The team at Auto Assembly 2012 have sent us over an update. Auto Assembly 2012 looks set to break their own record for largest attendance at a European Transformers convention in the next few days, and a reminder that there is a final cut-off date of 12:00 noon on Wednesday 1 August to pre-register for this year's convention. there will be on the door passes available on the day, but these will be limited and you won't get in as fast as you would if you had pre-registered - so why delay? Pre-register and save yourself the hassle.
As an added incentive to pre-register those passes, Auto Assembly have announced a free ticket draw for the 2013 convention. The winner receives two free weekend tickets for the 2013 convention along with three nights free hotel accommodation at the convention hotel. And the great part is if you have already pre-registered for a weekend pass or a non-attendee pack, then you are already entered into the draw! That's right, all pre-registered weekend pass holders are entered into the draw for free tickets to next years convention automatically, as well as non-attendees! It's one more good reason to get your pre-registration in today! Finally an update on those awesome Calloway Customs Marlboor Wheeljack heads which are exclusive to Auto Assembly 2012. The Gold packs are now completely sold out, with very limited stock remaining on the Silver and Bronze packs. All this and news is expected very soon on Auto Assembly 2013 - get ready to put the dates in your diary for next year's event! Back to this year, Auto Assembly 2012 is taking place over the weekend of 3-5 August at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, UK. To find out more and pre-register please visit the Auto Assembly homepage. |

Hot on the tail of their last update, Atomic Laser provides an update for their 2012 product offerings, this time for a storage option. Check out the update below:
"Hello all!, We received our first batch of storage pages this week and wanted to share the first pic with everyone as this has been a much anticipated item over the last year. They fit both our reproduction cards as well as original G1 cards too. Sheets are double sided and hold 10 cards each. [These are] to be offered bundled with a spec card storage binder and in separate sheet packs. Available in Third Quarter 2012 from Atomic Laser! Thanks, Atomic Laser Customer Service www.atomiclaser.com" For those of you who are unfamiliar with Atomic Laser, they are noteworthy for creating the reproduction Generation One Technical Specification Cards, or Tech Specs as they are more commonly known. TFW2005.com would like to remind all once again that these products are not official Hasbro products. Atomic Laser actively contributes in our very own TFW2005.com Fan Art Forum with some tweaking of Generation One Tech Specs artwork of a few characters for differing reasons. Third party group Dr. Wu is teasing a new sword accessory for Transformers: Prime Optimus Prime. The sword resembles one of the thirteen Primes' Prima's Star Saber, with the Matrix of Leadership embedded in its hilt.
Announced on their Weibo blog page, the sword is planned to be 12cm long, constructed from metal, and will potentially be chromed. We've also heard rumors that there will be versions for Nemesis Prime and Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. While the sword appears to have been designed in the Transformers: Prime style, the 5mm grip will enable a large portion of your collection to wield it. Staff Note: This kit is an unofficial product not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara/Tomy. |

In an interesting turn of events, the existance of a United Artfire, a mass release version of the Million Publishing exclusive Classics-style Artfire, has been denied by both Takara-Tomy and by Hydra, who works with E-Hobby.
Posting on the Allspark forums, Hydra stated that: I don't know who decided that the supposed regular release of Artfire would only have one Targetmaster, but there is no regular release of Artfire coming. Million posted it on their Twitter account on the 21st, calling it out as a false rumor. I heard the same thing directly from TT staff, so you can safely assume that there is no normal version of Artfire on the way. Takara-Tomy also tweeted a similar denial on their own Twitter account (translation by 2005 Boards member Ricochet): There's no domestic/foreign release of UN Artfire except TF Generations 2012 book exclusive, I heard By all accounts it is beginning to sound like the reports of a UN-32 Artfire might be a phantom listing. Keep it TFW2005 for more updates on this bizarre turn of events as the situation unravels further. Picture attached to this story - a rather painful looking alternate Targetmaster configuration for the Million Publishing Artfire, shared on the Planet Iacon Facebook group. |

Time for the beekeeping suits, as thanks to a Singaporean hobby shop named Roborobo we now have a solicitation for a future Toys R Us Japan exclusive toy, named Gatling Gun Bumblebee. Coming out in the tail-end of 2012 for 8,000 Yen, the toy is a "Perfect Gold coated Bumblebee" with lights and sounds, a weapon reveal gimmick, weapons, an Arms Micron toy and stickers. At this time there are no pictures, but judging by the listing it can be assumed to be a redeco/remold of the Weaponizer Bumblebee.

Robot Kingdom has updated their Facebook Gallery with scans from this month's edition of Figure King Magazine. This month's edition has more images of Jet Vehicon and Darkness Megatron, due out in late July - Jet Vehicon here looks more muted and less flamboyant than the one that was on display at the Tokyo Toy Show. The Kabaya Fortress Maximus series is also shown - the gigantic Fortress Maximus is here confirmed to have all three of his modes present and correct, plus the Minibots that come with each base set - Cerebros, Windcharger and Powerglide - are shown in detail for the first time.
Saving the best for last, the third scan dedicates itself to MP-12 Sideswipe (Lambor) MP-13 Soundwave, and MP-14 Red Alert (Alert). There is also a small feature on Garigari-Kun robo, the transforming ice lolly; the first six Arms Micron single figures featuring the trio that merge into a giant sword and the recolors of Skywarp, Terrorcon Cliffjumper and vanilla Cliffjumper's partners, and the Toys R Us Exclusive Optimus Prime with Battle Shield / Cosmotechtor Arms Microns. |

Japanese site Higekuma Toy Blog aka Alfes2000 has posted some most excellent in-hand images of the CM's Corp Guttu Kuru Minerva figure. This fully licensed poseable figure depicts the heroine of the Transformers Masterforce series in her human form wearing her power armor. She comes with three different faces for different expressions, a detachable backpack which transforms into the face of her larger robot mode, and tons of personality. It's a really cool depiction of the young Autobot medic that is fully screen accurate and capable of striking lots of great poses.
Check out a selection of my favorite images from the two galleries that Alfes posted attached to this story - or go here and here to check out the full galleries for lots more pictures. |

By way of an official Hasbro Malaysia catalog, we have got a look at some upcoming Transformers Prime Voyager Class toys. This catalog shows Voyager Waves 3 and 4 (and beyond...?)
On show here, and confirmed to be getting a release in Hasbro's Transformers Prime line outside Japan are: Ultra Magnus - big blue truck like the Cyberverse toy. He has a cannon emplacement on the rear of the truck near his tow hitch which is his MechTech weapon. It converts into a gigantic hammer. Thundertron - Blue wolf / liger that transforms into a peg-legged robot mode. His MechTech is some kind of claw weapon which transforms into a sword. He is being marketed as a part of the new third faction, the Star Seekers, which he was introduced as the leader of in the Transformers Exiles novel. And as a shock reveal, Skyquake - the Decepticon sleeper from episode 6, Masters and Students, killed in his first appearance, is getting a toy. He's a straight-up redeco of Dreadwing but has a modified MechTech weapon to represent his show model's different weapon. Speaking of Dreadwing, he is also shown, and like all these others his toy bio and tech specs is revealed in these images. Notable by his absense is Breakdown - so if you are worried this one might be passed over for a US release you might want to jump on a Japanese release of this one when it comes out later this week. I personally would not worry too much because even with a two-episode wonder like Skyquake getting the toy treatment, all odds are Breakdown is simply in a future assortment. I'd still recommend investing in the Japanese one if you "must own" a version of the character though. |

The images released show robot, jet and limb modes for Phantom, their take of Fireflight, and Eagle, which is their take on Air Raid. As yet they are unpainted prototypes - when full painted images become available we will update you right here on the TFW frontpage.

Auto Assembly have sent us the second preview for their convention exclusive comic this year. This second story is set during the fan-favorite Beast Wars series! Titled "A Hard Life", it features Cheetor looking back on his experiences in the Beast Wars. The story is penned by Simon Plumbe with artwork by Paul Vromen and featuring colours Liam Shalloo and letters by Andrew Turnbull.
The comic, titled "Iacon Independent", will be given away free to all attendees of the convention and will also be in the non-attendee packages. That's right, not only are Auto Assembly pulling out all the stops to make a great comic that features short stories from every era of Transformers, but they are also doing it for free! Did we mention that Auto Assembly intends to make Iacon Independent a new yearly feature of the convention? Long may it continue! Auto Assembly 2012 is taking place over the weekend of 3-5 August at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, England. Find out more and pre-register at the Auto Assembly homepage - remember, pre-registered guests for the whole weekend along with non-attendees get entered into a draw for two free tickets and three nights free accommodation for Auto Assembly 2013! |

And as a follow on to the last story on the release of the Fall of Cybertron toys in Malaysia, we have a few in hand photos of the most anticipated release of the new toys - Shockwave! Fall of Cybertron Shockwave is a nice rendition of the character who will fit in well with your Classics toys as well as the Fall of Cybertron toys. These new images by Fallen Kia on Facebook show off the robot mode only - the main attraction I'm sure you agree - along with a size comparison with a Generations War for Cybertron Soundwave (customised as Soundblaster, a really nice piece of work). Reassuringly these new releases will scale well against the War for Cybertron toys - so your War for Cybertron Bumblebee and Megatron will fit right in with these new releases.
