and the excitement had died down. Here we are, more than a year after the game has released, and they still haven't gotten out the stuff they announced years ago, which is nothing more than upscaled and downscaled versions of figures they have already put out. Can you imagine if Disney Infinity, Skylanders, or Amiibo took this long to put out new figurines? No one would care by the time they're released, as they will have moved onto other games. I'm really disappointed that the line has ended, but I'm grateful for what we got. I've been a huge Quan Chi fan from the beginning, and I'm stoked to have him on my shelf battling Dr. Strange. Scorpion and Sub-Zero are awesome. Kitana is one of the top ten best figures I've bought in the last year. There are still others I would like to have seen made (Reptile? Pretty Please?) but at least we got something. Hopefully the next guys who step up will give us something new and refreshing, although I already see another Scorpion and Sub-Zero on the horizon, so I'm not entirely hopeful. If anything I will say, the stuff from Storm Collectibles that's coming out does look to be based off of MK 2 (which was arguably the most popular and beloved game in the series,) so that is one thing working in it's favor. Yes right Direction from World Box
I always loved the Scorpion that is more dressed like an Knight, that is why i do not like his MK 1 and 2 Outift. But this is to expensive for me. If a Company someday releases and Hanzo Figure of that Size and Prize i will grab it right on Pre Order. Still really sad, that Mezcos Line ended so quickly. |

Re: Raiden's popularity. In my experience I've found Raiden to be decently popular among fans. In different poll-type votes I've seen online he tends to place fairly high and then more so talking with friends or peers or literally anybody that wanted to talk MK he gets some love for being the lightning-dude with the cool hat. I like Raiden because he's straight up based on Lightning from Big Trouble in Little China and he is a pretty easy-to-play character but then in the story he is kinda klutzy with his planning and ends up coming across like a jerk but it was pretty cool at the end of MKX's story when he was all "done with this shit" mode and went all Dark-Raiden.
