Hi guys I'm starting to collect the toys from Toybiz of the X-Men. Some I had left over from when I was a kid. This line was always weird to me as it was a blend of comic book and animated series. I was a big fan of the show and just dabbled in the comic. The problem is some figures are just like they were in the show and others are drastically different and some from what I see were not even produced maybe. Looking to get characters that most resemble the TV show like:
Bishop Beast Cyclops Jean Grey (She seems like she has no figures that look like the show....only phoenix and a light up jean that looks really odd) Jubilee (I think she got released under X-Force but don't know what she looks like) Storm (Also several figures none of which I've seen that look like her in the show with the white suit with the like wing looking suit) Night Crawler Archangel Angel Colossus (I know he wasn't big in the show) Juggernaut Apocalypse Iceman Wolverine Mr. Sinister Magneto Sabretooth Gambit Mystique Cable Pyro Blob Avalanche Anyone know which figures might be the most like the animated series version or have photos/collections that you'd be willing to share? Thanks in advance! |

For some of the main characters I think they did a series of figs that were supposed to be more cartoon accurate. Granted they were mostly just repaints of existing figs.
I'd say check out figurerealm for their checklists and look for info on the line there. |

Mostly any of the Toybiz 1990-1994 X-Men figures will be "accurate enough" … none are completely accurate, since the Toybiz figures mostly had realistic proportions, whereas the cartoon had sloppy cartooning so you either had huge heads with small bodies or giant torsos with small heads. I can't think of anyone other than Morph that isn't overall the same as the 90's comics design.

You taking the 5" line from the early 90s?
I know for storm you got to have the Water Works version. Should be able to find all the others in various lines. I'd say series 4 and on is where they get really good. Last edited by Byrnes; 01-22-2020 at 02:43 PM.. |
