If it's Transformers, and it doesn't go in the other threads, then talk about it here.

I have a City Commander set. I really love it. I also got the Head Robots Hardhead headmaster "Hothead" kit. Very nice as well. A must if you have the walmart Hardhead.

I have City Commander and the missile add-on kit, as well as the Superion add-on kit and the Perfect Effect Shadow Warrior. One day, I hope to pick up the Bruticus set, but I'm waiting for funds.
Overall, the 3rd Party stuff I've gotten has been really good quality. I'm definitely a fan of Fansproject. Yeah, they didn't sell all that well (most in my area went on clearance for a long, long time). Personally, I'd be happy if Hasbro would just import Revoltech TF's and be done with it.

Third party rocks. As infringing as it is.... It just looks awesome. I have everything Fansproject has made up untill the insecticons (minus the cliffjumper head upgrade), iGear PP01 2nd edition, Knightmorpher, TFC weapons... I can't remember them all. Looking forward to Ratchet and Ironhide from iGear! As much I would like these things to be official I guess it makes room for Hasbro/Takara to do other things. Look how cool the new Prime toys look.

I fully support 3rd party development because I know the things they make will never ever be considered by HasTak. Besides, given the level of accessible technology we have today most third party developers are a much higher quality than you would find for mass produced toys

My first love of collecting, Transformers! I've stopped collecting as much because the better third parties are too damn expensive but I do have a couple of shelfs on my Detolf devoted to them. A few pics with more to come:

I personally don't think so. I was hugely dissapointed in him. I don't think he looks very good. His transformation is waaaay too complex, and he looks terrible compaitred to the other MPs. All the MPs to date have been ultra detailed, reguardless if their robot mode is cartoon based (Optimus), Toy Based (Grimlock), or a new (Starscream). Hotrod's slavishness to the Floro Dery designs really hurt him because he has almost no detailing, when compaired to the others. Plus, he has no real scale to him. He doesn't fit in with anyone. He's way too big for Grimlock, and he's too big for Optimus. He's too small for Beast Wars. Also, he can't hold his weapons well at all. He can barily hold his guns, and Offshoot? Fuggidaboutit. Alternator Rodimus is a better toy, and a better fit to the MP and Alternator set. But that's just my opinion. I know plenty of people who'd tell you I'm an idiot for feeling this way. Firebolt/Offshoot is cool as all get out, though. I would like to see more Targetmasters if they have decent articulation and a better transformation like he does. It's important to note that I'm also biased against the cartoon. And Takara's slavish adhearence hurts a lot of my opinions on a lot of stuff they do. Grimlock could have been an awesome toy if Takara didn't ruin it by basing him on the cartoon with the 50's T. Rex mode, the idiotic serving tray and apron. (At least they let him switch to the red eyes, and he eventually got his crown, and his robot mode was toy based) Sadly, Hotrod gets none of those saves, though.

Since the early ninties, Grimlocks have been portrayed with design cues from his G1, but with a more accurate dinosaur mode. G2 comics, and IDW being the two best. Both are very roboty and boxy, but are still far more accurate. G2's comic being the best example, since that's little more than taking the original design and lifting the tail off the ground, and making his head bigger. There's absolutely no reason that MP Grimlock shouldn't have been updated like that. Not in my book, at least. I am very anal when it comes to dinosaurs. EDIT: And I forgot about Animated Grimlock! There's another G1 based Grimmy that (While increadibly cartoonish) manages to update the design by changing his posture.

well....the whole concept of the masterpiece line is to make them cartoon accurate. I mean, im not happy with classics grimlock, but we got what we got. Also, I know exactly the comic your talking about, and yes it is an awesome cover. My avatar is from G2 #1.
