Nah, I didn't really mean it like that or anything. I can see now that this guy is getting a much better widespread release, heck I described how the case was when I got mine. I don't customize, but a properly done Shadow Fett sounds cool.

There are about 8 Walgreens within reasonable driving distance from my house, 4 more if I'm willing to drive a little further and cross into SC, so I was excited when I first heard about the upcoming Walgreens exclusive figures.
Then, when the Tyrion Lannister and Agent Venom exclusives were easy to track down, I assumed it would be a matter of days until I found a Boba Fett. Lol, two months later I finally found him. I'm relieved that I didn't have to resort to ebay, but hitting up all of those Walgreens throughout September and October, with little to show for it, was incredibly frustrating. Currently, of the 8 stores in my area, I've only spotted him at two. Almost equally as frustrating, I've only seen a single Vader at Walgreens, and no Lukes or Sandtroopers. I'm grateful that the Targets and TrU here have been stocking that wave, which has made them easy for me to find. Anyways, I really hope that Walgreens and Hasbro continue to restock this figure well into 2015, for those who have not yet been able to find him. He's a great figure, and I hate the thought of people having to pay ridiculous prices for him, especially since the other Walgreens exclusives are so ridiculously easy to find. Wave 3 of the 6" Black Series hit Target in my area about a month ago, and a single buyer walked away on the first day with all the stormtroopers, presumably to scalp them. This seems to be happening a lot. I talked last week with an employee who says there are two guys who find out when the trucks arrive and show up like clockwork. It takes the fun out of visiting the collectible section of the toy department when you know the vultures have already come and gone.
Your pictures of the Fett prototype make me realize that I was hasty in my previous criticism. I still wish they could have cleaned up the dents from the original Fett mold, but it's still worth having as a unique variant of the best design from the original movies. Hope we can look forward to similar and even better variants of the Mandalorian armor in the new movies. |
