Thanks to a post over on Ozformers, we now have a new sighting of the Transformers Generations/Fall of Cybertron Legion two-packs (Rumble/Ravage and Frenzy/Ratbat) in Australia. Reminiscent of the way Soundwave's cassettes were sold in pairs during Generation One, these Cyberverse Legion priced two-packs are your way to expand Fall of Cybertron Voyager Soundwave's "Cassette" army, albeit with a Cybertronian Data Disk twist.

CrazyDevy have revealed their next two upgrade sets for the vintage Generation 1 Transformers combiners - some rather expensive new hips for Predaking, and new feet (on balljoints) for Piranacon. The picture for the Predaking set does not give much away about the new hips other than that they are bigger, but it does show the assembled upgrades on Predaking. Your mileage may vary on how much these kits are actually needed though.

After much speculation regarding who would be cast in the upcoming fourth live-action Transformers movie, Micheal Bay has confirmed on his website that Mark Wahlberg has been signed on for Transformers 4.
HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 8, 2012) – After an exceptionally successful collaboration on the upcoming “Pain and Gain,” Michael Bay has cast Academy Award®-nominee Mark Wahlberg in the highly anticipated “TRANSFORMERS 4.” The film will hit theaters June 27th, 2014. “Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on “Pain and Gain” and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,” said Bay. Bay will direct the next installment in the “TRANSFORMERS” series, which begins shooting next spring. From Paramount Pictures, a division of Viacom, Inc., in association with Hasbro, the film will be produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Bay’s first “TRANSFORMERS” film was a box office sensation in 2007, opening at #1 and earning more than $700 million worldwide. His second installment “TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN” in 2009 grossed more than $830 million worldwide. In 2011, “TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON” was an even bigger hit worldwide, grossing more than a billion dollars to become the 5th highest grossing film of all time. To date, the franchise has earned more than $2.6 billion worldwide. On the same story, we also have our first look at a logo for Transformers 4, which has been attached to this news story for your viewing pleasure. Don't forget to stay tuned here to TFW2005, as we bring you the latest Transformers Movie news as it happens. |

We've got three more galleries to share with you now! We are rounding out our gallery coverage of the Transformers Prime Cyberverse Commanders with a look at three of the four releases in Prime Cyberverse Commander Wave 3 and 4 - Nightwatch Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus and Skyquake!
All three are pretty cool little toys. Nightwatch Optimus Prime is a redeco of the initial Commander Optimus Prime release, and were it not for his faceplateless head would actually make a decent representation of Nemesis Prime with his overall more dull deco and yellow eyes. Ultra Magnus is a cool little robot, complete with his Magnus hammer, and an unfortunately exposure of his thighs in vehicle mode. Lastly Skyquake is an awesome redeco of Dreadwing, with new weapons, just like the character in the show. He's the first representation of the one-shot villain to get a toy, and he's a worthy addition. Check out the galleries of the three by opening the links below: Transformers Prime Cyberverse Nightwatch Optimus Prime Gallery Transformers Prime Cyberverse Ultra Magnus Gallery Transformers Prime Cyberverse Skyquake Gallery |

The official Transformers Facebook page has posted the artwork of Starscream from the upcoming Transformers Legends game for mobile devices. The game, powered by Mobage, is currently taking pre-registration - find out more here. It is set to feature a wide variety of classic characters, all reimagined to varying degrees - Starscream as you might deduce from this art is more closely based on his Generation 1 toy, with the seam for his arms in his fuselage and the wing-mounted weapons featuring the same projectiles as his Generation 1 release.

Online store Ali Express has uploaded some pictures of the final versions of the X2 Toys Power Beak and Power Bat. The new pictures show off the various options for using these unlicensed minions for Prime Soundwave, including arm blades. The colors do not exactly match with the main Soundwave though - check the pictures out to see for yourself.

Following on from the American Greetings Transformers Movie themed ornaments from the last few years, this year American Greetings is offering up a movie Megatron Christmas ornament. The Decepticon leader's head, as depicted in Dark of the Moon with its scarring on the right side of the face, can glare down at you from your Christmas tree as you exchange gifts with your family this holiday season if you pick up this ornament.

Cybergundam Blog has updated with news of a delay to two of the most anticipated upcoming releases from Takara-Tomy. Encore Fortress Maximus has now been delayed to a late March release, and Masterpiece Soundwave has been delayed until the end of January.
While this is bad news for those impatient to add these two releases to their collection, we encourage you to look at the bright side - it's another little while to save up some money to afford these two high-end releases before they arrive next year. |

Despite mixed reaction from fans, the entertainment industry is praising director Michael Bay on selecting actor Mark Wahlberg for Transformers 4. According to MTV:
"It's an absolutely brilliant move," MTV Geek editor Valerie Gallaher tells MTV News of Wahlberg's casting. "It'll keep this franchise fresh." "The guy can act - as anyone who has seen 'Boogie Nights' or 'The Departed' can attest to," agrees Brian Truitt with USA Today. "And he brings sort of an exasperated 'Come on, alien robots, are you kidding me?!' vibe that would make for a great and different dynamic." Meanwhile TMZ contacted the director via phone. Find out what Mr. Bay had to say about Transformers 4 Plot, Mark Wahlberg's Character And Shia's Comments, after the jump. |

There's a whole range of non-toy Transformers Prime merchandise popping up at retail at the moment - a large chunk of it in the form of bathtime sets! 2005 Boards member moreprimeland reports that among the other items released, there is a Soak and Slam set of Transformers-themed shower, bodywash and suction cup basketball (Spike, compute quickly!). There's also a Great Smile set of toothbrush, holder and cup, plus a Transformers Prime bubblebath set. At $10 this one includes Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron bubblebaths - the Optimus Prime one has also been found sold individually for $2.99 by 2005 Boards member Shark Jumper.
Last but by no means least there's also an Optimus Prime plush pillow - a pillow done in the style of Optimus' truck mode. That one is reportedly going for $20 at Target. |

We're back with another Transformers toy gallery. Today we are sharing with you a gallery of Transformers Prime Arms Micron Ironhide.
Ironhide was released back at the end of September in Japan. He's a recolored version of Prime Sergeant Kup - unlike a lot of other Arms micron releases, Ironhide did not get any remolding to add extra ports for Arms Microns. He looks fantastic in the red and black - I would go as far as to say this is the deco that Kup should always have been released in, because it fits the design so much better than Kup's green. Ironhide like all Arms Micron releases comes with a sheet of stickers in lieu of paint apps, but he barely needs them because he looks good with or without the stickers. A cute touch is the inclusion of a "bullet hole" sticker if you want to customize the look of your Ironhide (or indeed any Transformer) with a war-wound. Ironhide's partner Micron is I.R., a well-built orange Micron who turns into Ironhide's signature cannon. He's a fun little robot and looks equally good attached to Ironhide's arm or hand-held, but his true strength comes out when you combine him with other Arms Microns, like B.H. and C.L., and he forms some suitably oversized heavy weapons for the Autobot weapons specialist. All in all, Ironhide is warmly recommended. If you have Kup, then Ironhide is a straight-up red version of that toy, but the colors feel more right on the mold from the get-go than Kup's deco. Import prices might put you off, but I feel the extra cost is worth it for a massively improved deco which takes a good figure and makes it a great one. Click below to check out our gallery! TFC Toys have released a picture of the packaging of their Uranos F-4 Phantom (aka not-Aerialbot Fireflight) via their Weibo blog. The packaging is in a similar vein to that of their Hercules - the gestalt name in one corner, artwork in the other, and a large window showing off the occupant of the box. There's also a return of the lineart style for the inner box tray artwork. Click on the thumbnail at left to check it out.

Our fellow fans at The Allspark have shared translations of the next two chapters of the Transformers United EX story. Chapter 5, The Dragon pays his dues and Chapter 6, Destruction and Regeneration. Story chapter 5, published on the box for Grim Master, introduces the character of Grim Master into the story. His chapter reveals that he's an ex-Decepticon who was once saved by an Autobot commander, and eventually joined the Autobot side to protect the Earth that is precious to him and repay his debt. He's a reformed version of the Dinoforce member Kakuryu from Transformers Victory - his chapter also features references to another former Decepticon ally, Clouder aka Doubleclouder from Masterforce!
Story chapter 6, Destruction and Regeneration, throws Road Master into the mix. A powerful mercenery hired by the Decepticon's new leader referred to only as "the High Regent", it is revealed that he is also a Junkion who betrayed his home world - he is a new form of the E-Hobby character, Detritus! Open the links above to check out both story chapters. |

Toys R Us Japan have updated their website with new images of the two upcoming releases in the Transformers GT series, GT Prime (Optimus Prime) and GT Saber (Transformers Victory's Star Saber). The new listings show more pictures of the resin prototypes, this time showing both of the releases on their respective pages. The base body is a heavy remold of Alternity Convoy, basically replacing the Nissan GT-R alternate mode with the Super GT rally version. Comparing the pictures lets you take in the differences between the molds (the head molds are very similar, yet different - check out Saber's ear antennae). There's also art pieces attached to each listing showing the robots and the "race queen" figures that come with them, and our first proper look at the new weapons for both toys.

Website Kicks on Fire has updated with some pictures of a special edition release for the Nike Air Max Flyposite sneakers. Pictured are some "special edition" Megatron sneakers - it's a double reference, both to Calvin "Megatron" Johnson of the Detroit Lions and also to Megatron himself, as the sneakers feature a lawyer-friendly not-quite Decepticon logo (still looks a bit like Soundwave's head, though) and a gridlined, gradient detail that partially resembles the background grid / gradient used on the Generation 1 Transformers packaging.

TFW2005's Creative subforums have been churning out quality work non-stop since the last TFW2005 Creative Spotlight, where we looked at Cheetimus Prime's take on Cybertronian Beast Wars characters. This week, we are dipping once more into the Radicons subforum with a custom by deliciouspeter.
Given the title of a "Vehicon Commander", deliciouspeter created a Transformers: Prime version of Barricade from the 2007 Live Action movie out of a First Edition Deluxe Bumblebee and the head from a Hunt for the Decepticons Hailstorm. As usual, we interviewed deliciouspeter about his customs history, as well as the creative process behind this work. Check out the interview after the jump. What will be featured in the next entry? Tune in on November 26th to find out. In the meantime, don't forget to keep it here on TFW2005 as we bring you the latest news as it happens. |
