Hasbro has sent us the Official Press Release for Toy Fair 2013 (110th American International Toy Fair).
Featured Transformers related products are as follows: "Featured in Hasbro's Toy Fair showcase is the highly anticipated launch of BEAST HUNTERS, the touchstone for the TRANSFORMERS brand entertainment in 2013 driven by the award winning "Transformers Prime" animated series. Produced by Hasbro Studios and seen by kids and fans in 182 countries around the world, the third season of the series finds the AUTOBOTS facing off against both the DECEPTICONS and unprecedented new foes: the dragon-like PREDACONS. The BEAST HUNTERS multi-platform IP and new PREDACON characters come to life across programming, digital games, publishing, new toys and more. At Toy Fair, Hasbro introduces a new, highly innovative way to experience TRANSFORMERS action figures with CONSTRUCT-BOTS, the first ever line of TRANSFORMERS figures that kids can customize and convert." TRANSFORMERS CONSTRUCT-BOTS ELITE Action Figure Assortment Build YOUR Bot! Each TRANSFORMERS CONSTRUCT- BOTS ELITE action figure includes a robot frame and lots of armor, weapons and accessory parts (50-55 pieces) so kids can construct, customize and convert favorite TRANSFORMERS characters—each figure can convert from robot to vehicle and back without taking it apart! Plus, all the parts are interchangeable between all TRANSFORMERS CONSTRUCT-BOTS figures (each sold separately), so there's almost no limit to what kids can create. Kids can also store their figures in the included re-sealable case. Choose from 10 characters like WHEELJACK and SOUNDWAVE, each sold separately. (Ages: 6 & up/Approx. retail price: $14.99/Available: August 2013) TRANSFORMERS PRIME BEAST HUNTERS VOYAGER CLASS Assortment The leaders of the AUTOBOTS and PREDACONS face off in these large-scale action figures. Based on the third season of Hasbro Studios' hit animated series TRANSFORMERS PRIME, OPTIMUS PRIME and PREDAKING each feature a powerful weapon, and OPTIMUS PRIME boasts his new BEAST HUNTERS look. There are six figures in the assortment; each includes multiple weapons and accessories. Each sold separately. (Ages: 5 & up/Approx. At an interview by Collider Visual Effects Supervisor Jeff White stated that he is returning for CGI of Transformers 4.
White served as Digital Production Supervisor on Transformers, and then was elevated to Association Visual Effects Supervisor on the subsequent sequels Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon. Does it feel the same way with Transformers? Oh, yeah! We thought Transformers 1 was the hardest thing we’d ever done, and then we did Transformers 2. And then, Transformers 3 came and Michael [Bay] came up with this sequence where the building is falling over and they’re inside of it. He said he came up with it while he was doing stomach crunches. But, it’s great! We don’t want to do the work that we’ve done before. We love trying to figure out the problems and create imagery that people haven’t seen before. You also did that with Transformers: The Ride. Yeah, it’s really fun! I just went on it about a month ago, now that it’s opened in Los Angeles, and it’s nice ‘cause I finally had had a little separation from it. It ended up being about a two-year process to create it. To then go on it with people who had never been involved, everybody screams at the same place. It was a lot of fun. Typically, you’ve got a movie theater screen and, even if it’s 3D, you’re bound by a frame. All of a sudden, we had no borders, so we could do a lot of fun things in 3D with that. The beauty of it is that you sit in a car with 11 other people and you get that immediate feedback. It’s funny, they took us up in the rafters and it’s literally like the car drives in, everybody screams, and then the car drives out, every time. It’s cool to see that it has the desired effect. Where do you go from here? What are you working on next? I’m starting pre-production on Transformers 4, which has some really exciting stuff in it. And then, we’ll see what the future holds. Certainly, if the opportunity came to work on the next Avengers, I’d definitely jump at it. You can read the full article at Collider. |

vic2993 via Planet Iacon on Facebook has shared something awesome with us. He has shared our first look at the toy for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Shockwave! The image is small, but comes from a Hasbro catalog. It indicates Shockwave will come with two gimmicks - a spinning Hyperflux Cannon, which is his gun arm. It appears to close up for a more show accuate look. The second gimmick is advertised as snap-on Beast Armor - in other words like Beast Hunters Smokescreen, Shockwave will have the option of shedding his Beast Hunters spikes to look more like his on-screen appearances so far.
A vehicle mode is also seen, Shockwave appears to transform into a tank or artillary unit of some description. Hopefully this is one toy we can see more of at the US Toy Fair 2013 this weekend along with all the other upcoming good stuff. |

We have received a selection of press releases from Hasbro which, alongside a lot of information we already knew, tease at a whole bunch of other upcoming releases. These upcoming releases include:
The press release for Beast Hunters also gives an indication for the numbers of releases in the Beast Hunters line. If this information is correct, we've seen most of what this line has to offer already... Beast Hunters Deluxe Class - 16 characters in the assortment (we have seen 11) Beast Hunters Voyager Class - 6 characters in the assortment (we have seen 5) Beast Hunters Cyberverse Legion Class - 11 figures to collect (we have seen 7) Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Class - 9 figures to collect (we have seen 7) Beast Hunters Cyberverse Vehicle Assortment - 3 to collect (we have seen 2) Of course, do not take this as gospel; plans change and if Beast Hunters is successful, there might be more toys coming down the pipeline. This also does not take into account exclusive releases such as the Abominus combiner set and the electronic Beast Fire Predaking is also not mentioned. It probably also refers only to what Hasbro has lined up for 2013; there could be more toys planned for 2014 outside the scope of this press release. The 3rd and final book of the Transformers: Classified series has been announced as Transformers Classified: Satellite of Doom. The title of the book pays homage to 1985 Transformers "See & Read" series children's book of the same name.
The story synopsis as we received is as follows: "In the finale to Switching Gears and Battle Mountain, 12-year-old Kevin Bowman's older brother Duane finds himself and his fellow soldiers on a mysterious blue planet facing fierce robotic creatures. Back on Earth Kevin and his AUTOBOT friend Gears uncover a secret program that sends satellites to track incoming TRANSFORMERS--but is it meant to protect Earth, or aid in a DECEPTICON invasion? Kevin and Gears plan a daring rescue mission in this action-packed conclusion to TRANSFORMERS Classified." The book will release this September 10th by Little Brown Books for Young Readers and is priced at US$14.99. This 224 paged book is a collaboration of effort by Ryder Windham and Jason Fry. |
