Taking a page from Seaspray's redeco history, a Generation Two-esque Chromed version of Spray and is currently available for preorder on iGear's storefront. iGear MiniWarriors collectors, be warned, as MW-01C is limited to only 500 pieces and is slated for release sometime in April of this year.

It's time for a pinch of salt, as we have another Transformers 4 rumor from the Transformers Live Action Movie Blog that the next entry in the Transformers Live-Action film franchise will be returning to Chicago for filming.
"It seems that Transformers franchise might be returning to Chicago. This weekend while in the city participating in an advance screening and doing press interviews to promote Broken City. Mark Wahlberg answered questions about Transformers 4. A source reports hearing that Wahlberg said he is house hunting for a rental to use while filming Transformers 4 in the Chicago area during the summer. The idea really isn't much of a stretch as Michael Bay frequently praised the city when they hosted him while filming his huge scenes for Transformers: Dark of the Moon that often required him to alter and close many major streets. Since the fourth movie takes place 4 years after Dark of the Moon, its possible that the Decepticons are not yet done with the city or possibly fallout from the siege has a part in the film. No other details yet but hopefully learn more as the local press post their interviews closer to the January 18 release date of Broken City." As with all movie rumors, please take any and all information prior to an official announcement with a grain of salt. Be sure to keep it here on TFW2005 as we bring you the latest Transformers news, including news for the upcoming movie, as it happens. |

TFW2005 Site Sponsor RobotKingdom has updated their Facebook with new images of two upcoming new products, from the new Third Party group known as KFClub (Which apparently stands for Keith's Fantasy Club.) Based on the G1 Cassettes Ramhorn and Steeljaw, KFClub is planning on releasing CST-01 "Rhinohorn" and CST-02 "Ironpaw" sometime in February. These cassettes are also designed to fit in the chest of MP-13 Soundwave. There is no other information, including price, available at this time.

Transformers Prime is not the only line with new release news coming forward this week - by way of new official images from Hasbro, we can confirm that Transformers Rescue Bots will get a second wave of "Energize" figures, consisting of retooled versions of Boulder the Construction-Bot and Blades the Copter-Bot. Each features translucent blue plastic like the first four Energize releases currently on pegs, and each comes with a new rescue themed accessory - a rescue winch for Blades and a drill for Boulder.

Michael Bay has posted an update on his official website, confirming that Jack Reynor (previous credits including "What Richard Did") has been cast for Transformers 4.
This confirms the rumor that surfaced in December last year that Jack Reynor had landed the role. On the subject of the movie's story, Michael Bay had the following comments to make: Transformers 4, is not a reboot. That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy. A new trilogy of movies is a bold statement (and no doubt dependent on box office profits); however this does confirm the intent for new Transformers movies to carry on being made for a good many years to come. As always, watch this space for future developments. |

The Planet Iacon Facebook Group has posted a pair of new photos of the Fans Want It FWI-3 Jet Power Upgrade Kit, designed for ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime. The kit includes a multitude of SR-71 Blackbird parts that attach as shoulder, chest, and leg armor, as well as a jetpack, wings, and weaponry. The produced effect is reminiscent of the combined form of Optimus Prime and Jetfire in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
We do not currently have any information regarding release date, cost, or compatibility across the various versions of the Leader Class mold. Staff Note: This is a third party add-on not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara Tomy. |

From ACToys user foklau we have a few in-package images of the Transformers Encore 20A "animation type" Devastator. Encore 20A's box art has been given a facelift to match the altered designs of the Constructicons, most notably, the head on the artwork of Devastator. The new head is presented as a major selling feature, and has its own window in the box.

User pc8440 of ACToys.net has shared some additional, higher resolution images of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters series Smokescreen on his card. While we are still waiting for some pictures of the Autobot hot-shot liberated from his packaging, these new images give a much clearer look at the toy, including a good look at the headsculpt, the arms, door wings, and the blue "shadow quill armor" - these latest images appear to show clips where the armor attaches, implying it can be removed for a clean, show-accurate Smokescreen! The proof will of course be in the telling once we get actual photos demonstrating the feature, but all indications so far is Hasbro is giving us a show accurate Smokescreen with optional Beast Hunters spikiness.

Holy Headmasters! Third party group, Toyworld, has updated their website with new colored prototype pictures of their upcoming homage to Generation 1 Hardhead. This figure, named "Hardbone", appears to be a faithful representation of Hardhead and includes a flip down chestplate, a knife with storage in his leg and of course, a fully transformable headmaster figure.
No release date is given other than 2013 but the pricing for the figure is listed at around $73.00. Check out all the new images by clicking the title bar. |

After a few days of speculation on whether or not Beast Hunters Smokescreen's spikey armor can be removed or not, we finally have an answer thanks to an in-hand gallery on ACToys. This gallery shows off the toy with and without the armor we've previously seen in other shots, showing off the mostly screen-accurate robot mode that is hidden underneath the armor, giving those who weren't happy with Arms Micron Smokescreen an option for a more accurate toy.
Beast Hunters Smokescreen will be released in the second wave of Beast Hunters deluxes alongside Bulkhead, Starscream and the Predacon Ripclaw. |

The next two releases in the Japanese Transformers Generations assortment have been revealed. Providing Japan with their dosage of space T-Rex, TG-19 is set to be Grimlock. And, in a surprise twist, TG-20 is Ratbat, a redeco of the Generations Scourge mold with a new head sculpt. Like Skywarp, Ratbat is presently a Japan-only release so you may wish to put in a preorder for him if you want one for your Classics lineup. Fortunately our sponsors TFSource who broke this news have your needs covered there along with a preorder for Grimlock. Both are due to be released in June.

Pricing remains similar to other online outlets at $99.99 and $79.99 respectively. The biggest thing to notice is that unlike BBTS, who are expecting these figures at the end of this month, Amazon is expecting their orders in April of this year.

Here is something bizarre yet fun. Masterpiece Soundwave's release through Amazon in Japan comes with a special, clear Energon cube accessory. What Takara-Tomy has released as a special bonus is an insert for that cube to represent when the Decepticons "filled" the Energon cubes with energy plundered from Earth. It's a free download available from their site, and doubtless there's a possibility here to make some custom Energon cubes to display with your Transformers.
The Takara-Tomy campaign page is here. A direct link to the PDF download is here. |

UPDATE: Fellow fans over at Seibertron.com, have reported an e-mail from Zap2it regarding this listing: Some kind of mistake has been made in which the Zap2It Transformers Prime episode guide has attributed an old episode of Transformers Animated (“Lost and Found”) airing on 2/15 as being a new episode of Transformers Prime. It is incorrect. This is being revised. Sorry folks. On the upside, Transformers Animated is always fun to watch. We'll keep you updated as we get the latest news on Transformers Prime Season 3 |
